On 11 April 2014, the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) of
China notified HO of four (4) additional laboratory-confirmed cases of h!man
infe"tion #ith a$ian infl!en%a A(H&N') $ir!s( )o date, there are a total of 418
laboratory-confirmed human cases #ith a$ian infl!en%a A(H&N') $ir!s, including
145* deaths( )his total n!m*er of "ases in"l!des t#o (2) "ases reported from the )aipei
C+C, nine (') "ases reported from Hong ,ong CHP and one (1) "ase reported from

imported from the mainland to Hong ,ong /A1, sho#s the potential for the $ir!s to
spread thro!gh li$e po!ltry, at this time there is no indi"ation that international spread of
a$ian infl!en%a A(H&N') has o""!rred thro!gh h!mans or animals(
*) F!rther sporadi" h!man "ases of a$ian infl!en%a A(H&N') infe"tion are e4pe"ted in
affe"ted and possi*ly neigh*oring areas, espe"ially gi$en e4pe"ted in"reases in the
