The Last Remnant is a bit more of a complex game compared to other turn
based
RPGs. The basics of battle are actually a bit more complex than what
merits
them being the basics.
Your party consists of you, Rush, other generals of your choice, and Athlum
Soldiers, which can be hired at the Recruitment NPC in Athlum.
Your generals are the real backbone of your party, providing most of the
power,
HP, defense, and life of the union. Every union must have a minimum of
one
general in it. Rush must always be in a union (even if he isn't leading,)
he
must always be in battle.
Battles will be the main thing you spend your time doing while playing The
Last Remnant. Around, literally, 95% of your time playing the game will be
battling.
Unlike most RPGs, you do not need to gear any of your other players. They
will take items that they need when they drop from monsters; of course, you
can stop this process and take the items for yourself.
Most battles are fairly difficult once the game begins to pick up pace.
You
will generally be chaining 2 or 3 monsters together, minimum, to save
loading
times. Sometimes when you're feeling risky, you may end up doing chains of
over 10!
You do not directly command your units. You give them general commands,
and
they carry them out. By pressing X while selecting commands, you will be
shown what commands exactly will be carried out, but you have no control
over
what actually happens.
The amount of people you can use increases over the course of the game.
When

you first really take control of Rush, you can only have 3 characters (all
of
which are generals), and two unions. This eventually increases to five
unions,
and 18 people in battle -- up to 6 generals.
Quests are the main drive of this game. If you try to go through just the
story, you won't make it. Your characters will simply be too weak to hold
a
candle to the monsters you will fight. Quests are most commonly found at
Pubs,
but a consistent thing amongst all quest givers is the red bubble over
their
head with a "...!" meaning they have something important to say. If you
are
at a loss for where to find quests, one of two things can be done:
1.) Hire a Unique general. You can see these when you're in the
Recruitment
screen in the guild and there's a description of the general.
2.) Talk to the bartender's assistant. If he says something along the
lines
of "nothing is happening," then, most likely:
- You finished all the quests you can currently undertake.
- The only quests left are given by special generals, generally not found
in
pubs. (These generals must be recruited by you for you to recieve special
quests.)
Soldiers hired at the Recruitment officer in Athlum have many different
strengths. Generally, a soldier only has access to one type of special
skill,
and later in the game, they'll be proficient in two. For example, you may
find a mercenary that is good with Herb skills, but doesn't have any melee
skills (which you can learn through having them fight.)
You don't (exactly) gain levels in The Last Remnant. After every battle,
you
will get a list of any stats or skills that have leveled up or been
acquired,
any items that have been strengthened, which, in turn, decides what your
"Battle Rank" is -- Battle Rank can be thought of as a collective level
between all of your units, and as such, if you use multiple soldiers and
generals, your individual characters would be weaker than if you used just
generals and had only one or two unions.
In general, in normal battles, it is best to have multiple unions, as you
normally fight a large number of monster unions, making it easy for them to
attack you from the Flanks, or even Rear Assault, and rarely, a Massive
Strike.
Deadlock: A head-on attack between two unions. Breaking deadlock is a good
way
to get yourself Raidlocked or Rear Assaulted, depending on your actions.
Generally not recommended unless you absolutely need to.
Raidlock: A long-ranged-head-on-strike, in which, one union was trying to
stay in place, and another union forces it into deadlock. The union that
forced deadlock recieves a damage boost. The most typical cause of this is
the commands "Get Your HP UP" (when it breaks deadlock,) "Stay On Your
Toes,"
and "Heal The Others" (when it breaks deadlock, mostly)

Multi-Deadlock: Large monsters and bosses can do something very annoying

called
Multi-Deadlocking. This means that they can frontal strike multiple
unions
(generally 3,) and counter attack. This can be dangerous when a boss will
deadlock 3 unions and use Area of Effect (AoE) attacks, sometimes this can
wipe out all of your unions at once, making for a quick gameover.
Flank Attack: To Engage in a Flank Attack, a union must already be
deadlocked.
Bosses can be flanked usually after 3 unions deadlock them, or through
the
command "Wait for a chance" or "Strike from the Sides!" Being flanked
means
that the person being flanked takes additional damage, and doesn't get a
turn
to fight back.
Rear Assault: After 2 unions flank another union, a third union will do a
"Rear Assault." This has a massive damage boost. If you break deadlock to
deadlock another union, and the previous union attacks, they will
automatically
Rear Assault you, which can be painful. You can rear assault bosses
through
the command "Strike them from behind!" which generally comes up after
flanking
a couple of times or after a boss breaks deadlock with you to deadlock
someone
else.
Massive Strike: The most dangerous of them all, Massive Strike happens
after a
union is deadlocked, flanked twice, rear assaulted, any additional unions
will
do a Massive Strike, resulting in frightening damage increases, and
usually
certain death. Massive Striking a multi-deadlocker doesn't seem to be a
possibility. You simply never have enough unions.
Having multiple unions reduces the chances of recieving flank and rear
assaults
during battle, and usually eliminates the possibility of a massive strike
when
you use 4 or 5.
====
2.00 Side Quests
====
Side quests are VITAL to this game. You should do them, all of them.
Otherwise, you will have issues with beating the game. Big time.
To find sidequests, go to a Pub, and talk to the bartenders assistant.
They'll
tell you the talk of the street, and if they say something along the lines
of
"Life is boring" then there are no sidequests available.
Honestly, once you get to the part in this guide where side quests open up

(Around Celapelais,) you should check back after each story event (every
single
9.XX progression. Seriously.) Side quests take you to places in the game
you don't even go to normally! I will explain this later.
How to read this section:
First, a number is given to the sidequest. This number is based on the
order
that -I- did them in at their earliest possible availability and
completability.
This means that YES, these are done in succession. If I say that quest 15
is
available after you clear the Catacombs in Elysion, that means, unless
otherwise
indicated, quest 16 is also available at that point and may or may not rely
on
having completed quest 15.
Obviously this is under construction.
If I list a town name, that means the quest giver is in the towns pub.
Otherwise, I will say where the giver is at.
2.01 A Days Beginning - Athlum
This sidequest is done in the main story.
2.02 Baulson - Athlum
Availability: Immediately after quest 2.01.
You will automatically be transported to the Gaslin Caves. Walk to the end
of
the cavern (same place you went with Blocter) and you will fight a boss.
It's
easy. Just have Rush attack the minions and have Baulson engage the boss.
The support should die in one turn.
I suggest you hire Baulson after this.
2.03 Mr. Diggs - Celapaleis
Availability: Talk to the craftsman in Celapaleis, then he will go to the
inn.
You will automatically be transported to the Gaslin Caves. Walk up the
path
past the Rosefly's, then you will see a dig point on the wall. Check it,
and
this quest is finished.
====
After you talk to David and he tells you that Congress will hold a meeting
====
2.04 Athlums Witch - Town Square
She's right next to the recruitment officer.
you
some items.

She asks for 500g and gives

2.05 Bravery and Loyalty - Athlum

Talk to Emma in the pub (make sure you've hired soldiers.)
This will take you to Robelia Castle. A new path is opened up. You will
go to
the second floor. Go left, and at the end of the left path you will find a
map,

continue around to find more treasure/dig points. You will end up near
where
you came in from. Go downstairs. You already have the map for this area.
Just walk to the furthest room.
Boss: Soldier + 2x Darkwings
This battle can be a fair challenge. The Darkwings cast curse, a status
ailment which causes your characters to die at random. They only cast it
once,
though. The most basic strategy is to have your unions storm the boss and
just
take him out as he will drop in two turns. If you have your mind set on
killing
the Darkwings, make 3 unions and have each engage each enemy union.
2.06 Celapaleis Witch - Grants Way
Just go to the first area in Celapaleis.
gives you items.

She asks for 1000g this time, and

2.07 The Dreaming Rose - Celapaleis

You will be transported to the Ivory peaks. Walk down the path, and take
the first right you possibly can. One you do, turn right again and head
down
the path. You will get the area map. If you go to the opposite side of
the
depression, you will get a new weapon for Torgal (he will take it at the
city/
world map.) To finish the quest, go to the far corner of the depression
that
ends with a flat wall. You will fight an easy boss.
====
3.00 Guild Quests
====
Guild Quests are very basic. They're in a few categories: Fetch Quests,
Monster Killing, Rare Monster Hunting, and Leadership quests.
Fetch quests are quests in which you get certain items.
Monster killing requires you to kill xx amount of monster **** in base
####.
Rare Monster Hunting requires you to kill a rare monster. There are rare
monster faqs, so refer to them for more information.
Leadership quests require you to meet certain requirements, like have a
party
member with 26+ STR, or have a "Swashbuckler" in the party. I don't have
any
clue how to get a lot of the classes you are asked of in this game... so, I
can't really help you there.
Guild quests reward you with money, formations, blue prints, and "Weekly"
items, all of which will be useful. Do them at whatever point in the game
when you're bored or short on cash.
====
4.00 Places to visit outside of the main story
====
Oddly enough, the main storyline in The Last Remnant only takes you to
about
one-half of the World in The Last Remnant. This is how you get to other

places:
Balterossa: When you get to Elysion for the first time, talk to the
bartender
and ask about Neighboring cities. You will have to cross the southwestern
plain to reach Balterossa.
The Great Sandsea: When you get to Balterossa, go to the pub and accept the
quest about the ghosts in the Sand Sea. Even if you don't finish the
quest,
you will have access to the Great Sand Sea.
Lavafender: Once you get to the great sand sea, go to the exit that is left
of
the entrance (really far to the left.)
Royotia: Pass through Lavafender.
The Great Subterrae: Accept a quest in Royotia to reach this place.
Vale of the Gods: Pass straight through The Great Sandsea (go south) to
reach
Vale of the Gods.
Baluuk: Pass through the Vale of the Gods to reach Baluuk.
Crookfen: Accept the quest in Nagapur to search for the maiden.
place you in Crookfen.

This will

Melphina: Cross over Crookfen to reach Melphina.

Siebenbur First Path: Talk to the Warrior Qsiti in the Golden Chalice guild
at
Celapaleis for access to this area. Can be accessed once you talk to David
about the summon to Congress.
Siebenbur Third Path: Talk to the Warrior Qsiti in the Undelwalt Golden
Chalice
guild.
Siebenbur Fourth Path: Get Roberto's quest in Melphina.
Siebenbur Fifth Path: Get the quest to find the Arco Iris.
Royotia.

Seibenbur The Second Path: Talk to the Yama behind the special shop/special
guild in Athlum
Darken Forest: You can accept a quest in Celapaleis to gain access to the
Darken Forest in Disk 1.

====
5.10 Skill info
====
In The Last Remnant, you get a lot of skills. As you continue to use
skills,
they become more powerful -- they level up, and sometimes, get additional
attributes. Leveling up skills have different effects on them.
- Leveling up physical attacks increases the damage.
- Additionally, physical attacks can get "Might," "Nimble," "Peerless," and
"Swift," which buffs the attack. Might adds damage. Peerless adds a lot
of
damage. Nibmle adds speed. Swift adds a lot of speed.
- Leveling up healing magics increases the amount they heal. Same goes for
items.
- Leveling up skills like Refresh, Rejuvenate, Kiss of Life, and Second
chance
make them cost less AP.
- Leveling up skills like Poison Gas, Dispirit, make them deal more damage
and
make their effect more powerful/more likely.
- Leveling up Psionics makes their effects more powerful/more likely.
====
6.00 Unique Leaders
====
This is under construction.
This will cover leaders you do not get naturally in the game.
Baulson - Hire at Athlum after finishing his quest.
Baulson is a very powerful general. Torgal and him are easily the two most
powerful in the game, though people can't agree on which is the stronger.
Loki - Hire at Athlum after receiving after the summon to Elysion.
I don't really like Loki. He gives you a quest in the second disk which
gives
you an achievement. You don't need to hire him in the first disk to gain
access to the quest.
Caedmon - Hire at Batlerossa.
Caedmon is a very useful and versatile general. He's not as powerful as
Torgal
or Baulson, but he's definitly up there. He also gets Remedies, which
allows
him to be an effective healer. He has effective magics as well (silencer
is
really good throughout the game)

====
9.00 : Walkthrough
====
So, you press new game, and then after setting the options, of course, you
get
the introduction video.

