PROFIT & LOSS ACCOUNT
1. Gross Revenue is ` 2587 crores against ` 3493 crores during
the corresponding quarter of the previous year, a decrease of
25.9%. The Gross Revenue for the current quarter comprises of `
1515 crores (58.6%) from Cement Division, ` 936 crores
(36.1%) from Engineering Division & others and ` 136 crores
(5.3%) from Real Estate Division against `1637 crores, `1580
crores & `276 crores respectively during the corresponding
quarter.
2. Total Expenses excluding Depreciation aggregated to ` 2367
crores against ` 2530 crores representing a decrease of 6.5%.
3. The EBIDTA is ` 220 crores against ` 962 crores, a decrease
of 77.1%. The EBIDTA comprises of ` 88 crores from Cement
Division, ` 119 crores from Engineering Division & others and
` 13 crores from Real Estate Division, a ratio of 40%, 54.1% and
5.9% respectively.
4. Due to higher interest cost there is a Loss (before tax &
exceptional item) of ` 861 crores during the quarter as against
Profit (before tax & exceptional item) of ` 20 crores in the
corresponding quarter of previous year.
5. Loss (before tax & after exceptional item) is ` 1100 crores for
the quarter as against Profit (before tax) of ` 27 crores in
corresponding quarter. During the quarter, diminution in value of
Non-current Investment/Advances (exceptional item) amounting `
265 crores has been provided on account of erosion of net worth
on cancellation of Coal Block of Joint Ventures Companies &
rescission of Agra Inner Road Project of Jaypee Agra Vikas
Limited.
6. Loss (after tax) is ` 807 crores for the current quarter as against
Profit (after tax) of ` 100 crores in the corresponding quarter of
last year.
7. EPS works out to ` (3.38) per share against ` 0.46 per share of
the corresponding quarter of last year.
8. Net Worth has Increased from ` 13488 crores to 13606 crores
representing an increase of 0.87 %.
9. Total capital employed has increased from ` 42918 crores to `
43513 crores, an increase of 1.4%.

1. Gross Revenue is ` 10989 crores against ` 13327 crores
during the previous year, a decrease of 17.5%. The Gross
Revenue for the current year ended comprises of ` 5985 crores
(54.5%) from Cement Division, ` 375 crores (3.4%) from Real
Estate Division and ` 4629 crores (42.1%) from Engineering
Division & others against ` 5837 crores, ` 1281 crores & ` 6209
crores respectively during the previous year.
2. Total Expenses excluding Depreciation aggregated to ` 8721
crores against ` 9865 crores representing an decrease of
11.6%.
3. The EBIDTA is ` 2269 crores against ` 3462 crores. The
EBIDTA comprises of ` 780 crores from Cement Division, ` 62
crores from Real Estate Division and ` 1427 crores from
Engineering Division & others, a ratio of 34.4%, 2.7% and
62.9% respectively.
4. Due to lower EBIDTA and higher interest cost there is a Loss
(before tax & exceptional item) of ` 1862 crores during the year
as against Loss (before tax & exceptional item) of ` 64 crores in
previous year.
5. Loss (before tax & after exceptional item) is ` 1618 crores for
the year as against Profit (before tax & after exceptional item) of
` 340 crores during the previous year. During the current

financial year there has been a exceptional profit of ` 481

crores on sale of companys 74% stake in Bokaro Jaypee
Cement Limited and diminution in value of Non-current
Investment/Advances (exceptional item) amounting ` 265 crores
has been provided on account of erosion of net worth on
cancellation of Coal Block of Joint Ventures Companies &
rescission of Agra Inner Road Project of Jaypee Agra Vikas
Limited as against exceptional profit of Rs. 395 Crs. on sale of
Shares of JIL during the previous year.
6. Loss (after tax) is ` 1110 crores for the current year as against
Profit (after tax) of ` 413 crores during the previous year.
7. EPS is (` 4.67) per share against ` 1.87 per share of previous
year.
8. Net Worth has increased from ` 13488 crores to ` 13606

crores representing an increase of 0.87%

9. Total capital employed has increased from ` 42918 crores to `
43513 crores, an increase of 1.4%.
