(UNNAMED ACCESS ROAD (UNDER KINGSWAY ELEVATED
CARRIAGEWAY, NEWPORT) (PARKING PLACES FOR
DISABLED PERSONS) & (UPPER DOCK STREET, NEWPORT)
(BUSINESS PARKING PLACES) ORDERS 2015
TAKE NOTICE that Newport City Council in exercise of its powers under the Road
Trafic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers and after consultation with
the Chief Oficer of Police has on the 20th March 2015 made the above orders, the
effect of which is to:
1. Prescribe a left turn from Market Street to Upper Dock Street
2. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the length of road speciied in column
1 of schedule 1 to this notice in a direction other than that speciied in relation to
that length of road in column 2 of the said schedule
3. Authorise those areas of land speciied in schedule 2 to this notice to be used
as parking places for invalid carriages, vehicles issued to a disabled person by
the Ministry of Health in lieu of an invalid carriage and any vehicle which bears at
the front and in a conspicuous position badges issued by a local authority to the
driver in pursuance of the scheme under Section 29 of the National Assistance
Act 1948 and Section 21 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970
4. Revoke the Newport City Council (Upper Dock Street, Newport) (One Way Trafic)
Order 2009
5. Authorise those areas of land in schedule 3 to this notice to be used as parking
places for the parking during the permitted hours and in such positions as are
speciied in the order, of vehicles in the ownership or possession of business
occupiers who have obtained a permit from the Council for parking their vehicle
in accordance with the order and who display the said permit in the vehicle in a
conspicuous position.
The orders will come into operation on 30th March 2015.
The orders and plans showing the affected roads may be inspected at the Civic
Centre Newport during normal ofice hours Monday to Friday.
If you wish to question the validity of the orders, or of any provision contained in
them, on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road
Trafic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act
or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the
orders, you may, within six weeks from 20th March 2015 apply to the High Court for
this purpose.

Notice is hereby given that the Newport City Council

in exercise of its powers under the Road Trafic
Regulation Act (as amended) have made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle proceeding
along Longlands Lane, Redwick, Newport. There is no
alternative route and the reason for making the Order
is to enable a narrow road to be resurfaced.
The Order is operative from 20 March 2015 and will
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to carry
out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
NB. It is anticipated that the works will be completed
within one working day. Residents will be notiied of
the exact date in advance. Access will be available
for pedestrians and emergency vehicles.