Then, after the intro, you're launched into the introductory battle -don't
worry, you can't possibly lose this. After the first round, David will
shoot
the Gae Bolg, effectively eliminating everything on screen.
More stuff happens, and you find yourself alone with Emma. She'll explain
treasure chests to you, and you get your weapon. Then you will go through
some Basic fights and about how pushing R2 allows you to activate battles
when you're close to monsters. Walk towards the light (No, you're not
dead.)
Then, you'll fight a boss, who probably won't even hit you. You'll go a
few
rounds then get a special battle command, and it'll die.
Go out, and you'll get to the world map.
====
9.01 - World Map
====
The world map in The Last Remnant is similar to Final Fantasy Tactics,
without the random battles. You just hover over a location and select it,
and you will be put into the location. Towns have a very distinct look; a
circle with their flag in it. Dungeons and fields show up as blue on the
map,
and strictly battle maps show up as Red, and cannot be entered unless a
story
event dictates it -- naturally on this line, you will never go to the
Yamarn
Plain ever again.
====
9.02 - Athlum
====
You will start off in Xiphos Way in Athlum, and Emma will leave you. This
is
your shopping district. The weapon shop will have a picture of two Swords
crossing over it, the item shop will be a Pot or a Leaf, and the Item Forge
will have a smith hammer as the picture. You cannot use the Forge yet, so
just go to the weapon shop. Now, you have a choice, and I suggest you pick
one and stick with it:
One-Handed: You can use one-handed weapons, equipped with a shield or not.
If
you use a shield, you will have additional evade and magic evade, and the
possibility of preforming a Shield-Bash, which is a bit weaker than a
counter,
but does cause Black-Out on a foe. If you do not use a shield, you will
chance
to Power-Grip, which makes you a little bit stronger, but also allows you
to a
cces 1-handed and 2-handed Sword Skills.
Power-Grip: Mainly, Two-Handed Swords fit this category. They will be
significantly more powerful, even if the attack is the same, but attacks
take
longer to execute. You cannot use one-handed skills with a Power-Grip
weapon.
Dual-Swords: Equipping two One-Handed weapons will allow you to dual wield.

This gives you access to one-handed, power-grip, and dual wield specific
skills
and is the strongest wield style, however, you will probably go last every
turn, and it will be very rare for you to dodge (but your counter attacks,
holy hell will they deal damage.)
Polearms: Polearms are Spears and Rods. They get the same skill setup, and
Spears are also fairly powerful. Rods are mainly for magic casting, but
you
can still use skills.
Well, your decision can be delayed for a bit if you don't really know. I
used
Two-Handed Swords the entire game through, and ended up hitting for about
10,000 damage a hit at the end.
Anyways, press the back button to call up the city map, and go to Virtus
Parish. There will be a pub here. Go inside it, and you'll notice a
"...!"
bubble I mentioned before. Talk to the bartender. And uh, this
bartender...
well, he's a bit... flowery... anyways, he'll end up telling you David is
in
the castle. You can pull up your map again and access Athlum Castle.
Talk to David, and then you'll have an option between going with Blocter or
going with Pagus. Blocter takes you to the Gaslin Caves, the easiest
location
in the game. Pagus takes you to Robelia Castle, which is a fair bit more
difficult and mobby than Gaslin Caves. You can go to either one. If
you're
unfamiliar with RPGs, definitely go with Blocter, the big ugly Yama thingy.
If you want to start off with a little more of a challenge, go with Pagus,
whom will also provide you with an Orb that allows you to use Invocations!
You will learn the magic "Spark" with this orb, and eventually you will end
up
learning very powerful AoE spells.
====
9.03 Gaslin Caves
====
This area is very straightforward, especially since Blocter provides you
with
a map. Obviously, you need to go to the furthest area to end this base,
but
go off into the side tracks to find some treasure chests. The monsters
here
are just Rosefly's and Manticore's. Very easy enemies, and to add to that,
they're weak to physical damage, so just try not to get surprise attacked
and
you'll be fine. The Manticore's will dig themselves up out of the ground.
They cannot engage in battle until they're fully out, but be sure not to
get
surprise attacked.
At the end of the base there will be a boss fight, preceeding a peculiar
green
orby gyroscope thingy. This isn't a treasure chest, it's actually a

teleporter. It will warp you to the World Map if you so wish, however, we
want the boss fight! Let Blocter's union target the actual boss itself
(it's
hp will be displayed as -???-,) and let Rush's union pick off the small
fries.
After the battle, head back to the teleporter, and go to the world map,
then
Athlum. Talk to David in the castle, then you will be off to Robelia
Castle.
====
9.04 Robelia Castle
====
At the beginning of this base, Pagus provides you with an Orb which will
allow
you to cast magic. Magic is a useful asset in this game, and until you hit
the second disk, magic is -generally- stronger. This Orb only allows you
to
use the "Invocations" set of magic, though. You will be obtaining orbs
mainly
from Side-Quests in the game, the last one being in the second disk,
allowing
you to cast Psionics.
If you go right or left, you will find some battles that are a little more
challenging than Gaslin Caves. Just make sure not to let Rush get swarmed
by
monsters. Head up through the big doors, look around in this area for
monsters
and treasure, then head to the left. Follow the path down into a large
room
with two exits -- the north exit has a key remnant which unlocks doors, so
get
it, then proceed through the other door. The side opposite to the stairs
has
a treasure chest, so check it, then head upstairs.
I suggest saving now.
You will be in a long hallway, with 3 doors. The door to your left can
possibly hold a number of Chimera monsters -- be careful, this battle will
be
HARD. If you open the door and seem them, I suggest a hasty escape. The
door
to the right contains a chest. Follow up to the large doors at the end of
the
hall, opening this will launch a boss battle.
Same way to fight it as before.
kill
the minions.

Let Pagus engage the boss, and have Rush

Once you finish, there will be a teleporter. Activate it, and go to

Athlum.
Talk to David, and he'll direct you to Dillmoor.
====
9.05 Dillmoor
====

At this point in the game, Torgal will ask you about your Talisman. You
will
find out that the Talisman allows you to slow down time. You can now use
the
Time Shift ability! Press the RB button to activate time shift. You can
now
mark monsters for encounters, then hit RT to launch a battle -- your time
shift
must be activate for the battle to include marked monsters. They do not
need
to be in encounter range, though. Another good thing about this
(potentially)
is that it also makes monsters "Vehement" towards Rush. They will follow
you
where ever. This will allow you to create massive chains! However, don't
do
stupid stuff. If you wanna try a large battle link, be SURE to save your
game
first.
If you head straight from the entrance, there will be a few battles to play
with, and a treasure chest. Heading left from the entrance will take you
up a
slope, and around to a bridge. Cross the bridge, there will be a
teleporter
before you. In MOST cases, the Teleporter is your cue to save it. To the
left
will be a boss fight. A fairly easy boss, at that. Take note to what he
looks
like -- this kind of monster will not attack you until you attack it, so
take
advantage of that. Take out the minions, then fight the boss.
====
9.06 Athlum: With Added Powers!
====
Now you're back in Athlum. You gain access to the union board, and can
have 3
units (and 3 leaders) in battle, amongst two unions. Go to the guild and
hire
people, then I'd suggest making one union of those 3 leaders (Rush + two
others.) The Guild is called Union of the Golden Chalice -- it is behind
the
pub in Virtus Parish.
The Guild also gives you Guild Quests, which are automatically added.
These
quests provide a special item, called Blueprints. The Union of the Golden
Chalice will give you Blue Print 1. You use these for high level item
creation.
Some quests will also give you "Weekly" items, which allow monsters of that
type to drop rarer loot. And finally, some quests (generally Rare Monster
Slaying) will give you new union formations! Spawning rare monsters is a
REAL
pain in the ass, as I've personally tried to spawn the Dominator like 100
times and never succeeded. Sometimes you'll luck out and they'll be there
on
your first run through of the base (to see if it is a rare monster, push
right
or left on the D-Pad and it'll move a cursor over the monster. Normal mobs

have their name in White. Rare monsters have their name in Green.
Ultimate
monsters have their names in Red.) Guild quests also provide money and
gears,
so if you can do them, do them. There is a rare components FAQ up on this
website, so, head over to it and search for the items you need and it'll
show
you what drops it or where you can dig it! Be sure to check the guild
tasks.
You've probably completed a few.
Now, head to the pub, and there will be a woman with a "...!" This is
technically a side quests -- however, you have to do it to progress with
the
game. This sidequest is loleasy, so just get it over with, and you'll
automatically return to the pub. You get rewarded. Talk to the bartender
and
he'll tell you about Celapaleis. Call up the World Map (press Back twice)
and
Celapaleis will appear. Additionally, you can go back to Dillmoor. There
was
a treasure chest behind where you fought the boss, so you may as well go
grab
it.
====
9.07 Celapaleis
====
Firstly, you will want to talk to the forger to your right. You will see a
small scene, then go ahead and check out the shops if you need anything
new.
Talk to the craftsman again and he'll tell you he needs some Light Metal.
From here, call the city map up and go to the Lamberro District, and go to
the
pub. You will recieve a quest here that is important!
Look for the person with the "...!" and take his quest and take Mr. Diggs
with
you. Now, you will be ported to Gaslin Caves. To dig, find a spot with a
bit
of a shine to it, generally with a "!" over it, then check it with A.
Mr. Diggs will come out and dig the spot, and you will get items (or
sometimes
you won't.)
After the first dig point, you will be warped back to Celapaleis and the
quest
will be done. A soldier with a "...!" will be in the pub to tell you that
you've been summoned by Lord David.
Before that, go ahead and check out the Apprentice Craftsman. You can now
have
them forge items! The items you need are generally kind of a pain to find,
though, and most forging takes place in the second disk sadly, but you can
still
do a fair bit of upgrading or creating in the first disk, so feel free to
do so.
Also, a guild quest that tells you to get "2x Commemorative Medals"
requires

you to Dissasemble 2x Broadswords to get the medals.

====
9.08 Athlum - David's Summon
====
A soldier in the Athlum pub will tell you that Lord David has summoned you.
Go ahead and talk to him when you're ready, you'll get guests, make sure
you
have hired some help by now, then call up the World Map. You now have
access
to Blackdale.
Save it.
====
9.09 Blackdale
====
Go into blackdale, a scene will play, then you will fight the boss Jager.
He's a fairly easy boss, but there will be a fair number of reinforcements,
so
if you feel threatened, take out Jager immediately. Boss fights generally
end
when all the unions with -???- are killed (all of the bosses.)
Now you can explore blackdale. To the right will be a big rock, which will
be
gone later (and you will be able to access a fairly difficult area if you
are
a low battle rank.) So go left. Your goal here is to go to the bottom of
blackdale, so likely going anywhere else will provide treasure chests or
digging points. Do note that some digging points are not always present!
Rare monsters will cause different dig spots to spawn, so you may need to
check back multiple times to dig up everything. Continue downward,
branches
off to the side whereever you wish. Make sure to save your progress before
entering new areas!
At the very bottom of blackdale will be a boss battle. This boss is still
pretty easy, but make sure to save it, and if needed, gain a few battle
ranks.
Do note the Fiery Idol has some AoE attacks, so if you swarm him with all
your
unions, he will damage all of them, which can be troublesome. But still,
this
boss is fairly easy, so just kill the minions, and refrain from
multi-deadlocking the Idol until the end. You'll return to Athlum.
====
9.10 Athlum - Summon to the Congress
====
In Athlum, you will see a soldier with a "...!" over their head. Talk to
them
to recieve a summon to Lord David. Go to Athlum Castle, and talk to him.
You
will now be heading to Elysion. Now you will recieve a boost to your
unions!

9 People in Battle, with 4 Generals. I personally used 2 unions, one of 5

and
one of 4, obviously. You can hire Athlum Soldiers in Town Square at the
recruiter, so talk to him.
Also, a note: Athlum Generals are honestly some of the best generals you
will
get in the game. Torgal is my favorite, he gets TONS of HP and is the
first
general to max out on STR. For end game content he also gets -reallypowerful
weapons really easily, and access to his special skills Cerulian Rain. I'd
use
Torgal and David throughout the game, Pagus is really good support as well,
along with Emma, however, I chose not to use Emma.
==== Spoiler Alert ====
Since you will probably see this even if you try your best to skip over it,
I
shall leetly code this spoiler.

