Analysis of On A Tree Fallen Across the Road

Robert Frost was born on March 26, 1874 in San Francisco, California. When
Frost was two years old, his mother fled to Lawrence, Massachusetts, to get away
from her husband, who was a drunkard. Robert went on to become a great poet. He
married Elinor White and had 2 kids. Robert never had any jobs, except being a
poet. He published many poems in his lifetime. Some of them are The Road not
Taken, The Raft of Flowers, The Pasture. Robert also won four Pultizer. He died on
January 29, 1963 of a heart attack when he was 88 years old.
One of this poems themes is challenges in life. The fallen tree symbolised
challenges that we may faces in our life. The road is our path. We must think of
solutions to overcome or solved the problems. We cannot depend to one solution
only because maybe we maybe get a bad result from it. So we must think as many
solutions as possible and choose the best. We can simplify that the trees is the
problem that block our path, and we must get across it to continue our journey.
The first stanza represented the main theme of this poem. That is the
challenges in life. The tree and the road symbolised the obstacles and path in life.
We must overcome the challenges so that we can continue on our journey. If we fail
to solve it, we are a failure. It also means that we have come to the end of our
journey. We must also think of ourselves when making a decision so that we can
choose for the best.
In stanza two, she is referring to obstacles in life. We must face the
obstacles. That is the meaning of this stanza. The obstacles will come, and we will
face it no matter what. The third line of this stanza, and make us get down in a foot
of snow refer to the problem we faced. We feel the problem, we think for it, and we
get through it from time to time. Ax is one of tools to solve the problem. If we did not
have it, we must think of another solution to overcome the problem.
While, in stanza three, the obstruction is in vain if we know how to cope with
it. The obstacles also take role as a wall that hide the true goal or what lies behind it.
We must have an effort to achieve it, if not, it will slip through our finger. We should
not let it happened to ensure a happy and great life we may have if we pass. So, we
must try at our very best to overcome it.

The fourth and the last stanza means a journey without an objective is worth
less. So, we must set a target for to make our life better. There are many things we
can try to get, all we need is a plan. Plan is a method to make sure the chances of
getting what we aim for increased.
From the poem we can find some literary devices use in the poem. For
example in stanza 3 (line 4), seize earth by the pole is a hyperbole. While the rhyme
scheme for this poem is (a,b,a,b,c,c).
