Lesson planning is very important for a teacher.

It is the road map for teacher to


teach students as well as to ensure smooth lesson. Lesson is effective whenever you are
able to successfully plan your lesson. It is not a waste to take time to manage your time so
that everything will go as hoped. The most important thing in lesson planning is objectives,
activities and strategies to use to ensure the plan goes on successfully as planned.
Lesson planning is no longer something that is fictional anymore as we are already
exposed to the lesson plan during previous semester. I am able review all the examples of
lesson plan that we used to be given by lecturers. It is undeniable that under Mrs. Lim, I am
able to get a better view and concept of lesson planning due to particularity and detailed
notes and explanation in class. I think that is my biggest strength.
I think that my weakness is unable to connect the idea of the activity into how it will
be done. I could think thousands of creative, interesting and exciting activities but none will
work if I unable to execute the instruction properly. Theres quite adjustment and modification
done to ensure the activities fit into the objective, content and topic of the lesson. I also learn
that in lesson planning we need to have strong imagination to visualise every possible
outcomes and problems that might arise along the day, and thanks to Mrs. Lim for the
guidance and advice given.
I think that I am very lucky person. I am able to get guidance from many people.
Firstly, Mrs. Lim as lecturer, teacher, instructor and advisor in everything that we done. I also
able to get help from seniors, they contribute some ideas, guide me a bit along the way and
advise me what should and should not be done. Last but not the least, I am able to receive
help from my members and mates. They all very helpful and contributing to help me doing
the assignment.
The most difficult thing for me is that to connect the puzzle. First is objective.
Secondly, the activities done must be related to the objective. Last and importantly the
planning we must consider the methodology and approach, then and only by then the
procedures and steps of lesson planning came. The procedures and instructions must be
explicit to the students which is the instructional language. The language used must be as
simple as possible so that the students which mostly young learners able to understand what
the teacher say and try to do in the class.
In conclusion, there is many things need to be consider in making lesson plan. There
is also a lot of thing that I learnt along making the lesson plan. I am thankful and grateful to
be blessed to be able to finish this lesson plan.

Teaching aids are an integral component in any lesson. Teaching aids help teacher
to explain better knowledge and help students to understand. It is like a picture of the lesson.
Activities meant for lesson meanwhile the teaching aids sustain engagement students in the
activities.
My only upper hand in doing the teaching aids is that the topic is being highlighted
quite a lot in the class which gives us clear perspective in making teaching aids. We can use
whatever equipment that we have or make our own teaching aids. It needs creativity to make
the teaching aids and utilise it. I also browse quite a lot in the internet about teaching aids
that I can make use of.
I am very bad in making my own teaching aids. I am not a type of person which is
very independent in making my own teaching aids. I got a lot of help from my partner Esther,
actually we did from others. It is not easy to make our own teaching aids, not as easy as
a b c. There are a few types of teaching aids can be used for instances visual aids - realia,
models, pictures, charts, maps and flash cards besides that audio aids - radio, tape recorder
and at last audio-visual aids - television, film projector and film strips.
Teaching aids is importance because every individual has the tendency to forget.
Proper use of teaching aids helps to retain more concept permanently. Students can learn
better when they are motivated properly through different teaching aids. Teaching aids
provide direct experience to the students - connects the lesson and activity with students
senses (seeing, hearing, tasting and smelling) so that it will be more meaningful to the
students.
Lastly, the tumor of this projects is time constrictions. We have a week holiday break
for celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri and followed by Perkhemahan Unit Beruniform which
also being done in about a week. It is impossible for me to bring along the teaching aids in
the flights. It is also cannot be done during the camping. Hence, during those time, I can only
discuss along with my partner what to be prepared and unable to prepare it and that just
being done through whats up. Only, after that we are able to discuss face-to-face about
how things are going to be done.
In conclusion, although teaching aids are crucial to successful teaching, they are not
a replacement for quality teaching strategies. Instead of relying upon teaching aids to do the
instruction, these tools are used as supplemental resources for educators. Many students
cannot perform to their fullest potential without the use of teaching aids, but no student can
produce their best work without a skilled teacher behind them. It is important to remember
that teaching aids are meant to enrich student learning, not provide.

At the end of the coursework, Goals:


1. Able to identify and apply the suitable techniques and approaches in teaching
grammar to the Primary ESL classroom (Year 4) at the end of coursework
2. Able to produce lesson plan for teaching grammar to Primary ESL classroom
(Year 4)
3. Able to produce and exploit teaching aids for the activities in the lesson
innovatively and creatively
4. Able to conduct lesson plan smoothly
5. Able to reflect back strength and weaknesses during lesson planning
