Role: Screenwriter
Pre-production
At the end of October Margarita sent us to write
individually a possible script for the film. Each member
would show his work and the bet one would be chosen as the
official script. In this way, after determining a basic plot,
each member wrote his own script, and mine was chosen as the
official one. Then, on November 5th, Ester and I got together
and create the storyboard, based on my script.

Initial name of the script: OUT

Back story
Setting: High School (name never mentioned). The idea is to
simply locate the audience in the age parameter of the main
character, who can be around 17.
Characters:
Tom Robbinson
He is the main character, his name is never mentioned in
the film itself, but it is stated in the script to let the
actor know his name. He just turned 17 and he happens to be

new in this high school, therefore there arent much friends,

since it is the second month of the schools year.
Nevertheless, he is well known by his sleeping reputation,
mainly during T.O.Ks classes. Besides, the name Tom means
twin, which allows the character to be related to a
parallel world creating a correlation between his real self
and the one experimenting the nightmare. In other words, this
character has always been connected to a parallel world, but
just in dreams, which is proved by previous sleepwalking
situations. Additionally, his last name Robbinson is brought
up by the teacher in the second scene:

Certainly, this last name is highly joined with the main

plot, based on the fact that it inspired from Shakespeares
"Midsummer Night's Dream". The intention is to create the
connection right from the start with the introduction of his
last name. It would seem like Tom gets sleepy frequently and
in fact he does, his grades are not excellent, but he
maintains himself within the average. Additionally, he is not
of much interest for the teachers, apart from the fact that
he always falls asleep. At home, there is not much to be
said, apart from the existence of his parents, no brothers or
sisters and the constant sleepwalking, which was severer in
an earlier age. Furthermore, he always used to have
nightmares which included the Darknob, but thanks to a
psychological treatment the nightmares seemed to disappear.
This explained the first impression that this malicious
character bring to Tom, as if Tom has never met him before.
Undoubtedly, the Darknob always haunted him. Tom`s sleeping
self used t always cross to the other side, into his
nightmare, sadly his other side never got to fully return as
his real self at the end of the short film.
Darknob

This creature has always been tormenting Tom, since his

sleeping self always used to travel to this parallel world.
Besides, his description is highly output I the script in
order to help in the makeup and costume of this character.

This antagonist`s objective is simple: avoiding Tom to ever

go out of the nightmare.
Teacher
The T.O.K. teacher`s name is David Wilson, but it is
never mentioned. His apparition is extremely important
because he represents the direct returning of the main
character to the reality, allowing the illusion of a Dejavu
or a dream within a dream. Besides, in his personal life,
there are marital issues; hence his mood at early hours is
not great, which increases with Tom`s unfortunate sleeping
situation.
Jerry
Jerry is Toms classmate and friend since a short period
of time. In fact, they just have talked for two months,
because is the beginning of the High Schools year.

Bath monster
The monster presented in the bathroom, follows Darknobs
orders, but it is never mentioned. His shown power of sending
the main character into darkness is produced by the mental
control of the individuals mind, allowing the person to
explore his biggest fears or shocks (teachers death).
Besides, this monster is not fully shown apart from his hands
and mouth.

The little girl

This character represents the instance of hope for
Tom, because based on her normal features the girl seems as
the real worlds connection. In other words, this girl is in
Toms head and leads him to venture in the nightmare.
Besides, she is blonde and wears a dress.

Production
On November 12th in the second recess, the castings took
place.