NGDEKJHMUIOMHHQA

FEQDHJEIKJSELMKS.

Read each forth letter to decode this spoiler. Sadly I had foreknowledge
of
this and this is why I did not use the general.

==== End Alert ====

====
9.11 Ivory Peaks
====
This map is really straightforward (literally.) Just scout out the sides
for
some treasure chests and some fights. Nothing here is particularly
challenging
to fight, so just continue through the field, fight all of the battles, and
find the chests, you will reach the end fairly quickly.
To go through this map directly, just walk straight. You can go down into
the
chasm for some digs and chests and battles, and to see a Remnant on the
wall.
Watch out for the Royal Guard monster. It looks just like a Rosefly, but
has
close to 10k HP and uses Pinprick, which either deals heavy damage or
instantly

kills whoever it hits.

====
9.12 Elysion
====
Check around town for a bit, then head up to the Assembly Plaza to get to
the
Academy. In the academy you will see a woman with a "...!" at the front
desk.
She will tell you your parents are stuck in the Sacred Lands. You can talk
to
people in here, there will be one person that will give you Academy
Visistones,
key items that tell a story. I will include the entire story later on.
Go to Tula Street for more cutscenes. Then, go back to the Plaza, and head
up
to the Ark Gate. Talk to the lady with the "...!" and trigger more scenes.
You will now be in the Sacred Lands. This area is linear, no battles or
anything, so just walk through it. Check the devices to open stuff up.
Walk
through a massive door for a cutscene.
Now, back in Elysion, head to the Genaade District, into the Temple of
Elysion,
and talk to the person guarding the door. He will let you into the
Catacombs.
He will have a "...!" over his head to indicate you need to talk to him.
====
9.13 The Catacombs
====
Save it. The difficulty jumps at this point in the game. Normal mobs will
have more AoE attacks, and will black out people fairly often! Make sure
you
have people with Restore or Restorative Herb in each union!
First, head straight through the doors. Go to the Eastern door and open it
to
get to a new area. Follow down, and eventually you will go through a door
and
the doors will slam shut! You will be trapped. You have to kill all the
monsters in here to proceed. Fairly easy task. Just timeshift engage them
and wipe them out.
Continue onward, you'll soon come to an T-Intersection. To your right,
there
will be a foggy area; this fog makes you walk slow.
VERY annoying as
monsters
are -not- hindered by this, so they can easily ambush you. Continue
onward.
You will come to another room where one door shuts and another opens.
You will see a quisti, and two moth monsters called Nymphalidae.
Save it.
These moth monsters are actually really difficult.

They have lots of AoE

attacks. I suggest you timeshift, and tag one monster, run back, and
launch a
battle. Do this for all three monsters. If you're feeling kinda risque,
or
you're a fairly high rank, go ahead and chain them.
Continue onward, and soon you will get the map for the area. Use your map
to
see where you need to go, and to see parts that trail off the main path to
see
where potential treasure chests and digging points will be. You will head
into
a central room (other paths will take you to treasure so be sure to check
them
out!) You end up in a massive fog area with some monsters that can run
fairly
quick, so be sure to launch battles when needed. Keep going on, through a
set
of doors, continue down the path, and you will hit a room with a
transporter:
you know what this means by now. You will soon see a door being guarded by
four Albic Qsiti's. Make sure you have saved it, then engage them in
battle.
This can be a fairly difficult fight depending on the actions the enemies
take.
More cutscenes through the door.
and such.

Aww, Rush is so cute with his family ties

====
9.14 Emma
====
You'll be back in Elysion. Go talk to Emma with the "...!" over her head.
She
wishes to go with you (only you) to the Numor Mines. You will be taken
there
automagically. Now you have only Rush and Emma. I chose to split them
into
two unions so I could end battles quicker. The monsters here will be
significantly weakened, and will probably die in one skill/magic.
This dungeon is, to no surprise, straightforward. Go straight. On the
right
will be an elevator, go check the handle, then operate the elevator. You
have
to hold Up or Down on the analog stick. Sometimes the elevator will stop
moving, so just release the analog and push it again. Once you hit the
bottom
of this area you can turn right to get some stuff, then go back left to
continue on with the stage. Continue on the main path until you hit
another
elevator, which takes you to the Undeveloped Zone. You'll find another
elevator in this area. It will stop at multiple locations, so jump off and
get whatever is there, then go back to the elevator and continue downward.
If
one of the flying Dagon's gets onto the lift, you will be forced to engage
them. You can avoid this by being careful, but it's not really worth the
effort.
At the bottom, continue on the path, some of the side paths will contain
dig

points, and a treasure chest.

teleporter,
so yeah.

At the very end of the path will be a

Save it.
You may wish to combine Emma and Rush into one union for this fight. So
long
as one attacks and one heals you'll be fine. I kept them seperate and had
Emma constantly heal Rush while he fought the boss.
Enter the door, and you will see a scene, then be in a boss fight.
Namul Niram is a fairly easy boss. Just pound on it and make sure not to
die,
is all. Omni Strike whenever you can.
More scenes ensue, then you will go back to Athlum for more scenes! You
recieve an upgrade to 12 people per battle, 5 leaders. Go ahead to the
recruiter and recruit more people. At this point I used three unions of
four,
one union only having a single leader.
====
9.15 Heroic Ramparts: To Nagapur!
====
Call up your world map and the new area Heroic Ramparts will become
available.
If you so wish, when you enter, go left, up through the gate at the far
left,
then continue left. You will return to the World Map and now Ghor will be
accessible. If not, just continue upward through the gate. To the left
will
be a chest, then look for the other gate, and go to it. Look around for
any
dig points, and make sure to check around the gates for dig points and
treasure
chests. Through the second gate will be a number of Jhana's. They're
pretty
easy, but they do have access to more magics now. Continue onward past the
gate, search around, then head straight to the world map. Nagapur will now
be
unlocked.
====
9.16 Nagapur
====
You'll start out in Flussbahn. Walk down to the docks and talk to the
boater
with a "...!" over his head. Scenes, then you will need to go gather
information. You don't seem to actually need to do this, but yeah.
Call up the city map and check out both new areas, talk to Emma and Pagus
when
you see them there, tell them you've heard everything. Then you will need
to
go back to Sudenalm, you will see a person named Oswald with a "...!" over
his
head. Talk to him. Go back to Flussbahn. You'll see a cutscene. Now you
must return to Athlum. Emma will leave your party, so reorganize if
needed.

====
9.17 Nest of Eagles
====
Ok. So, on the world map you will now have access to the Nest of Eagles,
where
you will fight the conquerers army. God, this battle can be HARD if you
have
not been keeping up with sidequests! Make SURE you have at least 2 people
with
the Item Skill Vivification Herb! This resurrects parties/members. You
will
fight two bosses here, Castanea and Roeas.
Castanea is a big threat. His HP towers over 20k, he has Hammerspin,
Kilohit,
and Catapult -- ALL OF THEM ARE AoE ATTACKS! Catapult he can only use
while
Roeas is still in battle, but, note, once you kill one of them, the other
one
will cast a move called Overdrive -- this is a DANGEROUS skill. It allows
the
caster to take FIVE actions in one turn, usually meaning certain death for
whoever attacks the person. If you're lucky, you will get to use the Gae
Bolg,
which will help tremendously, however, they will recieve reinforcements,
which
can be excessively annoying.
I suggest taking Castanea down first. If you kill Roeas and Castanea uses
overdrive, it is very likely he will wipe you in a single turn by spamming
kilohit and hammerspin! Do NOT multideadlock EITHER of them when they
overdrive at ALL costs! Try to use area or magic attacks from afar, keep
healing, ANYTHING to keep as few units as possible deadlocked. I
personally
beat this battle on my first try (I was like battle rank 50 lol, I did
every
sidequests, I did massive battle chaining, etc etc.) but my brothers who
also
played this game were a lower battle rank and they got squished by
Castanea, so
be extra careful!
Roeas doesn't multideadlock, so preferably, take Castanea out ASAP, then
fight
Roeas. One thing you can abuse here is if a unit dies while in deadlock,
the
next unit will not be struck back (unless the boss is in multideadlock)
which
can be very helpful if you decoy with the guest union!
After this battle, you will see a very badass cutscene.
like 5
times!

I watched this

You recieve an upgrade! 15 people in battle, 6 leaders! Do note that 6 is

the
max amount of leaders you get! I did 2x leader + 3 Soldiers per union.
You
may want to try 4 or 5 unions if you like chaining battles to prevent

flank/rear attacks. You also recieve a new leader. I suggest using her,
she
gets a Remnant, and she has the skill "Hundred Flowers" which is very very
strong!
====
9.18 Return to Nagapur
====
At this point in the game, you will be going back to Nagapur. Go back to
where
you talked to Oswald, and you will see a set of stairs with the gate
opened.
Emmy will be at the entrance. Go down, talk to David, and you will enter
the
Aquaducts.
====
9.19 The Aquaducts
====
There is a difficultly jump here as well, so I suggest you be sure to have
gained some levels and finished off lots of quests. The aquaducts is a
fairly
simple base to get through, you walk a fairly straight path, and whenever
you
see a switch, check the switch, and continue walking. This consists of two
areas: the first area where you will be going over the high ground, then
the
second area where you will mainly walk through the bottom.
When you first enter, make sure to save it and make sure you stocked up on
Vivification and Restorative Herb components. Walk along the path, and
check
the device. It'll move a platform to you. Cross it, and walk down. You
can
take a left here to get some treasure. Continue on the straight bath and
you
will see some Barbossa. These are fairly difficult, they have Hammerspin,
and
can multideadlock! They also use bomb items, which in my opinion are
SEVERELY
overpowered. Bombs generally wipe out a union. Go down the path, there
will
be another platform to call, go across it. You can also take another left
so
that you can get some treasure and some dig points. If you continue down,
you
will reach the second area of the base.
This area is really straightforward. Go, climb down the ladder, walk down,
then climb up the other ladder. If you go straight you will fight a hydra
guarding a treasure chest. If you go left you will continue on. There
will
be another ladder -- don't go down it yet. Go to the left again and check
the
device to move the platform. Then, climb down, and go through a long
passageway. If you stay at the bottom, you will eventually get to the
final
area of the map. You can climb up some of the ladders to get treasure.

Once you reach the third area, there will be two crabs you can fight, then
a
ladder. Climb up this and check the treasure chest to recieve the
Defender, a
really really good two-handed sword. Save your game, and continue down.
You will see two large doors. Enter them to initiate some scenes, and then
a
boss battle.
In this battle you will fight a number of Harpylia. They're not too
challenging, but they do have the skill "Blaster," which is a real pain in
the
ass. It can instant KO a unit, paralyze, poison, and silence a union, and
deal
massive damage. I don't think it can actually KILL a union, however, it
can
do a lot of damage. Just engage each union with a union of your own, and
pound
on them. If you use 4 or 5 unions, have one stay back and heal the others.
This battle shouldn't be too hard to get through.
Some scenes will ensue, then you will be plunged into another battle. This
battle... well, this is probably one of the hardest fights in the game.
Seriously. This boss is freaking annoying, and has LOADS of HP.
The boss fight against Hell's Gate will probably take more than one
attempt,
and you have no chance to save after the previous battle, making it
additionally annoying. I found Cup of Celapaleis and the Cascade
formations
to be very useful in these battles!
When the fight starts, there will be a number of Hypno's. Engage them.
Rush's
union will be unable to do anything for two turns. He will try to use
omnistrike, but fail. The next turn, he will do something veeery nice...
Once you summon the Cyclops, you will have control over Rush again. Be
sure to
wipe out all the Hypno's before even touching Hell's Gate -- he'll idle
until
he's either attacked or until all the Hypno's die. Preferably, let the
Cyclops
Deadlock him first -- do note, Hell's Gate can multideadlock. Do your best
to
keep very few unions engaged with him. If you get the Option "Wait for a
chance!" USE IT. This will allow a union to Flank him so long as ONE union
is
Deadlocked with him.
Hell's Gate has a few moves:
Hellfire -- an AoE attack that will hit unions directly surrounding
himself.
This can deal a good bit of damage.
Blue Blazes -- his normal attack. This hits everyone in a union, so
naturally
Cyclops will take low damage, but full unions will take high damage.
Pandemonium -- this skill is horrible. He will Enthrall your unions. This
is
a new status effect -- it's kind of like confusion, only worse. The unions

will automatically attack the nearest party member, and will most likely
kill
them, easily. What you do when this happens is a command called "Save them
even if it kills them!" you will approach them, kill them, then resurrect
them. This is why you need max Vivification Herb components.
Grenade Impact -- A union attack that pretty much spells instant death.
Hell's Gate gets a LOT of attacks. He attacks at the beginning of the
turn,
usually with Blue Blazes. Then he attacks everyone he's deadlocked with.
Then he attacks when the turn ends, usually with Hellfire. However, if a
union
is dead, he WILL use Pandemonium. This will enthrall EVERY dead union! Be
careful! Heal, heal, heal! I do not know if he can use Pandemonium at the
beginning of a turn, but don't risk it. He can Enthrall your cyclops as
well,
so make sure to heal it while he tanks.
After you defeat Hell's Gate, some plot will unfold in scenes.
will
end up somewhere else...

