subong man pagbiya ukon pagsikway
sini nga mga sala nga ginahimo. Lakip
man ang paghinulsol kag pagpangayo
sang kapatawaran sa aton Mahal nga Dios
sang mga butang nga dapat naton nahimo
apang wala mahimo ukon nalipatan nga
himuon ukon ang ginatawag nga sin of
omission.
Ang pila lamang sa mga dalagku kag
mabug-at nga mga sala amo ang mga
masunod:
Indi pagsunod sang mga ginpangako
nga tumanon sang pagpakasal subong
abi sang pagpakigrelasyon sang
bana sa iban nga babayi, kag sang
pagpakigrelasyon sang asawa sa iban
nga lalaki;
Pagpatay ukon pag-utas sang kabuhi
sang isa ka tawo nga ginhungod ukon
ginplano;
Indi nagaka-igo kag indi pagsuporta
sa pamilya subong sang ila madamo
nga mga kinahanglanon, pagkaon,
panapton kag iban pa;
Ang pagpaidalum sa pwersa sang

ANG MGA SAKRAMENTO NGA NAGA-AYO

ag-o pa lang kita nagsugod sang balaan

nga Panahon sang Kwaresma. Ang
Kwaresma amo ang kap-atan ka adlaw
nga ginatalana sang aton Simbahan agud
nga ihanda naton ang aton kaugalingon
para sa mahimayaon nga Pagkabanhaw sang
Ginuo. Paagi sa husto nga pagginawi nga
ginaupdan sang pagpangamuyo, pagpuasa
kag pagpanglimos, matigayon naton ang
pagpanumbalik sa grasya sang pagka-abyan
sang Dios kag mabanhaw man kita sa isa
ka bag-o nga kabuhi upod sa aton Ginoong
Jesukristo.
Gani, sa tapos nga gintun-an naton ang
mga Sakramento sang Bunyag, Kompirma
kag Eukaristiya nga ginatawag Sacraments
of Initiation, ang madason naton nga tunan kag hangpon sing nagakaigo amo ang
mga Sakramento nga Naga-ayo, sang kalag
kag sang lawas man ang Sakramento sang
Pagpakighiuli kag ang Sakramento sang mga
Masakit, nga ginatawag man Sacraments of
Healing, ang mga Sakramento nga Naga-ayo.
Masiling naton nga ang kabug-osan
sang ministeryo ni Kristo dira natingob
sa Iya panawagan nga maghinulsol agud
matigayon ang pagpakighiuli, kag ang Iya
mga maloloy-on nga mga buhat sang pagayo sang mga masakit. Sa Iya pagsugod sang
Iya misyon, si Jesus nagsiling: Maghinulsol
kamo kag magtuo sa Ebanghelyo (Mt.
1:15). Sang nagligad nga Mierkoles sang

sini mabaton ninyo ang dulot sang Espiritu
Santo (Bin. 2:38). Tungod kay nahibaloan
ni Jesus ang tawohanon nga kaluya nga amo
ang mangin kabangdanan sang pagbiya sang
mga binunyagan sang ila paghigugma sa Dios,
gintugyan Niya ang gahom sang Espiritu
Santo sa Iya mga apostoles agud nga ila

Diri mahangpan naton nga ang tig-una
nga bagay para sa mga Kristiano indi amo
ang tawohanon nga pag-antus kag sala kundi
ang pag-ayo nga naggikan sa Dios kag ang
kapatawaran sang mga sala. Tungod sini,
makasiling si San Pablo: Karon, ginapabugal
naton ang Dios, dira sa aton Ginuong
Jesukristo nga paagi sa iya nabaton naton ang
pagpakighiuli (Rom. 5:10).
Sang una, ining duha ka Sakramento
gintawag nga Pagkompesar kag Pagbadlis.
Ang Ikaduha nga Konsilyo sang Batikano
naghatag sing bag-o nga paghangop sa sining
duha ka Sakramento. Una, ginkambiohan
ang ila ngalan agud nga magtuhaw pa gid
ang madalom kag bug-os nga kahulogan
sang mga reyalidad sang pagtuo nga nalakip
sa husto nga paghangop sa ila: grasya, sala,
paghinulsol, pagpatawad, balatian kag pagayo. Ang ikaduha, ginbalik liwat ang larawan
ni Kristo bilang Manugbulong nga Nagaayo. Kag ikatlo, ang Pagpakighiuli kag ang

