Declaration to Sole Trader

This is to certify and make known as a notice to all whom it


may concern that I Sarah L. Davenport wife of Nathaniel
Davenport of the county of Park and Territory of Montana,
from the date of this notice intend to carry on business in my
own name and on my own sole and separate account for my
own be hoof and benefit in said County of Park. That I will be
from this date individually responsible in my own name for
all debts contracted by me by virtue of said business as a
sole trader. The nature of the business I intend to carry on
and transact is that of livery feed and sale stable, dealer in
general merchandise, dealer in real estate, buying and
selling horses and cattle and generally to transact any other
business as to me may seem proper and to my advantage.
I further give notice to all whom it may concern that the
following is a list of my separate property acquired by me,
separate from my said husband and not through him, to wit:
One undivided one half interest in seven horses, one
branded JC on left hip, one sorrel horse no brand, one sorrel
horse branded A.C. on the left hip, one bay horse branded A
on the left shoulder, one black horse branded A on the left
shoulder, one bay and one brown horse both having
“Spanish brand” on hip. Three milch cows, one red and white
color branded HK on right hip, two cows purchased of
Gravnis Estate, one finito mare no brand, one buckskin pony
branded NS on left hip & shoulder, one gray and one sorrell
horse branded on the left hip& left shoulder, one bay
horse branded on left shoulder, one gray and one sorrel
horse branded on left shoulder, one bay colt bought of
the Gravnis Estate, two calves not branded, one undivided
one half interest in a two seated carriage, one half interest in
two square box top buggies, one half interest in one
phaeton, one whole interest in one square box buggy, two
lumber wagons, three sets double harness, two single
harness; also two other saddles, also one Fisher and son
upright piano No. 70949. That I intend to hold all and
singular said property and the use, increase and profits
thereof as my sole and separate property, exempt from all
debts and liabilities of my said husband, and for my own sole
and separate benefit

On this 3rd day of November one thousand


eight hundred and eighty seven, personally appeared before
me, J.A. Savage, a Notary Public, in and for the said territory,
Sarah L. Davenport wife of Nathaniel Davenport whose name
is subscribed to the annexed instrument as party thereto,
personally known to me to be the same person described in
and who executed the said annexed instrument as party
thereto, who acknowledged to me that she executed the
same freely and voluntarily, and for the uses and purposes
herein mentioned; and the said Sarah L. Davenport wife of
the said Nathaniel Davenport having been by me first made
acquainted with the contents of the said instrument,
acknowledged to me, on examination apart from and without
the hearing of her husband that she executed the same
freely and voluntarily without fear or compulsion or undue
influence of her husband, and that she does not wish to
retract the executing of the same.

In Witness, Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and


affixed my official seal at my office in the County of Park the
day and year in this certificate first above written.