Then, you

====
9.20 Wyrm's Keep
====
You will not be able to access this stage for a loooooooooooong time, so
make
sure to go around and gather up all the items! The base is very small,
it's a
square, with two paths leading off. On the right side, there will be a
path
with nothing in it (for now). At the top is where you want to go. A boss
fight will be here. Once you enter a chest will be directly in front of
you
with the map, so grab it and make sure to check around for dig points.
Once
you've gone all around, save it, and head north.
Now you will fight Jager, and his remnant, Lob Omen. Jager is not too
hard.
His beatdown attack is fairly damaging, but you can heal it. Have one
union
tank Jager and Lob Omen for now, and kill all the minions. Lob Omen is the
most dangerous thing in this battle: he has a few attacks, like Palsy
Skien,
which does massive damage and paralysis to a union. He has a special move
which I can't spell... it's not too painful but it hits the entire union.
Then he has one of the worst moves in the game... Snare Shot. Snare Shot
is
painful. It causes blackout at a VERY high chance. It has a decently
sized
AoE range, so if you multideadlock him, be ready to feel some pain... This
battle pales in comparison to Hell's Gate, but is still fairly difficult...
Just be careful with multideadlocks and you should be fine.
Rush receives an upgrade in this battle. He can now summon Cyclops and use
a
skill called Talisman's Gift: this will cast Protection on everyone in the
union, making them immune to one PHYSICAL attack. Each person in the union
will be immune to a single one. This is in contrast to Orphic Ward, which

Pagus can use, which gives a unit immunity to a single magic attack.
Orphic
Ward is veeery useful. I suggest you use Pagus.
After you beat the battle, you will return to Nagapur for some scenes.
Congratulations.

You are in the Second Disk!

====
10.00 Second Disk Walkthrough
====
So, make sure to install the second disk ASAP.
There will be some talking, then a scene. You will be in Athlum. You will
mess around for a bit, going back and forth. You will need to go to a
place
called Fornstrad. It'll appear on your map when you leave Athlum. I
suggest
doing this before proceeding with Side-Quests. Go to Fornstrad.
====
10.01 Fornstrad
====
You start out on a straight path, the Starry Cove, there will be a few
monsters
you can engage. After going straight for awhile, there will be a path off
to
the right with a chest and a dig point. Then go back to the main path, and
eventually there will be another path off to the side. Go to it, then
continue on the main path to get to the Realm of the Sea Monster. Walk
straight and there will be a big opening with some dig points. If you go
left, you will end up with a path off to the right with some more dig
points
and such. Go back to the main path. You will hit an intersection. To the
left will be a teleporter, so you know the drill. Go to the right down the
path, to the next area. You will see a scene, and in this scene you will
see
7 different people. They are now your enemies!
You will return to Athlum, and receive your final upgrade. 18 people in
battle. I prefer 2 unions of 4 with 2 generals, and 2 unions of 5 with 1
general. You also get a new general that has Kiss of Life, which is
infinitely
useful. I suggest making the healing squad have 5 people with very high AP
recovery so they can use Revitalize and Kiss of Life a lot.
Now you will need to go to Elysion.
====
10.02 The Academy
====
Go to the Academy in Elysion.

You'll get some scenes, then you go back to

Disc 1
Prologue: Opening Scene
As soon as you boot up the Remnant game. You'll go through a lengthy cutscene with Rush
searching for his sister on Eulam Island. Unbeknowst to Rush though, there's a huge war
stirring up down below. He sees Emma Honeywell, who he mistakes her for his sister; Irina.
This will lead into your first battle.
Although this battle looks complex, there's nothing too hard here. This battle is more of a
tutorial. Use whichever commands to take down the hostile units. In between scenes, you will
be given a quick tutorial on the game: From using Combos, Normal Attacks to the general
game mechanics such as saving etc. Soon, the battle ends and you'll go through some more
scenes. You'll get some background information that should answer some of your questions
and you'll see Irina's capture.

First Taste of Battle

Move along the cave path and talk to Emmy Honeywell. She tells you about treasure chests
and how to open them. Inside you'll find a basic sword, which you should equip. The second
time she stops she explains more about battles. A little bit up ahead, you'll face a monster.
Press
to initiate combat.

During this battle, you're introduced to the Morale Gauge. The gauge at the top that stretches
from left to right. Pay attention because the set of commands you're given will be based on
this gauge. The more the gauge is pushed to the enemy side, your attacks and defensive
power becomes stronger. You will see the bar became more blue and lees red. However, the
opposite is true as well: The more the gauge is pushed onto your side (more red than blue),
your attacks and defenses become weaker.
With that in mind, you shouldn't have any trouble finishing off the monster. After the battle,
head up a ways, which will take you smack dab in front of your first boss battle. This battle is
more or less a scripted battle. Any attacks you make, the boss will attempt to dodge. Keep
attacking him until you are able to perform Rush's signature move. Doing this move will end
the battle. With that, head up a little more. Once you get to the exit, you'll meet David
Nassau, Torgal, and Blocter. These characters will aid Rush in his quest to save his sister.

Athlum City
Welcome to Athlum City. Home to the great Valeria Heart Remnant. This is the first chance
you'll get to buy supplies such as weapons and items. You'll want some healing items for the
quests that you'll be undertaking. You can also buy a new weapon, but you may want to spend
your money on a shield.

When you've talked to everyone, head over Virtus Parish and enter the Warrior's Honor Pub.
Talk to the bartender on the left, the one with a "...!" over his head. He'll say that David
normally doesn't allow any common people to enter his palace. But with Rush, that's a
different story. So exit the way you came in. And a new location in Athlum will open up
when you look at the town map. This is your next stop.
At Athlum Castle you'll discuss the whereabouts of Rush's sister; Irina. Unfortunately though,
they don't know where she is. David does have two other possible places that Rush may want
to scope out. The first is the Gaslin Caves to the south, the second is the Robelia Ruins to the
West. Whichever you choose is up to you.

Gaslin Caves
You'll start off with some easy battles against giant flies. Move forward though the caves and
the tunnel will split off in two directions. The left side has another easy battle, followed by a
treasure chest with 300 gold and a dead end. Head back and take the path to the right.
The right passage has another fight, this one only slightly harder than the others. There is also
a treasure chest here with some healing items. Past this you'll find a group of slaves, guarded
by slave traders. This battle, unlike the others, is somewhat challenging. There are several
slavers, lead by a boss. You'll want to take out the minor slavers first, so they can't flank you.
You may have to heal one or more of your unions during the fight.
After the fight, speak to the newly freed slaves. They have no information about Irina. Use
the transporter here to get back to Athlum.

Robelia Ruins
The beetle-like creatures here are weak against the mystic arts, so use mystic arts attacks
against them. The first few battles are easy, and as long as you are paying attention you
shouldn't have any trouble. Go though the door and you'll face some slightly harder, but still
easy enemies. The right side of this room has a treasure chest with some healing items.
Move forward and you'll have a few more minor battles. You'll come to a room with two
doors. The first is a normal door, and behind it is a treasure chest with a key inside. The
second has a glowing rune on it which is opened with the key you just found. Past this is
another battle. You'll also find a treasure chest here. Head up the stairs.
At the top of the stairs, you'll see three doors. The one on the right has a treasure chest, the
one on the left has a battle, and the one straight ahead is the way forward. Going through this
door will start a cut scene.
After the scene you'll have the final battle of this dungeon. The hardest enemy of the group is
a guy with the oversize hammer. Kill off everyone else, and save him for last because he
takes the longest to kill. When the fight is over, use the transporter to get back to Athlum.

Dilmoor

Once you've gotten through the introductory dungeons you'll be asked to travel to Dilmoor.
On the way there you'll learn the "Timeshift" power. This allows you to stop time for a
moment. It is most useful for engaging multiple enemies in battle at once. You'll find three
dog-like creatures ahead, on whom you can practice this new ability. To the left of them is a
treasure chest.
On the way to Dillmoor you'll encounter many hostile creatures. You could run around or past
them, but it's a good idea to use this time to gain experience and money. Whenever you can,
start battles against several creatures at once so you'll get the maximum reward and
experience.
Just before you cross the bridge, you'll find a treasure chest with a Dillmoor map inside.
On the bridge you'll encounter a new type of enemy: Jhana Fighters. They aren't much harder
than other creatures, so try to fight all the ones you find on the bridge at once.
Once you get past the bridge, head to your left and you'll see a cut scene. You'll then have
another battle. You'll be fighting against vicious plants. The boss plant uses a poison status
effect, so be sure you keep your HP up by healing.
After this fight, you'll see a cut scene in Althum with David. Rush will choose to search for
Irina on his own. You will now be able to form your own unions, just as soon as you find
people willing to fight with you.
You'll want to stop by the Althum guild (the Union of the Golden Chalice in Virtus Parish).
Here you can check out various quests available, and you've probably already completed
some of them, which you can now turn in. You can also recruit union leaders here, your first
step to building a powerful group of warriors. You should be able to recruit two leaders here.
For now, place both of them in the same union as Rush. If you leave Rush as a one person
union, he will lack the HP to survive in battle and will be killed. This will force you to start
over from your last save. Avoid this fate and don't make a second union until your first one is
full.

A Day's Beginning and Baulson

Head over to the bar and you'll find a woman who will ask you to deliver a letter to the
Robelia Ruins for the quest "A Day's Beginning." If you accept this quest you'll be
transported to the ruins. Enter and you'll speak to a Weeping Yama and give him the letter.
You'll then be transported back to the pub. You'll receive 100 gold for your efforts.
In the pub you can talk to the monster hunter for combat tips. You can also speak to Baulson.
He'll give you the quest "Baulson." Only accept this quest if you have a few additional people
in your group. It's a bit too hard if Rush is fighting by himself. When yo do accept, you'll be
transported to the Gaslin Caves. Baulson will act as a guest union. You won't be able to issue
commands to him in battle, but he will assist you.
In the cave you'll find some minor monsters, but these should be quite easy. At the end of the
cave you'll encounter some kidnappers. As usual, go for the henchmen first, and save the boss

for last. This boss has a lot of HP, but low attack power. If you try to attack him first you'll
take damage from his henchmen for a long time while you're hacking down the boss's HP.
After the battle you'll loot some gold. You'll then be transported back to the pub, where
Baulson will give you a 500 gold reward. You'll also be able to recruit him into your group at
the Guild Hall.
You can then speak to the bartender at the pub, who will tell you about Celapaleis.

Celapaleis
At Grants Way you'll get your first look at Mr. Diggs, who you'll encounter later. Head over
to the pub and speak to the people there. You'll encounter a craftsman who will give you a
quest to collect metals. Mr. Diggs will join your party. He can collect resources for you from
resource points. This quest will then transport you to the Galsin Caves, where you've been
before. You'll only need to find resource point, then you'll be transported back to the pub. You
can now use the crafting shop at Grants Way.
After this quest you can speak to the Celapaleian Soldier in the pub and he'll direct you to the
castle in Athlum. You'll be ordered to go to Blackdale, where the flying remnant was spotted.

