SEWING + FASHION CONSTRUCTION Thursdays, October 16November 20, 46 pm Julian Crooks In this course you will learn the skills to create actual garments. Youll explore the basic principles of design and will learn about selecting and preparing patterns and fabrics. Basic sewing skills will be covered, such as seam fnishes and closures. By the end of the course, you will have created and sewn your very own fnished garment! Tuition $295.00 LIFE DRAWING + PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT Saturdays, October 425, 9 am12 pm Instructor TBA This course will get you ready for the art school admission process! The course will consist of weekly assignments and critiques. The assignments will range from observational and fgure drawing to mixed media and content driven work. In our critiques and discussions, youll develop the ability to talk about your own work and be ready for the college interview process. Using a combination of fat pattern and draping techniques this course will teach you how make patterns based on your individual designs! You will learn to make a basic pattern from body measurements, will learn the techniques to manipulate pattern shape and will create a number of variations in silhouette. At the conclusion of the course, the students will create an original design. These are the tools of modern design, from business cards to posters, from newsletters to websites.
