No innocent Muslim should be put to

difficulties in the name of ISIS
In Lok Sabha during
Question Hour, Home Minister
Mr. Rajnath Singh assured Mr.
E. Ahamed, leader of Indian Union
Muslim League, that no innocent
person from the Muslim community
jailed and put to difficulties in the
name of ISIS. Whenever such
matter will be brought to the
attention, he will take necessary
action thereof. When the question
of ISIS activities affecting India,
Mr. Ahamed categorically said that
all responsible organisations from
the minority community especially
my party and community condemn
the activities of ISIS as they have
exhorted community in the name

of Islam. Nobody will associate

with them. I assure on behalf of
my party that we will never allow
anybody to support ISIS. We will
always oppose it tooth and nail
because they are doing everything
against the principles of Islam. At
the same time, I would request
the Honble Home Minister to see
to it whether any innocent Muslim
has been jailed in the name of
ISIS activities. I want to inform
the Home Minister that innocent
people are now being jailed in
the name of ISIS. We will never
support ISIS. We will support
Governments action to oppose
and suppress ISIS. I want an

assurance from the Home Minister

that he will see that no innocent

no innocent Muslim youth will be

any action. Home Minister also

Put an end to communal agenda and

maintain communal Harmony
E.T. Muhamed Basheer M.P., Appeals
M. Abdul Rahman, Ex. M.P.,

The following is the excerpt

from the Parliamentry Speech
of IUML Member E.T. Muhamed
Basheer.
This country is having a
glorious tradition of communal
harmony, which is really founded
by Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma
Gandhi once said: Even if I am
killed, I will not give up repeating
Ram and Rahim, which means
to me the same God. With
these names on my lips, I will
die cheerfully. Those were the
words of Mahatma Gandhi. We
are proud enough to have born
in the birth place of Mahatma
Gandhi.
As far as this Government is
concerned, my only complaint
is this. This Government is not
discouraging communal hatred.
On the other hand, they are
encouraging communal hatred
for achieving their political ends.
Every day they are creating
controversies and are adding
fuel to the fire. Two or three days
back, a junior Minister made such
a statement. Yesterday it was
the turn of a senior Minister, who
made a statement on Bhagwat
Gita. Today it is conversion row.
Another row is coming, which
is linked to Taj Mahal. The BJP
leaders of U.P have made a
statement that Taj Mahal was
built in the place of a temple. Your
cultural nationalism debate is
also going on. (Interruptions)
THE MINISTER OF URBAN
DEVELOPMENT,
MINISTER
OF HOUSING AND URBAN
POVERTY ALLEVIATION AND
MINISTER OF PARLIAMENTARY
AFFAIRS (SHRI M. VENKAIAH
NAIDU): Hon. DeputySpeaker,
Sir, when we had come to
an agreement on the timing,

that has to be adhered to.

(Interruptions) We had come
to an agreement on the timing
and it has to be adhered to.
Unfortunately, many of the
people are discussing about
other issues. What is the topic
today what are we discussing?
(Interruptions)
HON.
DEPUTY-SPEAKER:
Shri Basheer, you come to the
topic about conversion. Do not
take long time because already
we were expected to complete
the speeches at 5 of the clock.
We are taking another 20
minutes. At least, at 5.30 p.m.,
the hon. Minister should be
able to reply. So, please come
to the topic about conversion.
SHRI
E.T.
MOHAMMAD
BASHEER (PONNANI): Yes, Sir,
please allow me just a minute
because I have just started
speaking.
There is a new controversy
about
the
Taj
Mahal;
introducing Sanskrit in place of
German in the CSEC Schools.
Love Jihad, was the trump card
for the UPA in the Uttar Pradesh
elections. So, these kinds of
controversies are cropping up
now. We have to put an end to
these controversies.
Sir, my friends were saying

January - 2015

about conversion to Islam and

something like that. I would
like to tell you that as far as the
Islamic ideology is concerned,
compulsion for conversion or
giving some offer for conversion
is anti-Islam. Islam does not
permit this kind of conversion. I
would abundantly like to make
it very clear. We will have to
think loudly. People may have
their own faith and ideology.
As far as India is concerned,
it is a multi-religious, multicultural nation. As far as we are
concerned, we are duty-bound
to keep it up. Conversion may
take place from one religion
to another religion but if you
make a programme of action
for conversion, that is a kind of
criminal offence. That is what
is happening in the country
now. I wish to say that we, the
people of India, who are having
a commitment to this value,
should work together to put an
end to this kind of an agenda.
With these words, I hope
that wisdom will prevail
upon everybody to condole
conversion
and
maintain
communal harmony in this
country. With these words, I
conclude.