Paghaplas sa Masakit bahin sang matagadlaw nga kabuhi sang Kristiano kag kon ano
ang luyag silingon sang pagsunod kay Kristo
Jesus bilang Iya disipulo.
Para sa mga Pilipino, importante ang isa
ka nabag-o nga panan-aw sa sining duha ka
mga Sakramento. Ara sa aton kultura ining
duha ka reyalidad. Madamo sing mga grupo
kag mga hublag sa karon nga mga inadlaw
ang ginatukod kag natukod na sa pagsabat
sa sining kinaiya nga huyog sang Pilipino.
Ang mga espirituhanon nga paglaygay, ang
mga paghatag sing bulig sa mga nalisdan, ang
mga pagpaumod sa lakas kag patuyang nga
pagkaon agod matigayon ang ginapangayo
gikan sa Dios, ang mga prosesyon sang
pagpenitensya, ang mga panata ukon panaad
mga pila lamang ini sa mga ginabuhat
naton nga nagapaabot sang kapatawaran
sang sala kag espirituhanon nga pag-ayo kag
pagpahauli.
Agud malikawan ang indi husto nga
paghangop kag ang sayop nga panan-awan
nga dala sang aton huyog sa disparatis
ukon superstisyon, kinahanglan ang isa ka
nagakaigo nga katekesis ukon pagpanudlo
sang pagtuluohan nahanungod sa sining
mga bagay, kag mapasanyog man ang isa
ka kinaiya nga kultura sang Pilipino nga
nagasanto sa ginatudlo sang Simbahan. Gani,
sa sining masunod nga mga isyu aton tutokan
ining duha ka Sakramento sang Pag-ayo una
anay ang Sakramento sang Pagpakighiuli,
kag ang masunod amo ang Sakramento sang
Paghaplas sa mga Masakit.

Sa sini nga panahon, ang mga commercial
establishments katulad sang mga malls amo
ang ginakabig sang kadam-an nga ila simbahan.
Kag ang Dios nga ila ginasimba amo ang mga
brands sang mga gamit. Ang ngalan sang dios
amo ang Apple, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Calvin
Klein, Zara, Crocs, Samsung, Oppo kag iban pa.
Ini nagapakita nga ayhan, kita nangin
idolatrous kag aton ginhimo nga dios-dios ang
mga kalibutanon nga mga butang labaw sa Dios
nga dapat naton higugmaon kag simbahon.
Bangud sini, importante nga nagahatag

nagasugilanon sa aton. Gani importante gid
nga magtuon kita maghipos kag mamati
sa Dios sa aton pangamuyo. Paagi sini,
mahabiluan naton ang iya kabubot-on kag
kabay pa nga may kusog kag kabakod kita
sa pagtuman sini. Sa sining panahon sang
Kwaresma, may pagahiwaton naman kita
nga Lenten pilgrimage sa mga kabarangayan.
Nagalaum ako nga madamo sang aton
tumuluo ang magtambong sang sini nga
hilikuton, tanda sang ila pagpakamahal sa
Dios kag pagpakamahal sang pangamuyo sa
ila kabuhi.

