From the
In looking over this week's newsleter, you'll fnd a wide range of excitng
programs and opportunites to atend or apply for. Here are a few high-
lights:

* The Clemson Writng Fellows Program is now acceptng applicants (see
page 5). If you love to write, and want to help others improve their writng,
this program might be for you.

* Be sure to atend the Educatonal Enrichment Travel Grants (EETG) poster
forum tomorrow (see right). This is a great chance to learn more about
what your Honors friends did last summer, and to get ideas for where you
could go with an EETG next year.

* There are lectures both this week and next--on Thursday, William Egging-
ton speaks on Cervantes, "The Man Who Invented Ficton." And next week,
our Thoughts Worth Thinking series resumes with Dr. Sarah Juliet Lauro's
talk on "Sweet Revenge: Sugar, Hait, Voodoo, Zombies."

* Finally, it's tme to think about the Goldwater Scholarship (for sopho-
mores and juniors pursuing a STEM-based research career) and the Truman
Scholarship (for juniors interested in public service). For more informaton,
see page 3 or contact Ricki Shine (rshine@clemson.edu).
Have a great (and busy) week! Dr. Lasser
