This is a very delicious meal which can be accompanied with a main course. Cauli
flower
can be replaced with carrots or cabbage.
Serves 2-3
Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
Cooking Time: 10-12 Minutes
Ingredients:
Cauliflower (cut into 1 inch florets) 1 small
Oil 4 tbsp
Fresh ginger (finely chopped) 1 inch piece
Green chilies (sliced into quarters) 3
Chicken stock pint
Scallions (chopped) 4 oz
Salt tsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Corn flour 1 tsp (mixed in 1 tbsp of water)
Method:
In a wok heat oil, fry ginger for about one minute.
Add cauliflower florets and chilies. Let it saut on a low flame for 2-3 minutes.
Add scallions, salt and sugar, mix well for one minute.
Now add chicken stock, let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
In the end, add corn flour paste and let the sauce thicken a little, remove from
heat.
Serve hot with boiled rice.
Lamb in Curry
This curry is a complete diet which is full of protein and cooked in a typical C
hinese way.
It can be served with or without rice; nevertheless, it can be fully enjoyed in
both the
ways.
Serves 2-3
Preparation Time: 20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 40 Minutes
Ingredients:
Lamb (undercut, cut into 2 inch cubes) 15 oz
Carrots (sliced) cup
Five spice mix 1 tsp
Salt tsp
Oil 3 tbsp
Onion (finely sliced) 1 cup
Ginger paste 1 tbsp
Garlic paste 1 tsp
Green chilies (chopped) 2
Tomato paste 1 tbsp
Capsicum (sliced) 1
Corn flour 2 tbsp (mixed in some water)
Water pint
Method:
In a pan heat oil and fry onions until they turn into golden brown.
Add ginger garlic paste and saut for one minute.
Now add lamb cubes and fry for 3-4 minutes, add five spice powder, salt, chilies
and
tomato paste. Mix well.
Add carrots and then add pint water.
Let it cook for 30-35 minutes, covered.
When lamb cubes are tender enough and cooked thoroughly, add corn flour paste to
the
curry. Let it thicken.

Add green pepper and let it simmer for 5-6 minutes.


Pour in a serving platter.
Serve hot with fried rice.
Stir Fried Noodles with Chicken
This is a very famous Chinese side dish which is quick to make. It is simple yet
delicious
recipe.
Serves 2
Preparation Time: 10 Minutes
Cooking Time: 6 Minutes
Ingredients:
Chicken (boiled and cubed) 4 oz
Thick Shanghai noodles (cooked) 15 oz
Chinese cabbage (finely shredded) 4 oz
Sesame oil tsp
Cooking oil 3 tbsp
Dark soy sauce 2 tbsp
Salt tsp
Ground black pepper tsp
Method:
Boil cabbage for one minute and sieve from water.
In a wok, heat both the oils.
Add meat and stir fry for about 2 minutes.
Add soya sauce, salt and black pepper.
Add cabbage and saut for a while (about 1 min).
Now add cooked noodles and toss well.
Serve immediately.
Vegetable Fried Rice

Ingredients:

Black pepper tsp
Carrots (finely chopped) 2 oz
Cooking oil 3 tbsp
Method:
In a wok, heat oil, add peas and saut for one minute.
Add carrots, green beans, scallions and cabbage. Fry for 2-3 minutes.
Now add salt, black pepper and soya sauce, mix well.
Spread boiled rice and toss well until well combined.
Heat for a few minutes and serve immediately.
Agar-Agar Pudding Squares
This is a famous Chinese dessert which is very commonly enjoyed all over China.
This is
a must try sweet dish.
Makes 8-10
Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
Cooking Time: 5 Minutes

Ingredients:
Agar-Agar (China grass) 2 oz
Almonds (ground) 1 oz
Almonds (blanched and halved) 1 oz
Milk 1 pint
Caster Sugar 4 oz
Method:
In a pan, pour milk, sugar and ground almonds. Cook for 3 minutes. Stir continuo
usly.
Add Agar-Agar, stir until it is dissolved. Simultaneously, add chopped almonds,
mix well.
Pour into a 1-2 inches deep dish. Refrigerate until set.
Serve chilled cut into squares.
*If Agar-Agar not available, Gelatin can be substituted.
Egg Fu Yung
This is a special Chinese omelet which can be stuffed with variety of vegetables
. This is
ideal recipe for a brunch.
Serves 2-3
Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
Cooking Time: 10 Minutes
Ingredients:
Egg (lightly beaten) 6
Soya Sauce 1-1/2 tbsp
Scallions (finely chopped) 4 oz
Salt tsp
Black pepper powder tsp
Cooking oil 3 tbsp
Bean sprouts 4 oz
Method:
Mix the beaten eggs with soya sauce, salt pepper and scallions. Set it aside.
Now heat oil in a wok and stir fry bean sprout for about a minute.
Pour in the beaten egg mixture; let it cooked on a medium flame. Then turn the s

upside down to make it cooked on both the sides.
Cut into wedges and serve immediately or while serving you can scramble it.

Chicken stock 15 oz
Tomato paste 1 tbsp
Dark soya sauce 1 tbsp
White vinegar 1 tbsp
Brown sugar 1 tbsp
Corn flour 2 tsp
Method:
Mix salt and corn flour and roll each chicken strip in it.
In a bowl, make batter by adding flour, corn flour, egg and enough water to make
batter of
thicken consistency. Mix well.
In a pan heat oil for frying chicken strips. Dip each chicken strip into the pre
pared batter
and deep fry until golden in colour.
