The SGC convened on November 18, 2022 for the quarterly progress and
accomplishments. The council has continuously work on the successful conduct on the
projects, with the expected accomplished outputs.
First in the target list was the successful conduct of the BRIGADA ESKWELA PLUS.
There were additional stakeholders identified, and major repairs were made through their
collaboration with the school. To name a few, the repair of tables and chairs in the
classroom, as well as acquisition of monobloc chairs. In addition, several doors and
windows were repaired and replaced, as well as the dysfunctional bulbs in the classrooms.
Another major repair was the comfort room. The council has approved, as per the hiring of
the outsource for the maintenance of the CR, as per the agreement between the school and
the PTA.
Second in the target list was the intensified implementation of the Localized (School-
Based) Learning Recovery and Continuity Plan. Both the Language and Mathematics
department spearheaded the programs for remediation and intervention. Project REAP
(Read, Engage, Accomplish, and Polish) for literacy, patterned from the ICARES of the
Zamboanga City Division, and MATH FACTORS (Focused Alternative Capacity Task on
Remedial Strategies). The objective of these programs was to address learning gaps on
literacy and numeracy which resulted from the pandemic. The programs were successfully
implemented on November 24, 2022 for the literacy, and November 4, 2022 for numeracy,
after planning and evaluation, following the action plans submitted of both departments.
The schedule of classes was conducted during the ICL, which is once a week, and resource
materials were provided for practice at home and during the conduct of the classes. Close
monitoring and evaluation on the attendance, outputs, and results, and submission of
results as per the agreed dates, which will be on January, after the 2 nd quarter test, success
indicator, MPS.
To help the teacher in providing intensified remediation and intervention, the school,
as per the AIP has approved the program Project MIND (Mastery in Instructional
Development), which aims to help the teachers with their instructional development plans.
Success indicators were SLAC and LAC sessions of the different LAC groups.
There were challenges met during the implementation and conduct of the different
programs, some were goals not met, particularly with the timeline, for some reasons, the
implementation was delayed and has to make several adjustments with some classes.
Some opportunities were opened especially with the professional development of the
teachers, more stakeholders were identified, and more pledges came.
Recommendation:
It was recommended that male students should wear white t-shirt and
trousers with their school ID, in place of the required school uniform, so the school
and authority can identify them as students of Curuan National High School.
Rationale:
Due to the recent incident of riot outside the school among junior high
school students, the PS2- Curuan headed by PSSG Dennis Murphy Lajawari, PSSG
Miriam T. Estrellas (Women’s Desk), and PSSG Noel Bautista together with the
GPTA President, Danilo J. Paragas, paid a courtesy call to the Head of School. It
has been recommended to the head of school that the male students should wear
white shirt and trousers with their school ID so that the school and authority can
identify them as students of this institution.
