6 minutes pitch
Problem

What problem is your company solving?

Who is the targeted customer segments?
How painful this problem to them?
Some techniques:
Story-telling (use a character)
Critical path (comparing how painful is the costumer path
step-by-step going trough the problem)
Use figures to show how big or painful the problem is (you
will get back to this point in the market section)

6 minutes pitch
Solution

How you will solve the problem?

How the solution works?
What are the key benefits it gives to your client?
Tips:
Use screenshots, pictures, prototypes, anything that
clarifies how the solution works.
Show the benefits! Make clear what are the advantages of
your solution = Not just how it works, but why your client
will get happy about it!
Dont be too technical. Nobody cares about how nice is
your Java architecture, as long as the client gets happy.

6 minutes pitch
Market
How big is the market? Not just in number of customers, but in
monetary value.
How is the market structured? Are your customers widespread
or concentrated? Many of fewer ones? Qualify them!
Tips:
Try to find, whenever possible, the addressable market (the one that
you could capture with your solution).
Ex: If I sell car insurances, the market is the total amount of money paid for
insurances, but the addressable market is the 10% sales commission I can
get out of them (thats 1/10 of the market).

Try to use both local and international figures.

In complex markets, it is always good to show the chain of players
and hoe they relate to each other.

6 minutes pitch
Business Model
How do you make money?
Freemium, subscription, commission, direct sale, etc
What are your distribution channels?
Sales people, distributors, automated self-service purchase system, etc.
How do you talk to your costumers?
Customer care phone number, e-mail, account managers, support staff,
no direct conversation, etc.

Do you have any key partnerships that are relevant to your model?
Media partner, distributor, etc.

Tips:
Focus on the top revenue streams if you have many (you have only 6
minutes). You can mention the other ones in the current status /
roadmap section.
Make you business model look as simple s you can. Imagine you are
explaining it to someone who is not from your business.

6 minutes pitch
Team
Who is leading this?
What do they have to present that is relevant to the success
of your business?
Tips:
Dont overload with information. Its not the CVs were looking

for.
Tell what is relevant about your team. Why is it the right one to
the job?
Show us how balanced your team is in terms of competences
(both technical, commercial and management skills)
Accomplishments? Experiences? Competencies?
Dont literally read every word of this slide. It gets boring.

6 minutes pitch
Be objective, energetic and sympathetic
Try to catch up audiences attention in the first 30
seconds

Your solution is not my problem Try to create a

connection to the audience by addressing the problem
first

Get prepared for questions: attached slides after the

formal end of the presentation may help

6 minutes pitch
Avoid use of Prezi, video, Live demo and other
unusual forms of presentation. They may look nice,
be innovative and impress your audience, but things
can easily go wrong. If you really want to use them, get
them exhaustively tested.

Test your presentation on the final machine and

projector that will be used first

2-3 Minutes Video

Its a 2 to 3 minutes video that present the company
This video will be publicized in IBMs blog and website. The public
will be able to watch it and vote on the best ones.

Focus on the problem-solution fit, with bits of how you make it a

profitable business.
You dont need to present the team, competition., roadmap, or
details of the business model.

Tell people how great your business is!

Imagine you are talking to your mum or someone who is an
outsider of your business. Make it clear and simple so anyone can
understand.

2-3 Minutes Video

Showcase your product. Use screenshots and videos
of the solution.

Prefer investing in animations and a good voice

locution. Avoid recording yourself on a webcam
explaining the product.

Be nice, use some pits of humor (but dont exaggerate).

Do something that will make people remind about your
video.
