Step 1
Click Start->Control Panel-> Network and Internet->View network status and tasks or Network
and Sharing Centre, click on change adapter settings.
Step 2
Select the connection, right click it and select Properties.
Step 3
Select Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4), double click it or click Properties.
Step 4
There are two ways to configure the TCP/IP Properties, Assigned by DHCP server
automatically or manually.
1. Assigned by DHCP server
Select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically, if
necessary, then click OK to save the settings.
2. Assigned manually
Select Use the following IP address, type IP address, subnet mask and default gateway IP address into
it.
Select Use the following DNS server addresses, type your local area DNS server IP addresses into it,
if necessary, then click OK to save the settings.
Step 5
Click OK to save and apply your settings.
Note:
1.
If the modem/routers LAN IP address is 192.168.1.1, type IP address is 192.168.1.x x is from
2 to 253 , subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, and default gateway is 192.168.1.1.
2.
If the modem/routers LAN IP address is 192.168.0.1, type IP address is 192.168.0.x x is from
2 to 253 , subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, and default gateway is 192.168.0.1.
3.
In most cases, Preferred DNS server is same to default gateway. For Secondary DNS server, you
could leave it blank or type in 8.8.8.8.
In some cases, the DNS server addresses are provided by your ISP. Please contact with your ISP to
check them.
Click Start, right-click Computer, and then click Properties. The System dialog box opens.
In Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings, click Change settings. The System
Properties dialog box opens.
Note
On computers running Windows 7, before the System Properties dialog box opens, the User Account Control l
permission to continue. Click Continue to proceed.
Under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings, click Change settings. If you're
prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide
confirmation.
In the System Properties dialog box, click the Computer Name tab, and then click Change.
In the Computer Name/Domain Changes dialog box, under Member of, click Workgroup,
and then do one of the following:
To join an existing workgroup, type the name of the workgroup that you want to join, and
then click OK.
To create a new workgroup, type the name of the workgroup that you want to create, and
then click OK.
Open System by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, right-clicking
Computer, and then clicking Properties.
Under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings, click Change settings.
Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or
confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
In the System Properties dialog box, click the Computer Name tab, and then click Change.
In the Computer Name/Domain Changes dialog box, under Member of, click Workgroup,
and then do one of the following:
To join an existing workgroup, type the name of the workgroup that you want to join, and then
click OK.
. To create a new workgroup, type the name of the workgroup that you want to create, and then
click OK.
If your computer was a member of a domain before you joined the workgroup, it will be
removed from the domain and your computer account on that domain will be disabled.
Notes....
If your network includes computers running Windows XP, you might need to change the
workgroup name on those computers to match the workgroup name on the computers running
this version of Windows or Windows Vista so that you can see and connect to all computers on
your network.
Click on Properties

Then type in the name of the Group you would like to join
A folder is a location where you can store your files. You can create any number of folders and
even store folders inside other folders (subfolders). Heres how to create a new folder:
Go to the location (such as a folder or the desktop) where you want to create a new folder.
Right-click a blank area on the desktop or in the folder window, point to New, and then click
Folder.
Type a name for the new folder, and then press Enter.
Right-click the item you want to share, click Share with, and then click Specific people.
In the File Sharing wizard, do one of the following1. If your computer is on a domain, click the arrow next to the text box, and then click Find
people. In the Select Users or Groups dialog box, type a name in the box, click Check Names, and
Under the Permission Level column, select one of the following options:
When you're finished adding people, click Share. Administrator permission required If you're
prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide
confirmation.
After you receive confirmation that your item is shared, you can let people you've shared with
know how to access it. Do one of the following:
If you have an e-mail program installed, click e-mail to send someone a link to your shared
files.
Click copy to automatically copy the displayed link to the WindowsClipboard. Then you can
paste it into an e-mail, instant message, or other program.
Open Microsoft Management Console by clicking the Start button of the Start button,
typing mmc into the search box, and then pressing Enter. Administrator permission
required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the
password or provide confirmation.
Click Add, and then type the name of the user account.
Click Create.
To open User Accounts, click the Start button of the Start button, click Control Panel,
click User Accounts and Family Safety, and then click User Accounts.
Type the name you want to give the user account, click an account type, and then click
Create Account.
Open Microsoft Management Console by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start
button, typing mmc into the search box, and then pressing Enter. Administrator permission
required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password
or provide confirmation.
In the left pane of Microsoft Management Console, click Local Users and Groups.
Right-click the group you want to add the user account to, and then click Add to Group.
Click Add, and then type the name of the user account.
Click on Properties
Click on Sharing
Click on Permission
Apply>Ok>Apply>Ok
Go to the Computer
Click Add
Click on Ok
Type in CMD
