Synopsis
A glimpse into Manilas independent music and film scene through the eyes of Mei Bastes,
creator of Meiday, a free-for-all independent music festival showcasing local independent
acts that ran from 2008 to 2012. After living in the capital for ten years, Bastes (known in
music circles as the Scene Queen) left Manila in November 2012 to go back to her
hometown of General Santos City.

Magdalena follows the life of a traditional midwife as she struggles to make ends meet to
care for her only daughter, Margie, who is afflicted with leukemia. Unsatisfied by the care
provided by hospitals and modern medicine, Magdalena turns to faith healers and
unorthodox religious practices to help her daughter. But now that Margie is pregnant, can
Magdalena put her faith back on modern medicine and entrust her daughter to the care of
doctors?

Superman, Batman, Spiderman, The X-Men - characters recognized all over the world,
gaining wider popularity through television and film. What may not be as well known is that
for several decades, Filipinos have contributed significantly to these and other characters'
mythologies.
'Illustrated By: The Filipino Invasion of U.S. comics' is a documentary tracing the
phenomenon of Filipinos breaking into the U.S. mainstream. The film aims to pay tribute to
many of these ignored, unacknowledged talents, and showcase their gorgeous artwork.

Set prior to a fracture in history, Lav Diaz's From What Is Before tracks lives in a small
village in the Philippines during the three-year run-up to then-president Ferdinand Marcos'
placing the country under martial law in 1972. The film reflects on the passing of a simpler
epoch complete with its emphasis on traditional rituals, relationships and values and
articulates an indictment of the emerging cynicism that would define a generation of gogetters holding the reins of power in the subsequent decades.

for the next Philippine Azkals who will undergo training for the 2019 World Cup qualifier.
More than 1000 boys from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao tried their lucks. Only 22 are
selected.
This documentary film is a story of dreams.
