This form shows the basics of Wing Chun hand techniques

Expands on Siu Lim Tao, incorporates basic foot techniques


Commonly known for its incorporation of the wooden dummy.
The dummy is used to better visualize your opponent
Translates to thrusting fingers and is the most advanced hand
technique in Wing Chun.
Important part of this form is to focus energy into single strikes
This method of sparring allows direct interaction between the
sparring partners. It forces the partners to feel each others
movements. Advanced Wing Chun practitioners have been known
to spar effectively with their eyes closed

Bruce Lee became a sensation around the


world, and began the process of popularizing
Eastern traditions and fighting techniques in
the West
The recent movies about the life of Yip man
have ignited interest in Wing Chun, and
specifically his branch

Yip Mans forms were seen by the world for


the first time when used by Bruce Lee in his
internationally acclaimed movies
Yip Man was further immortalized when a
trilogy of movies was made starring
practitioner Donnie Yen in 2008
Several other movies about Yip Mans story
and the origins of modern Wing Chun

Yip man initially did not teach his forms to


anyone other than his two sons, until moving to
Hong Kong.
His fighting style became very popular when it
became known that he was one of the masters to
Bruce Lee, a famous movie star and practitioner
He founded the Ip Man Ving Tsun Athletic
Association school in Hong Kong
Due to the recent movies featuring primarily
Wing Chun as a fighting style, interest has spiked
worldwide. Schools have opened in the UK,
Germany, The United States, Brazil, and Australia

With interest shown across the globe, it is


clear that Wing Chun fighting will continue to
live on and carry the traditions, history, and
philosophy with it to future generation
