Punch list no: 032, D-304A/B H2 rich gas CHLORIDE ADSORBER

General comment, applicable for item 1 up to 5

1. H2 rich gas CHLORIDE ADSORBER D-304A/B has been designed based on
ASME VIII div 1 2010 ed. including all nozzles neck thickness calculation. For
this case minimum wall thickness of the nozzle necks have been calculated in
accordance with UG37 to UG-45 by using software (PV Elite 2011 licensee by
Petra Fabricators SDN BHD). Nozzles neck thickness was computed not only
based on internal pressure only, however include the following:
1.1External load as per WRC bulletin 107,
1.2 Opening integrity, etc.
See attachment # C-302 for back up nozzle calculation based on
ASME VIII (UG-45)
2. Nozzle sizing have been also verified based on Gas Condition and processing
book Campbell with the following constraint:
2.1Inlet nozzle->maximum 2500 lb./sqft
2.2Outlet nozzles (g)-> maximum 3600 lb./sqft
2.3Outlet nozzles (l)-> maximum 3.3 fps
See attachment #2, #3 summary of nozzle verification (Unit-300) for
back up calculation comparison for ID based Axens against as built
inside diameter based on Vendor
Item 1.

Feed inlet nozzle capacity (I1/N1) is remain same (372 kg/h) equal to 20.8
lb./sqft.which is still under acceptable level against 2500 lb./sqft. maximum

Additional pressure drop due to reduced inside diameter is too small, no

significant issue.

Minimum nozzle thickness can be calculated based ANSI B31.3 Provision of

sch. 40 (3.9 mm thickness) as suggested by Axens is acceptable however we
have selected sch. 160 (8.7 mm thickness) which still have no significant in
term of process reason

Please refer to attachment #1, #2, #3 for back up calculation

Item 2

Reflux inlet nozzle capacity (I2/N2) is remain same (687 kg/h) equal to 121.5
lb./sqft.which is still under acceptable level against 2500 lb./sqft. maximum

Additional pressure drop due to reduced inside diameter is too small, no

significant issue.

Minimum nozzle thickness based on ASME is 6.42 mm excluding 12.5% of mill

tolerance . Selected thickness is sch.160 (8.7 nominal thickness). Provision of
sch. 40 (3.9 mm thickness) is not acceptable based on ASME.

Please refer to attachment #1, #2, #3 for back up calculation

Item 3

Inlet from Reboiler nozzle capacity (I3/N3) is remaining same (4325 kg/h)
equal to 579.8 lb./sqft.which is still under acceptable level against 2500
lb./sqft. maximum

Additional pressure drop due to reduced inside diameter is too small, no

significant issue.

Minimum nozzle thickness based on ASME is 4.78 mm excluding 12.5% of mill

tolerance . Selected thickness is sch. 160 (11.1 nominal thickness). Provision
of sch. 40 (5.5 mm thickness) is not acceptable based on ASME.

Please refer to attachment #1, #2, #3 for back up calculation

Item 4

Vapor outlet nozzle capacity (O2/N4) is remain same (747 kg/h) equal to 49.8
lb./sqft.which is still under acceptable level against 3600 lb./sqft. maximum

Additional pressure drop due to reduced inside diameter is too small, no

significant issue.

Minimum nozzle thickness based on ASME is 4.73 mm excluding 12.5% of mill

tolerance . Selected thickness is sch. 160 (11.1 nominal thickness). Provision
of sch. 40 (5.5 mm thickness) is not acceptable based on ASME.

Please refer to attachment #1, #2, #3 for back up calculation

Item 5

Liquid outlet nozzle capacity (O3/N5) is remain same (4,325 kg/h) equal to
0.5 FPS.which is still under acceptable level against 3.3 FPS. maximum

Additional pressure drop due to reduced inside diameter is too small, no

significant issue.

Minimum nozzle thickness based on ASME is 7.1 mm excluding 12.5% of mill

tolerance . Selected thickness is sch. 160 (8.74 nominal thickness). Provision
of sch. 40 (3.9 mm thickness) is not acceptable based on ASME.
