Vocabulary: toothache, dentist, doctor, young, remember, ketchup, mayonnaise, only,
chips, fruit, frogs.
Fixed expressions: Lets have a look, very much.
Teaching aids: Wall picture 8, CD, Pictures of food/ Disney characters/animals/cars,
picture of a dentist, computer.
Background knowledge: Mr. Microbe and Miss Decay: names given to germs infecting the
teeth.

3.4 READING ACTIVITIES


Students.

Answer the focus questions.

Open their books and repeat after the teacher.

Number the speech balloons. Teacher calls out a number. Students read in
chorus.

Teacher starts a sentence. They complete it.

Teacher deliberately makes mistakes while reading. Students are asked to

correct them.

Teacher leaves out a word/phrase( e.g. he likes/ likes.. ).They highlight it.

Teacher describes a sentence .Students spot it and read.

Class is divided into five groups. Each group takes one role. (TONY, MOTHER,
DENTIST, MR MICROBE, MISS DECAY)They act out the dialogue in chorus.
