1.) Raymond Staub-Brazil City Firefighters- Raymond Staub presented the contract
between the City of Brazil and the International Association of Firefighters Local
#1453. The only changes in the new contract include a 3% raise, (included for all City
Employees), increase in number of recliners and beds to be included in sanitation
upkeep, surplus of sick day payout at retirement to be increased to $25 per day instead
of $20 per day, and training and tuition reimbursement be increased to $250 annually.
The contract is good for 3 years. Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the
contract as written between the City of Brazil, Indiana and International Association of
Firefighters Local #1453. Linda Messmer seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
2.) Approval of Wallace Invoice for demolition of Phase I homes All homes in Phase
I of the FEMA Flood Buyout have been demolished except for one home on 430 S.
Lambert. The purchase of this home on 430 S. Lambert will be finalized this month.
Wallace Brothers has presented an invoice in the amount of $84,200 for demolition of
homes in Phase I. Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the invoice from
Wallace Brothers in the amount of $84,200 for payment. Linda Messmer seconded.
The motion passed 3-0.
3.) Billy Goodrich-Tap Fees for Sewer Lines Wastewater Superintendent Billy
Goodrich, has been working on redoing the formula for tap fees for sewage lines. Billy
has created a better and consistent formula to set up fees per diameter size. Typical
residence fees will not change, but new businesses might incur a bigger fee. Linda
Messmer made a motion to recommend the changes in the tap fee schedule per the
ordinance. Ruthann Jeffries seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
4.) Billy Goodrich Inspection Fee for Sanitary Lines Wastewater Superintendent
Billy Goodrich would like to propose at $25 inspection fee of sanitary lines. Failed
lines allow groundwater into the sewage system, and then force the wastewater
department to treat clean water. Billy Goodrich would like a recommendation to the
Council for the sewer inspection fee of $25 tied into the Ordinance for inspection upon
transfer of property. The recommendation will be tabled for further discussion.

seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
2.) Utilities Office Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve. Linda Messmer
seconded. The motion passed 3-0.
