SCOPE OF WORK A. The work package 3120 consist of supply three (3) units gondola system (Building Maintenance Unit, BMU) for routine cleaning and maintenance of the external Facades for the hotel tower. B. This installation method statement covers the works for installation of pre-cast hold down bolt, BMU track rail and the erection and assemble of gondola equipment. Page 4of 16 Ref: 2120/3120HOTIGEN 1 ‘The Jardine Engineering Corp, Lid Rev: 0 Method Statement for Hotel Gondola (EMU) Installation Date: 25 Aug 06 2. WORK METHODOLOGY 24 Daily Working Time The installation work will be carried out under normal working hours from 08:00 to 18:00 on Monday to Saturday except public holiday. Installation in night shift is not recommended except under special instruction issued by Main Trade Contractor (MTC) to suit availabilty of tower crane for hoisting of material. Faciiies such as general lighting shall be arranged for the concemed work areas if night work is required 22 Work Period Please refer to the Works Programme in Appendix A for detail. 23 Sequence 2.3.1 Pre-cast hold down bolt installation (Please refer to attachment 1) a ‘Schedule of installation is in general accordance with Gammon's latest construction programme of Dog House. Installation of hold down bolts should be carried out in a batch of not fess than 10 nos. of plinths at one time. The alignment of hold down bolts along BMU track could be better control along numbers of plinths. All hold down bolts are delivered and stored in storage area provided by MTC. According to the number of plinths available for installation, sufficient quantity of bolts and template will be delivered to the roof ‘manually and distributed to the assigned work locations. JEC worker will erect metal scaffolding for accessing the work location if, necessary. Scaffolding and signed inspection form shall be provided by MTC. MTC will provide reference center line along dog house on the plinth, and the centre reference line on the roof of machine rooms. JEC will align the hold down bolt setting out with reference to the center line. JEC worker will measure from the reference line provided and then install the hold down bolt in-situ by tying up with re-bars to positions in according to approved drawings ref. 2120/3120/HOT/2007 & 2120/3120/HOT/2008. A temporary wooden template will be used to secure the spacing of hold down bolts. The template is fixed in position by a pair of nuts. ‘A temporary wooden block will be placed under the wooden template and on the top of pre-cast concrete plinth. The length of hold down bolts above pre-cast concrete plinth is approximate 120mm, ‘The whole set of hold down bolt will be secured in position by tighten up the nuts and tie wire. Page Sof 16 Ref: 2120/3120HOTIGEN1 ‘The Jardine Engineering Corp, Lid Rev: 0 Method Statement for Hotel Gondola (MU) Installation Date: 25 Aug 08 After installation of hold down bolts for whole batch of plinths is completed, re-inspect of the installed bolts should be carried out by JEC. site supervisor with MTC's representative (if necessary). If the alignment of all hold down bolts is found satisfaction, the batch of plinth would be released for concrete pouring by MTC. 2.3.2 BMU track installation a ‘Site survey of hold down bolts will be carried out after completion of all hold down bolts installation for a BMU system. in case the construction of plinths is in small batch, there should be at least plinths for more than approximate 50m track length completed for effective site survey of hold down bolts for track fabrication. ‘The areas of plinths completed for site survey should be no obstacles (for example faclities of other parties) on the doghouse during the site survey. According to the site survey report, we will drill hole on the base plates welded to the BMU track. In case the plated shall be weld on site in order to suit latest site progress. PPE, fire extinguisher and sufficient shielding will be prepared by JEC. JEC will put the base plate with drilled holes on the plinth and fix them to the hold-down bolts. After adjusting alignment workers then will weld the plate to track at site. After completion of welding, touch up painting will be applied to protect the track. ‘The pre-fabricated BMU track will be delivered in segment to site by lorry. BMU track segments will be hoisted up to upper roof level by tower crane and distributed to respective work locations, Tracks segments will be temporarily stored at top of plinths. ‘Tower crane is required to assist the maneuver of BMU track segments to align with the hold down bolts. Workers will then fix the BMU track to the plinths. BMU tracks are installed segment by segment from one end of track to another end. After all BMU tracks are placed on plinths. BMU track level will be measured. The BMU track level is adjusted to the required level by the ‘screws on the bottom of base plates. The alignment of BMU track will be counter checked along the center line of dog house. The track switch will be installed as the last part of track installation. Firstly anchor bolt will be installed on the plinths with reference to approved drawing ref. 2120/3120/107/2006. Then install the base plate and followed by adjusting the alignment. Lastly, track will be put in correct Position and welded on the base plates. Page 6 of 16 Ref. 212083120/HOTIGE/14 The Jardine Engineering Corp, Lid Rev: 0 Method Statement for Hote! Gondola (BMU) Installation Date: 25 Aug 06 23.3 BMU Installation a. ‘The BMU equipment will be packed into sub-assemblies. Major components include wheels, undercarriage, winch assembly, electrical control cabinet, jib arms, counterweights and cradle. They will be packed in 20 feet and 40 feet containers and to be delivered to site by lorry. ‘The sub-assemblies will be unloaded to ground. Tower crane with 5 tons capacity is required to assist the lifting of all sub-assemblies to L6 podium which is provided by HCEM. Tower crane with 5 tons capacity is also required to lift up each sub-assemblies to dog house level for on site assemble work. ‘The sequence of assemble of each BMU equipment is generally as wheels, undercarriage, winch assembly, electrical control cabinet, jib arm, counterweights and finally cradle. The assembling of BMU equipment will be at its parking position. ‘Suitable tower crane that could reach the parking position is required for the lifting and assemble period. Duration of lifting and assembling of one ‘set of BMU equipment is estimate to be 1 - 2 working days. JEC will coordinate with MTC and make advance facility bookings to ensure ‘working smoothly. ‘The componenis will be hoisted up by tower crane, a gang of riggers will stay at L6 level responsible for engage the lifting wire slings, shackles and chain block to the components for lifting up. JEC will follow the safety instruction by MTC. The first component to be lifted up is the undercarriage. The operator of tower crane will convey the undercarriage slowly approaching the assembly position (parking position in the approved drawings). The assemblers will start fix the wheels of undercarriage to the tracks. After completed the assembly, the undercarriage will be detached from tower crane. ‘The procedures are repeated for the each component until the completed assembly of gondola machine. After the structure of BMU equipment is assembled, we will carry out the wire rope installation, electrical installation works by JEC technicians.