Blackdale
When you arrive in Blackdale you'll be thrown into a massive battle. You'll be in control of
your union(s) and you'll have David's two friendly unions helping you out. The enemies here
aren't hard to kill, but they attack in great numbers.
Focus on keeping up the HP of Rush's union. The allied unions will end up doing most of the
damage, but if Rush's union falls you'll have to start over.
When this battle is over, you'll find Rush inside a cave. You can either go to your left or right.
Although there are some monsters to the right, the left path is the way forward. After a couple
of fights you'll come to a passage that splits off, then dead ends. Here you'll find a resource
point.
Keep going and after a couple more battles you'll find a treasure chest. Past this is an alcove
with another resource point. You'll then come to the end of the map, and the start of the next
area, which is more caves and more monsters. Before you leave this area, be sure to save your
game.
At the area past this you'll see a cut scene. You'll then have a battle where you must defeat the
Fiery Idol. Of course the Idol has a whole army you have to fight as well. Take out the
henchmen first. Once you have them down, be sure you keep your HP up at all times, because
the idol will use some very powerful attacks that can bring your HP down quickly. David's
unions will be able to do a lot of damage, so don't hesitate to focus on healing Rush's union.

The Ivory Peaks

Once you leave the castle, speak to any soldier and you'll be told to head back there. You'll
then be ordered to go to Elysion.
Before you leave head to the town square where you can now recruit soldiers for your unions.
The maximum number of units you can have will also substantially increase.
To get to Elysion, you'll need to travel though the Ivory Peaks first. This area is a plain that is
filled with monsters. This is a great area to get used to fighting with multiple unions and level
up your new warriors. The two types of monsters here are Rose Flies and King Raptors. Each
of your unions should be able to take out a Rose Fly union in one turn, so have each union
target a different Rose Fly union. When fighting the King Raptors you'll want to have both of
your unions target the same union so you take them out as quickly as possible. There is a
canyon off to one side, and at the end of the canyon you'll find three treasure chests and a rare
monster called a Ground Cobra. The Ground Cobra is very powerful, but if you defeat it
you'll gain a large amount of XP and a rare upgrade item.

Elysion
In Elysion you'll see a cutscene, then have a chance to explore the town. Head over to the
Assembly Plaza and go into the Academy. From where you first appear at the Assembly
Plaza, go up the stairs ahead of you, across the walkway, down the stairs, and you'll see the
door. Go inside and you'll learn that Rush's parents have used the ark. You must learn this
information before the story can move forward.
At this time you can, if you want, you can start on some sidequests. You can unlock many
quests by going over to the pub (The Heveanly Terrace) and completing the quest "Secret
Letter". This quest requires you to travel across the Southwestern Road to Balterossa. In
Balterossa you'll find plenty of side quests.
To continue on the main quest, go to Tula Street. Here you'll see a cutscene showing the
Conquer as soon as you enter. If you don't see the scene, try doing exiting and entering later.
Or you can do a few sidequests and come back later.
After you see that scene, head over to the Assembly Plaza and speak to the Court Lady. Next,
head over to the Ark Gate. You'll see another scene.

The Sacred Lands

Head into the center of the starting room and you can try to bind the Ark, but you can't do it
yet. Head up the stairs and outside. Cross the bridge and you'll enter the next area. You'll see
a device you should use. It will open a path ahead of you which takes you to another device
that activates an elevator. Keep moving forward through this strange building until you get to
a large door. On the other side of the door you'll see a scene.
After this scene head over to the Temple of Elysion in the Genaade District. Talk to the Monk
Warrior there, who will unlock a door for you, which leads to the Catacombs.

The Catacombs

When you enter the Catacombs, be sure you save your game. You don't want to have to watch
the same cutscenes over again if you die.
In the first room you'll have to fight some Albic Qsitis. How hard they are depends on how
many sidequests and how much you've leveled up your group. Try attacking just one to start,
to see how difficult they are for you.
There is only one exit, so go through that door and go down the hall. At the end of the hall
you'll come to a room where you'll be attacked by two Qsitis. Make sure they don't get the
jump on you.
Past this you'll come to a large room. On the right side is a Grand Beetle guarding a chest, but
you can skip it if you like because the exit is to the left. Inside the treasure chest is Weapon
Recipe 21.
Go though the next hall and you'll come to a room with some Nymphalidaes and Qsitis. The
Nymphalides are much harder than anything you've encountered in this dungeon.
The next room has doors that go left and right. Take the door on the right, and you'll find a
couple of pests and a treasure chest. Inside the chest is a map of the area. Go back and take
the door to the left. It goes to a hall filled with slowing gas. On the left side of the hall are
some pests and a ladder that leads to a treasure chest with 3200 gold. Keep going down the
hall and you'll come to another long hall.
You'll come to some more slowing gas, and a couple of pests in it. Make sure they don't get
the jump on you. Just past the next door are some King Chimeras. Don't miss the treasure
chest in this area. The next room has two more King Chimeras.
Ahead you'll find a transporter, but don't use that yet. The next room has three groups of
Ositis. The next room has even more. Go through the door here. You'll see a scene and end up
in Elysion. When you regain control speak to Emma, who is directly ahead of you.

Numor Mine
In this area your group is limited to just Rush and Emma. Head down the hall, either fighting
the Quiens you encounter or avoiding them. You'll come to an open air gondola. Hold the
handle and use the analog stick to move to the other side of the gap. On the other side you'll
encounter some Dagons. They are about the same difficulty as the enemies you've already
encountered. To your right is a treasure chest and a harvest point.
Farther down the hall you'll have to fight Feralwood. These are also of average difficulty.
Continue on down the hall. You'll come to a door guarded by a group of Quien. Because of
it's size (five unions) this fight is much harder than previous fights. On the other side of the
door is a lift that will take you to the next section, the "Undeveloped Zone."
The first thing is this level is another open-air gondola. While you're on it you'll be attacked
by Dagon. Use timeshift so they don't get the drop on you, then enter combat. Halfway down
you'll see a platform where you can stop and get off. Here is a treasure chest with a new

formation: Avalanche. Continue on down (you may get attacked again, so stay alert). There is
a second platform, with two resource points.
At the bottom head to your left and you'll find a map of the area. In one of the dead ends
ahead you'll find the Stone of Marshall. At the end of the hall you'll come to a door. Save you
game before going through. You'll need the Stone of Marshall to open it.
On the other side of the door, you'll see your enemy, a twin statue named Namul Sin &
Naram Sin. They have high HP, and although their normal attacks do little damage, their
special attack hits very hard. When you defeat them, they'll drop a powerful Runesword.
Once the cutscene is over, use the transporter to go back to Athlum. You'll see another scene
and be ordered by David to travel to Nagapur. When you regain control, speak to David and
he will give you directions to Nagapur, which require you to go through the Heroic Ramparts.
Your maximum party size has increased, so head to the Town Square and recruit more
fighters. You'll want to rearrange your party as well. At this time you'll want to remove Emma
from your active party. She's going to leave your group soon, and it will be helpful to have a
new leader leveled up and ready to go.

Heroic Ramparts
This first area is a plain, filled with Giant Shellflys. Although there is a large group of them
here, try fighting the first one by itself to see how hard they are. There is a four-legged beast
here named Jarama, who is harder than the other enemies, so be carful when fighting it.
You'll see a giant wall. There are two gates in the wall. The one on the left leads to the area of
Ghor. Head in this direction if you want to unlock this new town. You can always come back
later if you're in a hurry however.
The one on the right leads to a large building. On the south side (outside of the building)
you'll find a chest. Inside the building are several groups of Jhanas and a treasure chest. Past
this building is another field, and past that is the exit to Nagapur.

Nagapur, part 1
When you reach this city, speak to the man on the dock. He will transport David to the castle,
and you'll be told to gather information. Go to the Sudenalm area and speak to the old man
named Oswald. Then head over to the Nordenalm area and speak to Emma. Head back and
speak to Oswald, and he will tell you how to enter Wyrmskeep through the aqueducts. When
you leave the area you'll see a scene. Your new orders are to return to Athlum. Go to Athlum
Castle, where you'll see a scene. You'll be ordered to the Nest of Eagles. Emma will leave
your party, so be sure to replace her if she was an active member. Be sure to save before you
enter the Nest of Eagles, you'll start directly with the battle.

Nest of Eagles

This level is a battle against the Conqueror's army. The army is lead by Castanea, the
Conqueror himself won't be fighting. Even so, it is by far the hardest battle you've faced so
far. It's recommended that you are at least battle rank (experience level) 30 to attempt this
battle. If you're not, you may want to do some sidequests to level up.
You'll have one allied union to assist you. The Conqueror's army will appear in two different
groups. Try to take out the smaller group, the one without Castanea, first. At the beginning of
the battle, Castanea will use a "Victory Cry" spell which will raise the morale of his forces.
After you've taken out the first small group, you'll see another large group. They may or may
not be attacking your allied union. Attack this force, Castanea should stay in "Standby" for a
while.
Eventually Castanea will enter battle. Take out all his minions first. Do your best to keep your
allied unit healed and alive because the Conqueror will go after them first.
For winning the fight, you'll get 14,000 gold. Castanea will flee from the battle. You'll see a
few cut scenes. You'll get a new party maximum (5 unions, 15 units).

Nagapur, part 2
In the Sudenalm section of the city you'll see Emmy. Head down the stairs and talk to David
to enter the aqueducts. Inside the aqueducts, you'll see a device which will summon a bridge
to get you to the other side of the water. Past this you'll see some Rockshells you can either
fight or go around. Just past them you'll encounter a group of Barbarossas. Be careful fighting
them, they have high HP and can temporarily lower your defense rating.
Head down this hall. You'll come to another bridge summoning device guarded by two
Barborossas.
Keep heading south and fight anyone you encounter. You'll come to a door which takes you
to the east waterway control channel. Here you'll have to climb down into the empty
waterways to proceed. You'll also find a monster called a Torpedo. He's guarding a treasure
chest containing a formation called "Sickbed." Just past him, and another Torpedo you'll find
a chest with the first Aqueduct map. To get to it, you'll have to detour though the canal and
move a bridge.
Keep moving down the aqueduct and you'll come to a new section: the Central Sluiceway.
Once you get here you'll soon find a door, and beyond that you'll see a cutscene and have to
fight two battles. The second of these battles is quite hard; you'll want a battle rank of at least
50 before entering. Save your game before you go though the door.

The boss named "The Gates of Hell."

You'll be battling three unions of Harpylia. Their special attacks can do heavy damage, so be
sure to keep your HP up. Although the one in the center looks like it might be a boss, it's
actually weaker than the others because it is alone. Take that one out first. After the fight
you'll see a cutscene, and have to fight another battle.
This battle is against the Gates of Hell. Rush's union will have only one option; his talisman
attack. It won't work the first time, but the second time it will unleash a powerful Cyclops.
This monster will act as an allied union and fight on your behalf.
The Gates of Hell is very powerful. He has an "Enthrall" attack that revives your downed
unions and uses them against you. If you haven't noticed damage in this game isn't balanced:
your units do massive damage but have low HP, while your enemies have high HP but do
little damage. If one of your unions becomes enthralled they will do massive damage and take
out the rest of your unions quickly. For this reason you should do everything you can to keep
all of your unions alive. Organize your group into three unions of four units each. This
provides the maximum HP for each union. If one of your does become enthralled you must
use the command "Cure them, even if it kills them" as soon as you can. The ability
"Vivification herb" is a must have for curing this condition, it will turn the union back to your
side. The good new is that this process will prevent you from having to revive them yourself.
Like most boss fights, attack the minions first. With luck the Gates of Hell won't attack you
until you've taken out the minions. Next, engage the boss but be sure to keep your health up.
With luck the boss will attack the Cyclops most of the time. The Cyclops does little damage,
but has very high health. You shouldn't need to heal the Cyclops during the fight. Keep the
rest of your union's HP up, and attack when you can. This is going to be a long fight, around
15 turns, so keep at it for the long haul.
Once you've won the fight you'll see a cut scene. After this scene save your game so you don't
have to fight the Gates of Hell again.
You'll then find yourself in Wyrmskeep. Explore the area and you'll encounter Jager and the
Lob Omen. There are two bosses, but otherwise this is a standard fight. Take out the minions
first, then Jager, and then Lob Omen. Jager and Lob Omen both have a huge amount of HP.
You'll need to consonantly heal in order to stay in this fight. Lob Omen has so much HP that
this fight could last as long as 20 rounds.
You'll then see another cutscene.

