By 1 st October 2014, the Coupon Parking System will be implemented fully. Motorists are urged to use the new parking coupons for parking. There will be no more parking tickets issued to the motorist.
5 What are the benefits of the Coupon Parking System?
1. Increase number of Long Term (Category B) parking lots. This will benefit long term users such as office workers and shop owners. 2. The Coupon Parking System will enable higher turnover of car park occupancy 3. Users will not have to look for a parking Attendant to pay for their parking tickets. 4. User has no more worry about lost parking tickets. 5. No more penalty charges due to unpaid / outstanding parking tickets. 6. The remaining unused coupon parking period / time can be continuously be used for other parking bays / area. 7. Monthly Parking Coupon (MPC) fee is standardized to RM50.00 per month. In the new Coupon Parking System it can be used for any car (not restricted to a specific car like before). It can be used in all car parks marked with green colour lot number in all area.

2. Category B (For Long Term use) Total maximum fees is RM4.50 RM0.50 for every hour or part thereof
3. Category A1(For Limited Duration parking) - Total maximum fees(maximum 2 hours only parking is permitted) is RM6.00 RM1.00 for each of the 1 st and 2 nd half hour or part thereof; and RM2.00 for every subsequent half hour or part thereof, for a maximum of 2 hours of continuous parking
4. Monthly Parking Coupon - RM50.00 per month Can only be used in car parks with green colour lot number/ long term parking lots throughout. *Note: These categories of parking lots are meant for short duration parking only.

It is an offence under Coupon Parking By Law if a motorist fails to perform the followings: 1) To display a valid parking coupon during the controlled period (Clause 5 of Bylaws) 2) To display parking coupon/s on the dashboard of the motor vehicle in such a manner that the entire coupon/s is clearly visible for inspection. (Clause 10(1) of Bylaws) 3) Displaying an invalid parking coupon (Clause 9(1) of the Bylaws) 4) Coupon is invalid if: (a) Coupon is torn, defaced or mutilated (b) Any of the coupon content is being altered or tampered) (c) Coupon validity period has expired (d) Coupon does not indicate the date and time of commencement (e) The value of coupon combination is insufficient to meet the prescribed fees/fees required. (f) A counterfeit parking coupon (Clause 9(2) of Bylaws)) By Law 36(1) The Mayor or any officer duly authorized by the Mayor may compound any offence under these By-laws by collecting from the person reasonably suspected of having committed such an offence a sum not exceeding RM500.00.
10 What happen to the parking tickets issued under the ticket parking system after the CPS is being implemented?
Public are still required to settle/ pay for the parking tickets issued under the previous ticket parking system. There will be no penalty / excess fees should the public pays up the outstanding parking tickets before they receive the Notice of Demand.* The issuance of the Notice of Demand would be instituted effective October 2014 and those offenders will be brought up to the City Court with a possible 20% - 30% penalty/ excess fees imposed upon them.

Each pieces of the parking coupon could last for 4 years under normal tropical weather condition. However, users are advised not to expose the coupon directly to sun light.