Modi Must end Sangh Parivar Agenda

DMK President Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi cautions
DMK
President
Kalaignar
M. Karunanidhi said on Nov 25
that the inclusive government
promised by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi would be in trouble if
he did not prevent the Sangh Parivar
from pursuing its own agenda.
Replying to a question on
talks of compulsory Sanskrit
and Hindu nation, he said
the recent statements of the
Sangh Parivar leaders and the
governments decision to replace
German with Sanskrit in Kendriya
Vidyala349 had shocked those
who had faith in secularism.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader
Ashok Singhal has said that Sanskrit
should be made compulsory.
Many more things will be made
compulsory in times to come.
Sanskrit is the language of our
country. Everything was written in
Sanskrit thousands of years ago. If
you want to eliminate it, you want
to eliminate this country, he said.
Water Resources Minister Uma
Bharti took the argument further
when she said Sanskrit could, in
course of time, replace English as
a link language which everyone in
India would understand. Sanskrit
is a truly national language. In
every village of India, you will
find two or three people who are
extremely knowledgeable about
Sanskrit. The same cannot be said
of English. The fact is that there
are more people in India who can
speak and understand Sanskrit
than people who can speak or
understand English, she said..:
But till such time that Sanskrit
becomes a popular and commonly
spoken language, we will have to
depend on English. It should only
be a matter of time, she said.
Kalaignar said the Hindu
Rashtra, Sanskrit and Sarawathi
the agenda of the RSS and the
Sangh Parivar had manifested
in RSS chief Mohan Bhagwats

statement that India is a Hindu

nation and Vishwa Hindu Parishad
leader Ashok Singhals assertion
that proud Hindus had come
to rule Delhi after 800 years.
On
attempts
to
impose
Sanskrit after BJP assumed
power at the Centre and criticism
against it, the DMK chief said
it would be good for Modi to
wriggle out of such accusations.
While PM Modi has been
calling his government inclusive,
the speeches of leaders from
the organisations which are
backing the Centre have come as
shocking for people who believe
in secularism, Kalaignar said.
He was referring to the speeches
delivered by leaders of VHP and
other Hindu organisations at
the recent convention in Delhi.
Kalaignar referred to the
editorial in `The Hindu (Tamil) on
November 24 which stated. In
the era of globalisation, science
and technology remained as the
important forces determining
language. In the circumstances of
the domination of English in these
fields world over, the government
had no plans to prepare Indian
languages to face that challenge.
But, this e government even
while embracing globalization on
the one side desired t back to
Vedic period on the other side.
The Prime Minister should put
an end to the Sangh Parivars
agenda before it becomes difficult

for him to handle, he said.

DMK
President
Kalaignar
on Nov 25 said the ADMK
government had acted very late
in announcing the Global Investors
Meet (GIM) scheduled next year
as many States had already
targeted investors in Tamil Nadu.
Reacting to the governments
announcement that the GIM would
be held during May 23-24 next
year in Chennai, Kalaignar noted
that the conference was originally
scheduled in October but got
delayed in the wake of unseating
of ADMK leader Jayalalitha as
Chief Minister following her
conviction in the assets case.
When the Assembly general
elections are due in the next one
year, there will be no or little
use in conducting such a meet.
There were streams of Ministers
and teams from other States
visiting Tamil Nadu and inviting
investors in the State to invest in
their States. Karnatakas Congress
Chief Minister Siddharamaiah
visited Coimbatore in January this
year and succeeded in getting
investment of Rs. 12,000 crore
from about 200 entrepreneurs
of Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode
and other western districts.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister
Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited
the city on August 28 and wooed
entrepreneurs.
Pitchforking
himself as the CEO (chief
executive officer) of the State,
Chouhan urged industrialists in
the region to invest in his State.
Our industrial policy is investor
friendly. We can give power on
a 24X7 basis to industries, the
law and order situation is good,
we have created a land pool,
about 20,000 hectares of land is
available and we can give it easily
to industries, promised single
window clearances and industry-

without having an appointment,

you wont face any problems when
you come to our State, A Minister
from Andhara Pradesh also visited
the State and invited the investors
to come to his State. The Chief
Minister of West Bengal Mamata
Banerjee, this month, sent a team
of senior officials to Chennai to sell
the industrial potential of her State
to industrial investors in Tamil
Nadu, which was followed by the
visit of Gujarat Finance Minister
Saurabhbhai Patel who promised
investors uninterrupted power
supply if they set up business
there; that when it comes to
power we are way ahead of other
States in the country. We will never
have deficit.Gujarat had surplus
power and vibrant energy sector.
The State required 13,000 MW of
power, but had an installed capacity
of 22,000 MW. We want to give
more thrust to the service sector,
especially IT/ITeS. As per the
electronics policy, the government
will offer 100 per cent subsidy on
Central Sales Tax and VAT refund
equal to 90 per cent of capital
investment made for expansion
of
existing
manufacturing
units,
Saurabhbhai
said.
In this situation, now Tamil Nadu
Chief Minister 0 Panneerselvam
has invited the United Kingdom
to the Global Investors Meet,
proposed to be held here next
year when Secretary of State
for Business, Innovation and
Skills, United Kingdom, Vince
Cable called on him. A delegation
from the US, led by South
Carolina Governor Nikki Haley,
called on him at the secretariat.
When various States had
been eyeing Tamil Nadu for
attracting investors to their States,
Panneerselvam has invited the
investors from UK and USA like
bolting the stable after t horses

friendly policies,, investors can

meet me every Monday even