Disc 2
Move forward and speak to David. He will order you to Fornstrand. Pick up whatever you
need in town, then use the world map to get to Fornstrand.

Fornstrand

Head down the path. You'll have to either fight or avoid some Giant Armorshells. There are
also some Vanargands in the area. There are two paths that go out over the water, and at the
end of each is a treasure chest. The second one has a map of the area.
The second area has the same monsters as the first, with the addition of Bunes, large squid
like creatures. Move though this area and you'll see another cut scene. You'll then be ordered
back to Athlum, although you can detour to wherever you like.
Once you get to Athlum, you'll see another cutscene. You'll then be ordered to Elysion. Here
you'll see another cutscene and be ordered back to Athlum. Here you'll be told you have some
free time, so you might as well do some sidequests and explore a bit. Don't forget to stop by
Virtus Parish where you can increase the size of your group.
Head over to Elysion, and you'll see a cut scene. From there, you'll have to go to several
castles to trigger several cutscenes. Go to the Celapaleis, Ghor, then Athlum. Your new goal
is to get to Koenigsdorf, but first you'll have to get through six bases. You don't have to do
them in order, but you do have to get through all six before you unlock Koenigsdorf.

Base 1
Boss: Snievan

Base 2
Boss: Zuido

Base 3
Boss: Ludope

Base 4
Boss: Hannah and Hinnah
After this base you can unlock the Path dungeons by going to the Celapaleis guild.

Base 5
Boss: Young

Base 6
Boss: Milton
Boss: Cyclops

Koenigsdorf
This area is a large battle. Boss: Ala Melvilana.
After the battle you end up in Athlum. Speak to David to continue.

Darken Forest
If the Darken Forest isn't unlocked, try doing some sidequests until it does.
Boss: Anima
After this battle you'll end up in Athlum. Talk to David and he'll order you to go to
Underwalt. To get there you'll have to go through Mt. Vackel.

Mt. Vackel
Underwalt
Underwalt is a new city. Check out the stores and the guild. Then head over to Castellum.
You'll see a scene, then go through the portal.

Holy Plain
This level is just a battle.

1. Advice
Battle Rank is basically raised by fighting enemies that are even or higher
in
difficulty to your party. You'll know they are even or higher if the
default
attack command is 'Attack/Charge' or 'Don't be afraid to die.'
BR affects the following things:
1. Enemy strength/frequency of skill usage.
2. What arts your characters have access to. They will ask you at certain
BR
whether you want them to learn a new type of combat or mystic art.
3. At certain BR your characters will ask what they should focus their
skills
on. Each character has a 'path', Combat, Balance, or Mystic, corresponding
to
the 3 choices. This path affects which weapons or accessories they upgrade
to
or ask for, and affects their stat gain.
Chaining enemies increases item drops.
stat
gains.

Linking enemies provides greater

Use herbs/healing as much as possible to level it up as quickly as

possible.
It's important to learn Revitalize and Vivication Tincture for later
bosses.
Focus on combat arts for the most part. The only spell trees worth
developing
from scratch are Psionics. In other words, just turn off Evocations,
Invocations, and Hexes unless you hire someone who has them developed at a
high level already (Zolean or Yuniver for example). Combat arts are fast
to
level from scratch and often deal more damage early on.
I recommend sticking Rush with a 1H axe and shield whenever possible, since
he
can get a powerful weapon art later with the right axe.
When it comes to wield styles, just leave people at their defaults.
Equip Rush with +HP% gear whenever possible.
Try to grab morsels and chests whenever possible.

Check the wiki maps.

When fighting multi-deadlock enemies, if you are running low on health, you
can break people off to revive or heal, as long as one person remains
deadlocked.

Unless you're in a very difficult boss fight, avoid using unique arts like
Omnistrike too much - you'd be better off using normal skills that can be
improved.
When fighting large vulture/spiritlord type monsters, avoid deadlocking
more
than one person on the first turn, so only one union gets curse cast on it.
Most bosses and some enemies have overpowered AOE attacks that will wipe
your
party if you are unlucky and they keep using it constantly. If this
happens,
just try again.
You can't change anyones gear but Rush. They will sometimes ask for certain
pieces of gear or ask for materials to upgrade their weapons, though.
Keep your BR fairly low (under 35) until you get 18 party members and
Irina.
This doesn't mean avoid every random encounter, just limit it slightly and
avoid doing some quests until necessary.
In the PC version, you don't have to complete At Hatred's End quest to
unlock
later end game features. Hire Roberto instead.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Roberto
Unique leaders, with their own special portrait and backstory profile, are
the
best characters to hire and keep in your party permanently.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Unique_Leader
When a character asks you to go fighting, it means they just upgraded their
weapon.
You don't have to hunt down rare monsters to get through the game.
bother spending hours trying to get them.

Don't

When a leader gets to use a remnant art like Omnistrike, their union will
dodge almost all attacks thrown at them.
How skills work: Each mystic or combat path has its own experience point
value. The more you use skills in that path, the more points are put into
it. Once enough points are accumulated, the character will learn a new or
upgraded art. Sometimes it won't be in the exact same art category,
though.
For example you could be trying to level Psionics and learn a new Evocation
spell. For this reason, if you don't plan to use an art style with
someone,
tell them not to learn it so they'll upgrade their other paths faster.

Helpful world map: http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/File:Routestlrtc6.jpg
Some hireable unique leaders offer quests. You just have to find them and
keep exiting and re-entering the city they're in and talking to them until
you've got through 3 red text bubbles. You don't need them active in your
party for them to give the quests.

There are two ways to get the choices you want to show up in combat.
Either
limit the abilities of the union to the ones you want, or increase the
number
of enemies. Pay attention to the AP number next to the choice, which
usually
reveals the abilities to be used if you know how much a certain spell or
ability costs. Scroll around each choice and pick the one that looks best
(even if it breaks a deadlock).
2. Character Review
Best characters:
Emmy: She has a summon, unique arts, weapon arts, and high stats.
Torgal: He has weapon arts, unique arts, high stats, and Psionics.
Duke of Ghor: He has unique arts, Psionics, and amazingly high HP and
strength.
Jager: He has a summon, unique arts, weapon arts, high stats, and Psionics.
Rush: He has a summon, unique arts, weapon arts, good stats, and can learn
just about any skill in the game.
Wyngale: While a bit lacking in HP, he arrives with high levels of almost
every skill, plus he has weapon arts and almost every Arcana. He can take
on
almost any role, making him similar to Rush.
Baulson: He has great HP, herbs/remedies, and a weapon art.
Glenys: She has good HP, herbs/remedies, and a weapon art.
Caedmon: A bit lacking in HP, but he has herbs/remedies and a weapon art.
Paris: His very high HP, remedies, psionics, and ability to use wards make
him
one of the best casters.
Gaou: Great HP and stats, a remnant weapon, and his high level lotions
allows
him to heal and revive as well as a remedies caster.
Zolean: He's the earliest character you can recruit with high level Hexes.
Use his hexes constantly to unlock Cachexia, which is an extremely
important
ability for optional bosses. He can also get a weapon art and his stats
are
decent. If you prefer to skill grind someone else to learn Cachexia, he
isn't
quite as useful.
Irina: She is easily the best healer in the game with extremely high INT,
above average HP, can learn psionics, plus a unique art and weapon arts.
Good characters:
Allan: He has great stats and weapon arts. While his only purpose is to
hit
things hard, he does it well.
Roberto: He has great stats and weapon arts. While his only purpose is to
hit
things hard, he does it well.
Gabriel: He's a good tank, can learn weapon and 'soulshield' arts, and can
use
herbs.
David: He has good unique arts, has a shield which is good for tanking,
plus
remedies/herbs.

Blocter: He has high HP, good stats, and a remnant accessory that voids
status
effects after a turn.
Decent characters:
Khrynia: Arrives with high level spells, Explosives and Shards, and she can
learn some great weapon arts. Unfortunately her stats are a little lacking
unless you do a low BR rush to get her. Her HP is pretty poor for a
caster.
Yuniver: Starts with high level Hexes and Psionics, and also learns a
weapon
art (although his strength sucks). His HP is good for a hybrid
caster/attacker.
Pagus: While useful for most of the game, he never learns Psionics and his
weapon arts are not particularly powerful. His low HP is also a concern.
Sibal: He might be worth taking if you did a very low BR rush through the
game, otherwise he will fall behind by the time you can recruit him. He
has
about equal strength and HP to Blocter.
Characters to use then replace when possible:
Nora: She doesn't learn herbs or remedies, and her weapon art does sub par
damage.
Loki: He only learns herbs and has no weapon arts, and his stats are
nothing
special.
Rhagoh: He's a decent healer early on, but his poor HP and lack of
arcana/weapon arts mean you should replace him.
Darien: He may be useful as a temporary character if you need someone with
high level herbs asap.
Leshau: Joins too late to level his spells effectively, and his weapon art
is
nothing special.
3. Quick Walkthrough
This walkthrough is not based on any kind of skill or stat grinding.
it
attempts to keep BR fairly low, it is not a very low BR run.

While

BR 1-4:
Don't hand your gold to the Athlum witch yet, you need it to recruit unique
leaders. Be spendthrifty and don't waste too much or you'll fall short.
The
only thing you should really be spending gold on is herb supplies. Most of
the first half of the game involves scrouging for gold while hiring unique
leaders that are a better investment than normal leaders or generic
soldiers.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Athlum%27s_Witch
Buy the Kiteshield from Vergil's Armory in Athlum and equip it.
Recruit McGrady in Athlum. You should only use him temporarily while you
fill
out slots with more unique leaders.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/McGrady

Complete the Baulson quest and recruit/place Baulson in the union, for a
total
of 3 people.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Baulson
Disassemble the Broadsword for two items that can be handed in for a quest
at
the guild.
Fiery Idol:
Equip the Combat Francisca-1 before fighting the Fiery Idol. Attack the
enemy
nearest the guest unions so Rush's union doesn't get ganged up on. Pray
that
the Fiery Idol doesn't spam its AOE attacks and you will probably win.
Focus
on healing yourself and others, the guest unions will do most of the dirty
combat work. You should be about BR 6 after finishing.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Fiery_Idol
BR 4-9:
Recruit Loki in Athlum. Fill in the 9th union spot with McGrady.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/McGrady
You should be about BR 9 and have about 15k gold after finishing the
Catacombs
and finishing guild tasks.
Make a quick stop in Blackdale and head right - the right boulder will be
cleared and you can open a chest for 7.2k then run back out. This should
put
you over 20k.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Blackdale
Complete The Trade Route quest at the Athlum pub to access Balterossa then
hire Caedmon for 19.6k. You can also complete The Secret Letter quest
afterward without heading through the Southwestern Road.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Trade_Route
In the Numor Mines I recommend avoiding most of the enemies, since you'll
end
up fighting a bunch going down the lifts/getting through doors/opening
chests
anyway. Fighting the boss at BR 9-10 is fairly easy if you leveled Rush
and
Emma's healing skills.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Numor_Mine
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Namul_Niram
BR 10-16:
After finishing the mines and turning in more guild tasks (50 chains, kill
12
quien) you should have about 10k, enough to hire Nora in Athlum.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Nora
Complete The Dreaming Rose and When The Rose Blooms quests from Baron
Nielson
in the Celapaleis pub, which should allow you to hire Gabriel. Hire
another

non-unique leader to sub in with McGrady if needed. Semry in Celapaleis is

a
decent choice for his high HP and relatively cheap cost. Against the
wyvern
bosses, keep the Wyverns occupied while taking out the two side mobs, then
focus one of the wyverns down. Pray that they don't spam their breath
attacks
too much and instantly wipe your party.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Dreaming_Rose
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/When_The_Rose_Blooms
After turning in more guild orders and selling monsters, you should have
around 25k, enough to hire Gabriel and Violet.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Gabriel
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Violet
Complete the A Single Soul quest from Rhagoh in Celapaleis. The Feralwood
boss will standby so attack it last - gang up quickly and revive if
necessary
because it usually spams breath attacks. BR should be 13-14 after the side
quests.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/A_Single_Soul
You should now have 12 unique leaders in your party, or 13 if you can
afford
Rhagoh right now. Total hired: Baulson, Caedmon, Loki, Nora, Violet, and
Gabriel. Work on hiring Rhagoh next. If you need a little extra, go to
the
Southwestern Road and open the C-7 chest containing 3.2k.
Head towards Nagapar, killing enemies along the Heroic Ramparts.
the
captured monsters here should be worth quite a lot.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Heroic_Ramparts

