N EW I N TAKE 2010
New Intake at ITAS
We are delighted to announce that ITAS will take in
new students on a course to be held from 27.03. to
10.04.2010. This course, Classical Tibetan I is part of
our ITAS Certificate Programme and will take appro-
ximately six years to complete.
The module, Classical Tibetan I, is the first part of an intro-
duction to the Classical Tibetan language using important
Kagyu texts like the Jewel Ornament of Liberation, the 9th
Karmapa‘s Ocean of Definite Meaning, the 3rd Karmapa‘s
Mahamudra wishes, Milarepa‘s life story and his songs, and
life stories of the Karmapas.
Recommendations
As the ITAS programme is quite intense and aims at high
quality, please make sure to spend time up to the next
course in preparation. It is also worth making up your
mind about whether you are prepared for the intense,
ongoing study which will last a few years. The course in-
cludes academic methodologies and contexts as well as
languages. Initially those interested are recommended to
strengthen their understanding of English.

then be updated and offered further suggestions concer-
ning preparatory work.
Registration and costs:
The registration will open at 1st November and you can
register here: http://www.itas-uni.eu/registration.html.
There you will also find the account details for payment.
The course fee is 230.-€, if you register and pay until
12th February. Otherwise the course fee is 300.-€. Re-
gistration closes 20th March.
A reduced course fee is available for our students who
are unable to pay the full fee due to their specific cir-
cumstances. To apply for the reduced 150.-€ fee please
send a written statement before 15th january outlining
briefly the reasons for your inability to pay to: registra-
tion@itas-uni.eu. After the confirmation of your reduced
amount you will have the possibility to register and pay
within the 30th of January until the 12st Feruary.
The costs for accommodation and meals in KG are 18.-€
per day. (15.-€, if you pay the reduced course fee). Air-
port shuttle is 20.-€ per way.
Following courses:
The two courses following this will be Classical Tibe-
tan II (from 26.12.2010 to 08.01.2011) and Classical
Tibetan III (around march/april 2011). For both cour-
ses you need to join the Classical Tibetan I course.
NOTE: The next new intake will not be
before 2012/2013!
