From Room 23
Room 23 has had a great start to the year and in our classroom we are working hard to create a
warm and colourful environment in which to work with beautiful displays of artwork and class work.
Our attractive collage flowers are yet to be hung.
We have worked hard on our personal profiles, which look terrific and have just begun an in-class
research project.
The behaviour has been great with our class, Room 23, understanding and following the TRIBES
Agreements both inside and outside the classroom.
Last week it was our assembly and with the help of Ms Bunney and the students from Room 26 we
sang the song Counting Stars .. Just like a choir! (We thought we were pretty good anyway!!)
We also discovered that we had some fine actors in our room and they performed three skits
magnificently.
Still more talent! The gymnasts of Room 23 put on an awesome display of handsprings,
cartwheels, bend backs, double flips and back flips. Wow!

Driver Beware
Parents are reminded to take the greatest of care
when driving in the school zones. It has been
great to see most drivers being aware and doing a
great job around the school. We would like to

Active Kids are Healthy Kids

Kids love to be active. Physical activity can be
fun and can easily be added into their daily
routine. Physical activity is important for growth
and development and is a great way for kids to
make friends and learn physical and social skills.

Suggestions include

Be a role model be active when youre with

your children
Include physical activity in family outings
Support active play, recreation and
participation in sport

Faction Points Earned at Sport

Students have an opportunity to earn a faction point each week by being prepared when they go to
sport by wearing appropriate clothing. To earn the point they will need to wear:
1. Bucket hat
2. A faction coloured T-Shirt and;
3. Sports shoes that have laces or Velcro (not slip on shoes).
Sport sessions are held during the last period of:
Tuesday for Year 1 and 2
Wednesday for Years 3 and 4 and;
Thursday for Years 5 and 6.

The Interschool Swimming Carnival will be held
on Tuesday, 31 March 2015 at ALAC.

Homework Habits by Professor Matt

Sanders
Homework is an accepted part of every childs
schooling. However, it doesnt have to become a
family battle. The key is for parents and children
to be prepared.
Your child should have a set, regular time for
homework that fits in around your schedule and
your childs other commitments such as sport or
music lessons.
Homework should come at a time after your child
has had a chance to relax after arriving home and
before they are allowed to play or watch
television.

Lunch orders will be delivered to the children's classrooms by one of our lovely canteen staff.