Selling

Before heading into Athlum Castle, complete the Bravery and Loyalty quest,
since it will disappear soon otherwise.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Bravery_and_Loyalty
Nest of Eagles:
Focus on taking out the reinforcements first, then engage the two bosses
when
you're at full health and the guest union is revived. Take out Castanea
first. When Roeas uses Overdrive, refrain from attacking her and just
heal,
since it will wear off the next turn. If this fight is too difficult, do
some
optional quests to raise BR/skills and recruit Roberto and Glenys.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Nest_of_Eagles
BR 16-31:
After the Nest of Eagles you'll have room for 15 party members, at around
BR
16, and around 35-40k gold. Stock back up on herbs. You'll now have to
complete a large number of quests before progressing the story, since they
will disappear otherwise. The first thing to do is hire more unique
leaders
to fill out the roster.
Head to the Celapaleis pub and talk to the Sweet-Scented Maiden on the 2nd

floor for a free sword.

http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Olibanum
Complete the Wisdom's Echo quest from Glenys in the Nagapur pub then hire
her. At the boss, just focus the boss down and ignore the spiritlord. BR
20
after finishing.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Wisdom%27s_Echo
Complete The Broken Seal, The Disappearing Knights, and The Reviving Legend
quests and hire Roberto. Agree with Roberto each time to get a larger gold
bonus at the end of the quests. To reach Melphina, talk the Elysion
bartender
then run through Berechevaltelles south exit, then head through Crookfen.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Broken_Seal
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Disappearing_Knights
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Reviving_Legend
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Roberto
The Ruler of Weapons is the most annoying boss with its breath and AOE
spells. If you want to kill the Void Intruder just pray he doesn't use
MerryGo-Round too often and instantly wipe your party out.
Reviving Legend fight: Take out the eyes first, as they will be tough if a
lot
of them bunch up and the bosses appear. The Rule of Weapons standbys until
attacked, so save it for last. BR 23-24 after finishing.
Other unique leaders before the Aqueducts:
Darien - complete Darien(quest) in Elysion (must have access to Melphina)
Leshau - complete Frustrations quest in Baaluk
Maddox/Sibal - The Rainbow Bond quest in Melphina to hire Maddox (this also
allows you to hire Sibal after the Aqueducts)
Note you must complete a number of side quests before entering the
aqueducts
or they will disappear. List here:
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Time_to_Save_Irina
I recommend doing The Hero quest in Balterossa to get the Vanguard
formation it's very useful for defensive fights.
Do The Fiery Revolt quest last so you can get the nice equipment from
gathering the 9 Salia. You can get 7 of them doing the required before
Aqueduct quests, then the last two doing The Standoff and The Rainbow Bond
quests. You really only need 6 to get the sword and shield, though. I
recommend 3 unions for this boss to survive its Grenade Impact spell.
BR 31-32 (Aqueducts/Wyrmskeep):
After doing most of the required quests before entering the aqueducts, you
should have plenty of of gold to spare. Stock up on herbs again and head
into
the Aqueducts then run back out and buy two +20% HP Bracelets from Vergil's
Armory in Athlum for 30k.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Bracelet_of_Glazing
The Wyrmskeep boss fight can be a sticking point.
person

Each Union needs one

who can revive KOed units with herbs - Rush, Gabriel, David, Caedmon,
Baulson,
and Blocter should have Vivication Herb. You should also have levelled
most
peoples Remedies skill that can use it - one or two people with Revitalize
is
extremely useful. I recommend the Vanguard or Arrow of Athlum formation
for
the defense boost.
Gates of Hell:
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lqNiQbpi7g
Use 3 groups of 5,5,5. Focus on taking out the Hypnos out first. The
Gates
of Hell will standby until almost all of the hypnos are dead. Wait for
Cyclops to get a deadlock on the boss before attacking, so it takes most of
the AOE damage and two of your groups can flank it. The boss will use
Hellfire occasionally which is extremely powerful. Try to choose
healing/revive options every turn, since the boss will try to revive and
enthrall any of your dead unions.
Jager:
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZ-WhTUxAvk
Split the teams into 4 groups of 4,4,4,3. Place Roberto, Blocter, and
Torgal
in the 4th union to keep that unions HP up. This fight is pretty easy if
Lob
Omen doesn't use its Palsy Skein attack too often. Take out the soldiers
and
Jager first while fending off Lob Omen, then take it out last.
BR 32-40:
You must finish the 3 Silver Falcon quests before the 6 bases are available
to
get the best reward from the 3rd Falcon quest.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Silver_Falcons:_Part_One
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Silver_Falcons:_Part_Two
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Silver_Falcons:_Part_Three
Progress the story to unlock 18 total characters and Irina. You can now
hire
Gaou, Allan, Paris, Jager, and Zolean. I suggest replacing some of the
lesser
Unique Leaders like Nora, Loki, Violet, and Rhagoh. Once you have a full
party of 18 with most of the characters you'll be sticking with for the
rest
of the game, don't worry so much about BR and work on developing skills and
killing just about everything that comes across your path.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Welcome_to_the_Second_Disk
You'll want to set up a 3 person team with Irina (for her high AP boost),
Zolean, and a third person (I chose Paris) in order to get Zolean Cachexia
as
fast as possible. Turn off all Zoleans spells except Dispirit and make
sure
he casts it every round. You'll know it's Cachexia when the choice is
'attack
with mystic arts!' and the AP cost is 36 (which is Dispirit's initial cost,

although it lowers as he levels it up), or when the choice is 'lower their

morale!'. Make sure Zolean casts Dispirit every round of every fight you
encounter from now on and he will slowly work up to Dispirit V and unlock
Cachexia. Once your characters gain in AP, you can replace Irina with
someone
more suitable.
Getting Zolean's parameter bonus of +8 speed will make it easier for him to
get his spells off. Just keep talking to him in the Balterossa pub, then
exiting to the world map and repeating. You'll have to do this about 15
times
to get through his 3 red text messages. You'll need Zane's Ring in The
Second
Path to get the parameter bonus.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Second_Path
As you reach higher BR, you'll unlock Psionics for characters like Jager
and
Torgal. Try to level those up whenever possible as well. Morale altering
abilities are important because your union leaders can use their special
arts
more regularly at very high morale.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Mystic_Arts#Hexes
Also try to learn Revitalize as soon as possible. Herbs are ok for healing
early on, but they fall behind in comparison to that spell.
Characters to hire:
Gaou - hire in Baluuk after entering Aqueducts
Zolean - hire in Balterossa after Irina joins the party
Allan - complete The Successor in Royotia, after Wyrmskeep
Paris - complete Goodbye, Sweet Love and Love Will Rise Again in
Balterossa,
after Wyrmskeep
Jager - complete The Fated One in Athlum, after Fornstrand
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Gaou
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Zolean
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Allan
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Paris
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Jager
Love Will Rise Again: Take the Balterossa route, to avoid the Godwood boss.
During the second fight, take out Deathclaw first, then Terrapest.
Make sure to finish The Tablet of Marshall in Athlum so Emmy can summon
Namul
Niram.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Tablet_of_Marshall
Complete Emotions and make sure to hold onto the Ancient Scabbard (don't
trade
it once you got it). This is required for a remnant weapon drop from a
boss
soon.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Emotions
You can purchase a nice 1H Waraxe for Rush in Nagapur after completing The

Slave Traders quest and opening the Gifts of Remembrance shop. You could
also
try to upgrade the Splitter, although you may have to hunt down the
materials. You can probably afford it after going through a few Bases,
which
award a lot of gold.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Slave_Traders
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Waraxe
BR 40-44 (6 bases/Koensigdorf):
Go and talk to the Duke of Ghor before beginning any bases, then come back
and
talk to him after every base (when he has a red text bubble), this is
required
to hire him later.
Each Union needs one person who can revive KOed units with herbs,
preferrably
high level Vivication Herb/Tincture. It's also important to have people in
each group with high level Remedy or Herb arts like Revitalize and
Restorative
Tincture. If you don't have those abilities you should do sidequests or
battles and work on getting them. It's best to have Rush, David, Emmy,
Irina,
and Torgal (after Base 1) lead separate unions so they can use their
special
abilities if needed. If Jager learns Beowulf you can make him a union
leader
also.
During the outside 'invasion' portions of each base, it helps to have
Poison
Gas or other long range spells unlocked so you can take one or two unions
out
before engaging them up close.
Base 1:
Take out the casters first, then the solders, then work on Snievan. He
doesn't have any powerful AOE or instakill abilities like most of the other
bosses, which makes him the easiest.
Base 2:
Zuido has a small sized AOE called Giant Press that doesn't pose a threat
to
more than 2 unions. He's another fairly easy boss compared to the others.
Base 3:
Ludope has a battlefield wide AOE that causes a lot of damage. If you're
lucky he won't use it too often, but you should form up 4 groups of 5,5,4,4
just to make sure you can survive the damage. Focus on the 3 caster unions
then take out the soldiers, then Ludope.
Base 4:
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IwW1a_wkxY
Use a 4 Unions (5,5,4,4) setup to keep HP high. Hinnah and Hannah will use
Twin Snowpetals on the first turn and every 2 turns after. Hinnah and
Hannah
themselves are fairly weak in attacks, so they are a safe 'deadlock' to
send

two of your unions at in the first turn. Send your other two unions
against
the caster unions. Spend the 2nd turn trying to revive and recover, since
you
have another turn before they cast Snowpetals again. If a union is KOed,
revive them with someone close to them, preferrably not someone deadlocked.
Once the caster unions are down, keep reviving and kill off the soldier
unions. Choose battle options that emphasize healing, but not to the point
where nothing is getting killed. Try to get in as many morale altering
spells/abilities as possible.
Once the bosses are left, deadlock 1 union on Hinnah, and deadlock the
other 3
on Hannah. Use Morale abilities to counteract the full enemy morale. Once
Hannah flashes red you will have to finish her off before Hinnah can heal
her. If at any point people start dying, break deadlocks to revive them.
After Hannah is dead, Hinnah will be easy to finish off.
Make sure to deny the dropped sword for Irina, so Emmy will ask for it
afterward.
Base 5:
This boss will take extra turns using its beatdown attacks, but doesn't
have a
battlefield sized AOE. Once again aim for the mages first, then the
soldiers,
then the boss.
Base 6:
Miltons attacks have a very high chance of instantly killing his target, so
be
ready to do a lot of reviving. If he botches a bunch of union leaders at
once, you may have to restart. Once he uses Iron Will, back off for a turn
until it wears off.
Ala Melvilania:
Stay in the middle of the battlefield, don't advance towards the boss - let
him come to you while you kill off the reinforcements. Once he's alone
just
gang up on him - easy.
BR 44-65: Sidequests and The Fallen
Continue leveling Cachexia and psionic abilities. Choose union leaders
with
powerful physical remnant attacks or summons like Rush, Emmy, Jager, Duke
of
Ghor, David, Torgal, etc.
Run through the Darken Forest to get Irina back.
More characters to hire:
Yuniver 25.6k - complete Seeker of the Ancient Path in Melphina, after the
6
bases
Sibal 31k - complete The Rainbow Road quest, after Koenigsdorf
Duke of Ghor 41.6k - complete The Gates of Deceit and Sword of the Dead,
after
Darken Forest
Wyngale - 82k complete The Fallen quest, after Darken Forest

Complete The Gates of Deceit and Sword of the Dead and hire Duke of Ghor.
Make room for him because he hits like a ton of bricks and is definitely
worth
using. Make sure to kill a total of 15 Greater Demons during the quest,
which
finishes a guild task.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Gates_of_Deceit_and_Sword_of_the_Dead
Complete The Slave Traders then UFO!? so Jager can summon Lob Omen.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/UFO!%3F
Go to Athlum's town square and talk to the recruiter to hire Glenn (or any
Marauder), then turn in the guild task at the Golden Chalice. This should
allow you to use Mystic Shield formations, important for mystic resistance.
You can hire Sibal after completing The Rainbow Road quest. Sibal is a
great
fighter, but he doesn't get his remnant weapon until later. I found his
damage to be highly unimpressive despite his HP/stats/weapon, but you can
give
him a shot.
Use the Tablet on some remnants around the world to get a couple very nice
weapons and accessories.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Tablet
After going through most of the remaining side quests in the game, you will
have to take on The Fallen. Hopefully you unlocked Cachexia with Zolean.
The Fallen (BR 65), no skill or stat grinding:
Hand of God - Single person attack that also hits other people in the
union.
It's luck whether this attack instantly kills its target and the rest of
the
union, or just does moderate damage.
Apocalypse - Frotal AOE attack. It's luck whether this attack hits only a
few
people, or multiple unions.
Attack - His normal attack has a chance to instantly kill its target.
End of Every Turn - He will use a battlefield-wide AOE attack. You can use
Zolean's Cachexia to prevent him from casting most or all of these end of
turn
attacks. Even if you let one or two slip past, it's far better than having
to
survive all of them.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Fallen
You'll need someone with Revitalize and Rejuvenate in every union, and
someone
with Vivication Tincture in every union. Turn off all other healing/herbs
skills besides those. Turn off Psionic and Hex spells besides the morale
drain ones.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Mystic_Arts
Distribute Psionics evenly among the unions so there is a higher chance a
union will get the choice to alter the morale bar. Rush, Torgal, and Jager
should have access to Psionics by now which makes things easier.