A Valentines Date
with the Lord

he presence of God comes real for us in

prayer. By His Holy Spirit, God comes to
dwell in us. Celebrating the romantic time
with Jesus, the Jaro Parish Youth Ministry had its
annual Taize prayer: a valentines date with the
Lord last Feb 14, 2015, held at the Jaro Cathedral,
with the theme: The Poor at the Heart of Our
Prayer.
Taize prayer is a quiet simple way of
prayer designed for people of all Christian
traditions. These meditative candlelit services
includes simple chants, sung repeatedly, silence
prayers of praise and intercession. It is a sign of
reconciliation. People from around the world
especially young people come to taize, looking
for meaning in their lives as they prepare for
responsibilities in their own communities.
After the reading of the Holy Gospel, our
speaker, Ms. Babelyn C. Cabalar, shared in her talk
that poverty is not a hindrance to success as long
as you are with God. This line of her was totally
striking and it convinced young people to strive
more and not to give up. Veneration of the Cross
followed where the participants had the chance
to talk sincerely and heart to heart with the Lord.
To conclude this taize prayer, a thanksgiving
prayer was said and there was giving of the sign
of peace and love to each and everyone.
Taize prayer inspires the participants
especially the young people with their loved ones.
Everyone went home having received spiritual
blessings and experiencing that moment to be
treasured as they celebrate valentines date with
our loving God.

2. Where is your brother? (Gen 4:9)

Parishes and Communities
All that we have been saying about the
universal Church must now be applied to
the life of our parishes and communities.
Do these ecclesial structures enable us to
experience being part of one body? A body
which receives and shares what God wishes
to give? A body which acknowledges and
cares for its weakest, poorest and most
insignificant members? Or do we take
refuge in a universal love that would
embrace the whole world, while failing to
see the Lazarus sitting before our closed
doors (Lk 16:19-31)?
In order to receive what God gives us
and to make it bear abundant fruit, we
need to press beyond the boundaries of the
visible Church in two ways.
In the first place, by uniting ourselves
in prayer with the Church in heaven. The
prayers of the Church on earth establish
a communion of mutual service and
goodness. Together with the saints who
have found their fulfilment in God, we
form part of that communion in which
indifference is conquered by love. The
Church in heaven is not triumphant because
she has turned her back on the sufferings
of the world and rejoices in splendid
isolation. Rather, the saints through Jesus
death and resurrection, have triumphed
once and for all over indifference, hardness
of heart and hatred. Until this victory of
love penetrates the whole world, the saints
continue to accompany us on our pilgrim
way. Saint Therese of Lisieux, a Doctor of
the Church, expressed her conviction that
the joy in heaven for the victory of crucified
love remains incomplete as long as there is
still a single man or woman on earth who
suffers and cries out in pain.
We share in the merits and joy of the
saints. Their joy in the victory of the Risen
Christ gives us strength as we strive to
overcome our indifference and hardness of
heart.
In the second place, every Christian
community is called to go out of itself and to

be engaged in the life of the greater society
of which it is a part, especially with the
poor and those who far away. The Church
is missionary by her very nature; she is not
self-enclosed but sent out to every nation
and people.
Her mission is to bear patient witness
to the One who desires to draw all creation
and every man and woman to the Father.
Her mission is to bring to all a love which
cannot remain silent. In each of our
neighbours, then, we must see a brother or
sister for whom Christ died and rose again.
What we ourselves have received, we have
received for them as well. Similarly, all that
our brothers and sisters possess is a gift for
the Church and for all humanity.
How greatly I desire that all those
places where the Church is present, our
parishes and our communities, become
islands of mercy in the midst of the sea of
indifference!

3. Make your hearts firm! (James 5:8)

Individual Christians
As individuals too, we are tempted by
indifference. Flooded with news reports
and troubling images of human suffering,
we feel our complete inability to help. What
can we do to avoid being caught up in this
spiral of distress and powerlessness?
First, we can pray in communion with
the Church on earth and in heaven. Let us
not underestimate the power of so many
voices united in prayer! The 24 Hours for
the Lord initiative, which I hope will be
observed on 13-14 March throughout the
Church, also at the diocesan level, is meant
to be a sign of this need for prayer.
Second, we can help by acts of
charity, reaching out through the Churchs
many charitable organizations. Lent is a
favourable time for showing this concern
for others by small yet concrete signs of
our belonging to the one human family.
Third, the suffering of others is a call
to conversion, since their need reminds
me of the uncertainty of my own life and
my dependence on God and my brothers

