The target audience for this magazine are women aged 20-35. The
interests they might obtain are celebritys lifestyles; a range of new
updates on tours and modern day icons. The secondary target audience
for this magazine would be teenage girls ages 13-18 who are curious
about new gossip and rising celebrities.
In this magazine cover, Lana Del Rey is making a direct mode of address
which signifies she wants to evoke a connection with the audience and
demonstrate her devotion to her fans.
Lana Del Rey is the central image for this cover because she has risen
progressively in the music industry throughout the past 2 years. Initiating
with her single Video Games and later on hooking, not only the United
States but most of Europe, with her album Born to Die.
LANA DEL REY. Inside story on a modern day icon. The words inside
story suggest that the magazine will be revealing something personal
perhaps even scandalous, about her and therefore creates inquisitiveness.
The overall message the artist is trying to pass to the audience is that her
fame is slowly increasing. Shes new. Shes exciting. In this image Lana
Del Rey is standing with a great posture connoting her power and
portraying her as class and elegant. Lana is covering her left eye with her
hand as if blocking the sun. This could also be interpreted as Lana paying
dedicated attention to the audience ironically how the industry has been
paying attention to her.
Other artists mentioned on this magazine cover are Azealia Banks, Lady
Gaga, Christina Aguilera, The killers, Nelly Furtado, Maroon 5 and Adele
who funny enough are all very famous celebrities or recently achieving
awards and more viewers on YouTube. This Implies that Rolling Stone is
trying to pass to the audience that they are the most updated on the
celebrity life.
The buzz word included in this magazine cover was PLUS. This infers
that there is more information/gossip to reveal creating enigma and
encouraging the audience to purchase the magazine. The type of
audience the magazines intents to get are people who want to read more
than just the general content of a magazine and want more information
for their money.

The title block makes it evident that the genre of the magazine is rock
and most of its content will be based on artists of that type of music or
remotely related to it. The title rolling stone is written in royal acidbath,
the outline of the text is black and the text fill is red. The font is quite
appealing to their target audience because of the magazines rock fan
base. The colour red in the text contrasts with the picture of Lana Del Rey
as its in black and white, which causes the block title to stand out. Red is
viewed as a daring and dangerous colour which provokes the audience to
buy it. It also reflects the content of the magazine.
