Children and Preparing for Lent

Ash Wednesday begins a wonderful season of reflection and preparation. Receiving
the ashes as a member of the church community helps children recognize that they are
an important part of the Catholic community and are united with the Church in its
Lenten preparation.

PLEASE PARENTS! KEEP OUR CHILDREN SAFE....
TEXTING OR TALKING ON YOUR PHONE WHILE DRIVING IS AGAINST THE LAW.
Please respect our safety rules and the parents that are on duty. You are setting
the example for your children.

The second grade spent Catholic Schools' Week demonstrating that we live what we teach.
They collected & delivered 3 boxes full of art supplies for the preschool at Mothers' Club, a
women's shelter in Pasadena. Mothers' Club and their little ones are extremely grateful for the
many donations!

The rocket launching of 2010 was an amazing feat for the 5th Graders and also a
complete success. There were many different kinds of rockets with fantastic outcomes.
As a fifth grader I must say there were some that were indeed very startling. One went 4
feet in the air and fell, another flew over 2 houses, and the most interesting part for me is
when one of the rockets parachutes actually worked. Out of all I think this year’s launch-
ing was most enjoyable for Mr. Randy Davies who said he was glad this year that he
didn’t have to get wet from launching the rockets thanks to Mr. Johnson.