and sisters. If we humbly implore Gods

grace and accept our own limitations, we
will trust in the infinite possibilities which
Gods love holds out to us. We will also be
able to resist the diabolical temptation of
thinking that by our own efforts we can
save the world and ourselves.
As a way of overcoming indifference
and our pretensions to self-sufficiency, I
would invite everyone to live this Lent as an
opportunity for engaging in what Benedict
XVI called a formation of the heart (cf. Deus
Caritas Est, 31). A merciful heart does not
mean a weak heart. Anyone who wishes to
be merciful must have a strong and steadfast
heart, closed to the tempter but open to
God. A heart which lets itself be pierced by
the Spirit so as to bring love along the roads
that lead to our brothers and sisters. And,
ultimately, a poor heart, one which realizes
its own poverty and gives itself freely for
others.
During this Lent, then, brothers and
sisters, let us all ask the Lord: Fac cor
nostrum secundum cor tuum: Make our
hearts like yours (Litany of the Sacred
Heart of Jesus). In this way we will receive
a heart which is firm and merciful, attentive
and generous, a heart which is not closed,
indifferent or prey to the globalization of
indifference.
It is my prayerful hope that this Lent
will prove spiritually fruitful for each
believer and every ecclesial community. I
ask all of you to pray for me.
May the Lord bless you and Our Lady
keep you.

nakapakonsulta sa doktor. Madamo ang
nakapakonsulta nga wala inugbakal sang
bulong. Gani ang project health nagsugod sa
simple nga free medical and dental consultation
sa bulig sang mga maalwan nga mga doktor nga
naghatag sang libre nga serbisyo medical kag sa
simple nga Community Based Health Program
(CBHP) sa diin katuwang naton ang mga madre
sang SRM. Sa handum nga ang masakiton may
bulong sa iya pagmasakit nagpatindog kita sang
aton nga drugstore sa diin ginapabugal naton
nga kita ang nagabaligya sang pinakabarato
nga bulong sa Iloilo. Subong, may 2 na kita ka
regular drugstores kag madamo nga mga
botika sa parokya. Padayon man ang aton
pagpatigayon sang mga medical missions. Sa
sining TUIG SANG MGA KUBOS pagapatigayunon
naton ang lima ka mayor nga Medical/Dental/
Optical missions para man sa lima ka distrito
(North, Central, South, City and Guimaras) sang
Arkidiyosesis.
EDUCATION: Ginasiling sang estatistika
nga sa 100 nga nagasulod sa grade I, 60 lang

KONKLUSYON:
We think sometimes that poverty is
only being hungry, naked and homeless.
The poverty of being unwanted, unloved
and un-cared for is the greatest poverty. We
must start in our own homes to remedy this
kind of poverty, siling ni Mother Teresa

ne of the rollers in the Cursillos in

Christianity is Christianity in Action.
It is given on the third and last day
of the seminar, where the participants are
reminded that all the subjects they have
heard are not only meant for their personal
improvement in spirituality, but, are also
to be taught orally or through examples,
wherever they may be.
Apostolic Ministries are not only for
learning and memorizing. They are to
be spread especially in the place where
physical and financial superiority are
preferred to steadfast spirituality.
Nobody lives forever. We need to live and
eat decently but these must be maintained
by love and reverence for God with an
implementation of His Ten Commandments
and also of the Commandments of the
Church. In this season of Lent, we are
called to repent for our sins and transform
ourselves for Christ.
However, the world has become
so modern and so practical that is now
saturated with vices which infect both the
old and the young. Since I conduct valueformation seminars when requested from
the young to the adults, I have discovered
that most of us recite our prayers
mechanically.
One day, while I was trying to formulate
ideas on the process of prayer, somebody
gave me the Octave beads of God the Father.
There are eighteen decades with eight Hail

Hail Mary is prayed, the intention for each
Octave is mentioned, and the one who prays
it, asks God the Father for help.
Here are the intentions for each Octave:
1. Praise. Give your praises to the Father
in your own words. Praise Him for
Who He Is, What He Was, and Why He
needs to be praised.
2. Thanksgiving. Mention all the good
things you receive, the graces that are
physical, mental, financial, spiritual
and others.
3. Offering. Offer yourself; the members
of your family, especially those who are
sick or down deep in problems. Offer
the weather, our social condition the
Church, the government, the schools,
other enterprises in fact, our whole
environment.

