it allows minority group
to have a say in the
governance.
ThePresidential Council
of Minority Rights
(PCMR) and the Group
Representation

Constituency (GRC)
are groups of minority
representation.PCMR
have members from the
minority group to
ensure that any law that
is passed down in the
Parliament is not an
disadvantage to any
raceor religion. The
GRC ensures that at
least one candidate
running for General

Election is from the


minority group. This
allows the needs
andconcern of the
minority group to be
made known to
the government. This
also allows the minority
group to know that the
government
isconcerned about their
welfare and interest.
They are not

unfairly treated just


because they are the
minority. Thus there will
not ill-feeling in
theminority, managing
ethnic diversity. the selfhelp groups such as
Chinese Development
Assistance Council,
Singapore Indian
DevelopmentAssociatio
n, Mendaki and
Eurasian Association.

They provide aids for


the less fortunate of
their community to get
aid in education and
trainingfor the jobs.
Allowing the minority
groups to have a better
economic and social
position. Thus the
minority groups know
that the governmentis
not just helping
the majority, but

minority too. Thus they


do not have hatred
against the majority
group, building a
national identity.Providi
ng common place,
common space is a
place and time that
Singaporeans come
together. The Grassroot
organisation such as
PeopleAssociation (PA)
organised home visit

and home stay to a


family of different ethnic
group. This allows
interaction amongst
people of differentethnic
group, allowing people
to understand and
respect the other ethnic
groups' culture and
tradition. With
understanding and
respect to eachother,
friendship can be built,

thus they won't hate


people from other
ethnic group managing
ethnic diversity. School
and tertiary institution
areopen to all students,
regardless of their
background, race and
religion. Daily
interaction that takes
place during the
lessons.. DuringCocurricular activities,

students from all races


complete tasks together
building teamwork.
They also play together.
This allows students
fromdifferent ethnic
groups to respect each
other as individual.
Thus ethnic diversity is
managed, as there is
respect built between
different races.