You need to set up a special team centered around Zolean's Cachexia - this
team needs to have +67 AP every turn (or less if you leveled Cachexia up),
and
skills should be turned off until Cachexia is more or less the only choice
for
the union aside from healing/revive spells.
Equip as much +%HP gear as possible. Try to get a Prismic Bracelet/Young's
Armlet and Liafort on Rush.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Prismic_Bracelet
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Liafort
Sample union setup:
Rush, Allen, Gaou, Pagus
Emmy, Caedmon, Jager, Gabriel
David, Roberto, Irina, Zolean
Duke of Ghor, Paris, Blocter
Torgal, Baulson, Glenys
Unions should be in the Mystic Shield formation. You need to have the
Cachexia (Zolean) union as slow as possible so that they always act last,
this
will ensure that the boss can't get their end of turn attack, and this also
gives them a better chance of a flank attack and no risk of being injured.
During the fight, prioritize 'morale drain' choices or 'attack while
healing'. Always choose Cachexia with Zolean's union. Don't bother
reviving
people unless it's early in the fight. Later on you should just focus on
burning him as fast as possible. If you noticed, there is some luck
involved
in the fight, but if you get Cachexia off successfully he won't be doing
much
other than his default Attack. That still has a chance to instakill, but
it's
better than the alternative.
After killing The Fallen, you can recruit Wyngale.
BR 65-80
If your army was good enough to kill The Fallen, the next bits of main plot
will be extremely easy.
You can hire Khrynia after completing the Witch quest chain, after visiting
Undelwalt.
Finish up the last of the side quests. The only notable one is The Ladies
of
Bloody Alice - the easiest way to clear it is get an Arcana or special art
like Gae Bolg. If not, you'll need unions strong enough to kill the enemy
unions in one attack so you don't get overwhelmed.
Craft and/or purchase some nice accessories, especially +HP and +AP. After
some fights your leaders will start asking for them and you can hand them
over.

In order to get the optional DLC enemies to spawn in the PC version, you
need

DLC Bosses:
Cyclops Standard Model
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Cyclops_Standard_Model
Due to the fact that you need to spend hours hunting down rare monsters to
get
this boss to spawn, I skipped it.
Eldritch Dragon
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Eldritch_Dragon
A very big, very angry dragon that gets an extra turn at the end of each

round. However, if your team was able to take out The Fallen, this guy
will
lose if you stick to morale drains, paralysis, cachexia, and plenty of
healing. If you keep the morale meter high, you can waste his extra turns
using Desperate Wail instead of breathing. Once his health gets low he'll
start spamming whiteout/blackout - try to burn him down fast or use
paralyzing/blackout abilities.
Jhana Royals
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Jhana_Royals
This battle gets toughest during the last phase when the King and Queen
show
up. They both hit extremely hard and the King group has a chance to cast
Blackout. Make sure you are at full health when killing the Ava Fusion
boss,
then jump the king as quickly as possible. It really helps if you use a
battlefield wide AOE like an Arcana or remnant art like the Gae Bolg.
The Fiery Gates
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Fiery_Gates
The Remnant Guards can be fairly unpredictable in their damage. If they
start
spamming Permafrost, Caustic Blast, Spinning Lariat, or get a Blackout
arcana,
your party will be in a world of hurt. Just focus heavily on one at a
time.
Try to have a full morale meter and lots of AP by the time you finish off
the
2nd reinforcement wave of Remnant Guardians, so you'll have a good chance
of
getting off a battlefield AOE and wiping out the 4 Guardians that come with
the boss.
The boss stands by on its first turn or two so go nuts if you can. The
boss
is exactly like the original, except he takes even more extra turns to dump
fire on the party if it has the AP (use Cachexia!). Be careful to keep
everyones HP up because it's hard to recover from two or more unions being
enthralled. If someone gets enthralled, make everyone break off and 'cure
them even if it kills them'. The boss will almost always get attack
priority
over your unions, so if you know his attack will kill them, just tell them
to
break off from deadlock and heal themselves while someone else keeps him
occupied.
Idols
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Idols
One of the easier boss fights. The Charged and Divine Idols are basically
identical. Their charge up Fulgurate and Insignia attack can usually be
halted with Cachexia, so as long as you keep Zolean alive and casting it,
you
should avoid most of the heavy damage. There's no time limit to the fight
so
feel free to keep one person deadlocked while other people revive and live
through his attacks until you can get the Cachexia train going again.

The Ancient Ruins

A 'rare' monster that drops important weapon materials. It always spawns
when
you enter, though. These monsters are the most powerful of the oculus
archfiends. They throw around a lot of status ailments so be ready to cure
them or have someone with immunity. They can be blacked out/paralyzed
which
can make the fight pretty trivial. Kill them quickly before they start
using
Overdrive every turn.

monster.

Barely even a boss, more like a rare

http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Holy_Servant
This dragon is almost identical to the Eldritch Dragon. It will start
spamming blackout/whiteout at low health so have Cachexia ready.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Terror_Wing
A phantom boss. It spams Bewitch very often and there are a few ways to
get
around this. Try to blackout or paralyze it, use cachexia, and make good
use
of Blocter's Wonder Bangle remnant (clears status effects on next turn).
Only
deadlock one or two unions at once and use the others to break and revive
enthralled unions, heal, or just standby. The boss only has about 350k HP
so
it should go down fairly quickly as long as you don't get overwhelmed by
enthralled unions. Sometimes you might even get lucky and it uses another
skill instead of Bewitch.
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Demigod
This boss is basically The Fallen except with 12 million HP and no time
limit. He uses his battlefield AOE at the end of most, but not all turns.
He
will use Bewitch occasionally so be ready to kill your allies if needed.
For
extra insurance, you may consider putting Rush, Blocter, Zolean, and
someone

with high AP (Irina) together so that the Cachexia group will be hard to
Bewitch. You can also consider spending 888,888 gold on the Ragna-Rock
which
will make an entire union (Rush's) immune to Enthrall. Create an Idol
Amulet
as well which Paris will probably ask for, which will make whatever union
he's
in more resistant to Bewitch and Curse as well. You don't want to end up
losing because the Cachexia union got Bewitched or Cursed.
If the boss start spamming Bewitch and you get unlucky, you'll probably
lose.
You need to have the Cachexia union as slow as possible so that they always
act last, this will ensure that the boss can't get their end of turn
attack,
and this also gives them a better chance of a flank attack and no risk of
being injured.
BR 80-90
With The Ancient Ruins out of the way, only 4 bosses remain to be killed.
The
White Conqueror and The Lost both must be taken out very quickly before
they
wipe the team out, so you need some uber damage to be able to slaughter
them.
You should already have a lot of materials from running through The Ancient
Ruins, but you'll likely need to run through it 2-3 more times to kill
enough
Observers and Oblivion Wings. Unfortunately you can't upgrade some weapons
unless you spend hours trying to find and kill rare monsters and upgrade
your
guild rank, so just do the best you can.
The Lost Remnant
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lost_Remnant
This guy is a straightforward DPS fight - he is just like The Fallen except
you only have 5 turns instead of 10 to kill him. All you need are a few
upgraded weapons and the game to give you some lucky weapon art procs and
he'll go down. Maximizing init AP is also a good idea. Use the Battle
Crown
formation and pray that you get to use some remnant weapon arts to cause
some
serious damage. Don't bother too much with healing - you will usually only
win with 2 or 3 unions alive barely finishing him off on turn 5.
The White Conqueror
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_White_Conqueror
This guy is like the The Lost Remnant, except his non-battlefield AOE
abilities do a lot more damage. On turn 4 he goes into Savage mode and
starts
using abilities that instakill your unions, so you need to kill him very
quickly afterward.
There is a lot of luck involved in the fight - his normal attack can
instalkill, his Deep Impact AOE can instantly kill multiple unions if it
hits

more than one, and his Masterblow also has a chance to instantly kill any
of
the people in a union he attacks. Sometimes even before he goes into
Savage
mode he will get lucky and wipe 2-3 of your unions.
Once he uses Savage (around turn 4-5) he'll start using Photon Field which
increases his dodge rate by a huge amount, and he'll start doing
Obliterate,
which is an instant KO to the entire union. On top of that he uses Seal
which
can one shot a full HP union with little problem, even if the morale bar
isn't
fully red. He will almost certainly dodge Cachexia, throw out battlefield
AOEs, and start one shotting unions. It's basically down to luck whether
you'll survive at that point.
Stick with Trident formation that you can get from killing The Lost
Remnant,
and a slower formation for the Cachexia union so they always go last.
It really helps if you have mutliple healers/revivers in each union, so
that
when you run around rezzing people both unions can end up at full health.
This is essential when things inevitably go badly and he starts spamming
his
battlefield AOEs due to missed Cachexias or Obliterate one shotting unions.
Once that happens, stick to one or two unions attacking, while telling the
other three to revive or stand back and heal. The fight will take a little
while but you can overcome him eventually.
The Enlightened Seven
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/The_Enlightened_Seven
Snievan - His Lugh's Revenge will one shot a union regardless of morale.
If
you get unlucky and he spams it too much, you will lose.
Milton - He will constantly spam Iron Will which gives him 5 instakill
attacks
per deadlock and usually completely kills, if not botches, anyone who
attacks
him. The good thing is he will usually pick on a botched union while you
run
around rezzing the dead.
Ludope & Zuido - Have one union tank Zuido and the rest gang up on Ludope.
About the same as before, except he uses Grenade Impact which can nearly
kill
a full health union. Take him out first because Galaxy can be very
annoying.
Hitting him with Cachexia on the last turn will prevent his Galaxy from
casting. Zuido is just a chump and goes down easy.
Young - You get to take Young out alone which is enough to get him into the
red. He doesn't have any special abilities, but make sure you are at full
health when you kill him, otherwise you may not survive Hannah and Hinnah
showing up and using Dual Snowpetals.
Hinnah & Hannah - Same as before, kill Hannah first so Hinnah doesn't start

bewitching unions. If you Cachexia either one of them at the end of the
turn,
they won't use Dual Snowpetals.
The True Conqueror (Rank 8)
http://lastremnant.wikia.com/wiki/Conqueror
This guy is very similar to The White Conqueror, except he will have less
abilities due to doing some quests earlier (see link for details). This
makes
him easier despite having a lot more HP. Also unlike The White Conqueror,
he
goes into Savage mode on turn 10, not turn 4. The first thing he'll do is
cast Fatal Eclipse so be ready for it. He seems to use his battlefield AOE
and obliterate infrequently compared to The White Remnant, so he's pretty
easy
to smackdown.