4. Repentance. Be sorry for hurting

others, for missing Mass on Sundays,
for transgression of rules, for breaking
promises and for disregarding
regulations.
5. Inheritance. Tell God the Father how
you use your inheritance of Catholicism
you inheritance of positive values
like humility, helpfulness and charity.
6. Fiat. Your belief in God the Fathers
goodness, His blessings for those who
trust in His love and kindness, His help
in times of our weaknesses and lack of
faith.
7. Fidelity. Let us ask for strength in our
loyalty to Him and for His guiding Hand
in making us see His concern wherever
we are and whatever we do.
8. Feast of the Father. His Feast has its
own date but if you think it sounds
good, you may imitate my prayer. I
pray to the Father that His Feast will
be celebrated every moment of my life
while Im still in this world.
Try praying the Octave rosary when
a storm is brewing. It will subside. It has
worked several times already. Strong
winds and heavy rains usually stop. Pray
with faith. Pray with courage.
Let us be with the Father always and
He will not forsake us. He hears, listens,
gives, open His Hands and His Heart. He is

5 Ways to Overcome Temptation

1. Find the source

James 1:14 says, When tempted, no one
should say, God is tempting me. For God
cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he
tempt anyone; but each person is tempted
when they are dragged away by their own
evil desire and enticed. When our faith
falters, its easy to blame someone else.
When Adam sinned, he blamed Eve. And
when Eve sinned, she blamed the snake.
We can blame God or Satan when we are
tempted, but we must accept the fact that,
more often than not, our own evil desires
are to blame.

2. Consider the consequences

When we stop to examine the stakes involved
in conceding to temptationto look down
the road and see where our actions would
place uswe will be able to resist giving
into these enticements. James 1:15 says,
After desire has conceived, it gives birth
to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives
birth to death. Temptation leads to sin, and
sin leads to death in our relationships, our
reputation, and even our physical bodies.
We must consider these dire consequences,
before giving in to temptation.

3. Know your weaknesses

In order to rebuff temptations advances,
we need to know the areas in which we
are vulnerable. Ask your closest friends to
assess your weaknesses, because theyll
catch what you may fail to see. Daily
journaling and reflection are also especially
effective in identifying areas of weakness.
By slowing down and thinking about what
has happened in the day, or reading about it
months or years after it happened, you can
look back with hindsight and continue to
improve your defenses against temptation.

4. Clean out the cupboards

Its time to empty your life of the things
that tempt you. If you struggle with
pornography, you cannot keep your
computer in a secluded room without
some type of accountability software
installed. If you have difficulty controlling
your drinking, you cannot keep alcohol in
your house or frequent bars and clubs. If
you have anger-related issues, you cannot
watch violent movies or listen to music that
indulges or inflames your anger. If you are

utmost to eliminate any chance of either
the devil or your own evil desires grabbing
hold of any corner of your life and climbing
further into your heart to bend it to his will.

5. Fill your mind with Gods word

You have a direct line to the truth! If there
were ever a charge given to Christians, it
surely would be to know more Scripture.
Knowing Gods Word inside and out should
be a primary objective for every Christian,
because having a good handle on Scripture
is essential to tackle our temptations. When
Jesus withstood the devils tricks, He did so
each time by responding with a verse from
Scripture. And theres no other way to be able
to quote the Word at any given moment than
by reading the Bible every single day and
letting it permeate your being. Like listening
to your favorite song over and over again,
daily time in Gods Word will get it into your
heart and mind and come out of your mouth
in the most critical situations. We know this
is a system that works, because Christ was
tempted in every way, just as we areyet
he did not sin (Hebrews 4:15).
