    ThesecondphaseoftheredevelopmentoftheMilwaukee
    IntermodalStationwillbeginnextmonth.The$18millionproject,
    whichhasbeenintheworkssinceasearlyas2005,willbea
    significant,longoverdue,upgradetothemorethanfortyyearold
    trainshed.Thedrivingfactorsbehindtheprojectistobringthe
    trainshedintoADA,fire,andHomelandSecuritycomplianceas
    wellastomatchthetrainshedtotherestofthefacility.
    AlthoughthisprojectisnotpartoftheCityofMilwaukees
    oversight,attheSeptember1st,2010meetingoftheMilwaukee
    CommonCouncilAldermanJoeDudzikbroughtaresolution
    forwardthathaditbeenapprovedwouldhaverequestedthe
    statedelaytheprojectuntilafterthegubernatorialrace.
    AldermanBobBaumanrespondedtoAldermanDudziks
    resolution,byexplainingthatsince1965thetrainshedhasnt
    seenanupgradeofmuchsignificance.Hepointedoutthe
    structurehasrustingsteelmembers,crackedandbroken
    platformareas,andwentontosaythatanyreasonableperson
    wouldagreethisfacilityissufferingfromdeferredmaintenance.
