Phase I: Online Registration, Document verification, invitation to give institutecourse option, and course allotment:

The following methodology will be adopted for admission and grant of scholarships to
students from Jammu & Kashmir who are admitted to institutions outside the state of Jammu
& Kashmir under Prime Ministers J&K Special Scholarship Scheme for 2013-14.
1. All the eligible students who are desirous of availing the J&K SSS for 2013-14 will
have to COMPULSORILY register online (through a unique user id and password
allotted to them) on the AICTE web portal. The students who have already taken
admissions on their own and those who are desirous of taking admission under the
SUPERNUMERARY quota as notified by AICTE and UGC shall register on the
AICTE portal. All the relevant documents of the students will be verified during this
process. IT MAY BE NOTED THAT ONLY THOSE STUDENTS WHO HAVE
REGISTERED ON AICTE WEB PORTAL AND WHOSE DOCUMENTS ARE
VERIFIED ,WILL BE QUALIFIED FOR THE RECEPIT OF J&K SSS BY
VIRTUE OF THEIR MERIT IN THE QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

A) For General and Engineering Streams:

Applicants shall select the name of the University from the drop down list for General
studies which includes subjects like BA, B Sc, B. Com, BBA, BBM etc. Subsequent
to this, the applicant will enter the name of the college and the name of the Graduate
program
Applicants shall select the college course combination from the drop down list for
Engineering, Pharmacy, HMCT, Architecture and Applied arts
B) For Medical Stream:
Students admitted to Medical education programs shall enter the name of the
University, Name of the college and name of the program admitted to for being
considered for 250 no. Scholarship earmarked for Medical studies.

2. Category wise three merit list , one each for General, Medical and Engineering will
be prepared based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination for all the
registered applicants. In the case of tie, the following rule shall apply.
(i)
Aggregate marks in std XII examination
(ii)
Aggregate marks in std X examination
(iii)
Date of Birth of the candidate (elder to be given preference)
3. Provisional merit lists will be displayed on the AICTE web portal and grievances, if
any, will be considered to arrive at the final merit list.
4. Student will be allowed to propose 20 options (in the order of priority) about the
choice of institute and course that they wish to study. Those already admitted will
also have the option to give their options. However, such students will have to
give an undertaking that they will accept the allotment as available to them
based on their merit, and will forego any claim on the seat held earlier.
5. The number of the recipients of the J&K SSS will be 250 each for Engineering and
Medicine streams respectively. In case of General education stream, this number is
4500. The number of scholarships for engineering and medical studies would be kept
flexible i.e. more than or less than 250 scholarships per annum, for each of these
streams, subject to the ceiling of 5000 fresh scholarships per annum and subject to the
savings accruing from any shortfall in the number of students opting for general
degree courses. Reservations for the backward category and physically handicapped
students will be as per the state govt. norms.
6. Final allotment of admission will be made on the basis of the options given by the
applicant and availability of supernumerary seat in the institutes. As per the decision
taken in the 5th meeting IMC meeting held on 20th June 2013, to avoid bunching of
students in any one particular institute and to have an even distribution of students
amongst various institutes across the country, it was decided that a maximum of 5
students in a particular college would get scholarships ( based on their overall merit in
the qualifying examination) under this scheme regardless of the number of students
from J&K admitted in a particular college, including the students admitted under the
supernumerary quota. This has been done keeping in view the spirit of the
recommendations of the Expert Group.

7. All the applicants, who receive the final allotment of admissions, shall confirm
the same by taking the admissions to the respective institutes as per instruction
issued by AICTE WITHOUT FAIL. Those who fail to confirm the admissions
before the last date will automatically lose any claim on the seat allotted to them, and
will also forfeit their chance of getting any benefit of the scholarship scheme.
8. Head of the Institution where the student has taken admission will send scanned copy
of dully certified joining report of student at sscellaicte@gmail.com.
9. Based on all joining report, the final list of students admission be prepared and the
vacant seats(if any) of all three stream the i.e. General, Engineering and Medical will
be filled in accordance to the category wise final merit list .
