Options for Printing This Document
There are no pages numbers however it is possible to print specific pages, a
given page range, or the whole thing.
To print the whole thing:
With the document open > File > Print > Properties (select colour or black and
white and draft to save ink) > OK
If there is a problem with the picture or words fitting properly on your page try:
File > Print > Properties to select quality as above > Look for Page Scaling and
set to Fit to paper > OK
To print a specific page:
With the document open > Choose the page you would like to print from the
index > scroll down left click and hold on the small tab at the top of the scroll
bar on the right hand side, hold down and drag the tab down the page until you
reach the one you would like to print > move the cursor over to the page and
click on it the cursor will become a small hand instead of an arrow > File >
Print > Current View you will see on the right hand side of your screen the
page you clicked on will appear > Properties to select colour and quality of print
> OK.

Body Parts Lesson Plan 1
Play a quick revision game for the previous lessons such as I spy, or Draw, or
Pictionary.
3 minutes
Introduce six or twelve words depending on the ability and age of your class.
Flashcards are provided for: arm, arms, ears, eyes, feet, foot, hand, head,
knee, legs, mouth, nose, shoulders and toe. Hold up the flashcards and have
the class repeat the words a few times each.
5 minutes
Play True or False starting with three new words and gradually adding in new
ones (listening).
5 minutes
Play Show me (listening).
5 minutes
Play matching and mirroring (listening).
5 minutes
Play Pictionary (speaking).
5 minutes
Sing Head Shoulders Knees and Toes. If you dont know this song see if you
can get a CD with it on. Its ideal for children from 3 to 10. Most older
children up to age 13 will also enjoy it, if they are not too sophisticated.
5 minutes
Play Duck Duck Goose using two different body parts for each turn. (Speaking)
5-10 minutes
Play Dancing Demons if you have a smallish class and/or Collect the cards
(provided) if you want a quieter activity (speaking).
10 minutes
Finish with a worksheet such as drawing the face for the younger ones or
crossword 1 or 2.

& Left and Right
Quick revision of words from previous lessons (e.g. Food lessons 1-4) with a
game of Hangman, or for younger children, Show me.
5 minutes
Quick revision of questions & answers from previous lessons with Question and
Answer, or Ladders (speaking variant).
Continue with the 12 words from Body Parts lesson 1. Add more if your class
can handle it. To revise play Simon Says simple version.
5 minutes
Play Hidden Picture (speaking).
5-10 minutes
Sing Head, shoulders, knees and toes again if you know it.
5 minutes
Teach left and right and play Twister with or without the sheet, (see variant
in game description).
5-10 minutes
Play Brainstorm with body part words, if necessary placing all the flashcards
where they can be seen as prompts (speaking).
5 minutes
Play Jungle Treasure.
5-10 minutes
Sing Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, if you know it, with the actions.
5 minutes
Finish with a worksheet such as draw the missing body part, or whichever
crossword you did not do in body parts lesson 1.

Simple Directions Lesson Plan
& Body Parts Revision
Revise Body parts lessons 1 and 2 with Simon Says, use left hand and right
hand and make it as difficult as necessary see all the variants in the game
description.
10 minutes
Play a miming game where a student mimes an injured body part and the class
name the body part. (Speaking)
5 minutes
Introduce Turn left, turn right, go straight on, stop.
2 minutes
Play Copycat Commands using the above directions, and incorporating actions
and left and right body parts as well.
5 minutes
Do some relevant actions to indicate left, right, straight on and stop and have
the class call out in unison what you are doing. You want the whole class well
rehearsed in these four commands: Turn left, turn right, go straight on, stop.

5 minutes
Play Directions let the pupils take turns to be Grandmother or the caller.
10 minutes
Play the Blind Directions game (speaking).
15 minutes
Finish with the pair work join the dots worksheet. One student (A) has the
house and the other (B) has only the dots. Student B gives A directions to join
the dots. The first few directions are given on the worksheet itself. Student B
must keep his or her sheet hidden. You will need to teach them the word
circle or dot for this, and they should already know colours.
