Guidelines For Presentation

General Information
1. Please proceed to the Registration Counter at level 4 of the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel to register and collect your name badge.

2. The Speakers’ Preview Room is at the Toucan Room, level 4 of the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. This is where you will be able to view your PowerPoint
presentation (PPT). Your PPT slides will be deleted after the SOA 45th ASM.

3. Your co-operation in submitting your presentation slides early will ensure that the technicians will have sufficient time to upload your presentations.

4. All slides must be in the PowerPoint (PPT) format only, preferably in the 16:9 layout (no PDF files are allowed). Please ensure your presentation is
Windows compatible. Personal laptops will not be allowed

Guidelines for E-poster


When you have completed viewing your presentation, please approach the staff on duty before uploading it to the computers designated for e-poster at the Foyer
of level 4.

E-posters will be uploaded to these dedicated presentation screen.

IMPORTANT
Please submit your PPT slides before 11:00 on 23 Nov 2023, and include your Poster No. eg. P001

Version - save the file as “PowerPoint Presentation PPTX”.


E-posters cannot have hyperlinks to any external files or data sources. All graphics must be saved as picture files within the PPT files.

Password Protection - Do not password protect your E-poster file.

Size - E-posters cannot be larger than 50MB in size with a maximum of 15 slides including the introductory and conclusion slides.

Images
• JPEG images are the preferred file format for inserted images and for on-screen presentations.
• Images should be inserted into the slide using the “insert/picture/from file” command.
• Please ensure that your images fit within the containing slide. You may have to resize and/or crop them.
• Compress your images using the “file/save as/tools/compress pictures” command.

Guidelines for Oral Presentation


When you have completed viewing your presentation, please approach the staff on duty to save your presentation for delivery to the respective room prior to the
commencement of your session.

IMPORTANT
Your presentation must be uploaded AT LEAST 2 HOURS before your scheduled presentation.

Content - Your presentation must be representative of the abstract submitted for selection.

Time Discipline
1. You will have a total of 5 minutes for your presentation.
2. The time elapsed will be made known. At 5 minutes, you will be told to wrap up your presentation.
3. Please ensure strict time discipline to ensure that all the presenters get to present their talks without causing any delay in the progress of the meeting.

Audio Visual Aids


• The room used for oral presentations will be equipped with a rostrum with a microphone.
• The laptop connected to the projector will be placed on the rostrum and slides will be controlled directly by the presenter at the rostrum.
• A laser pointer will also be provided.
