Story Time

It was a lovely Saturday evening. Moon

was big and bright. Children gathered
around a world class storyteller. The
storyteller was well known for his
interesting stories. The storyteller said
loud and clear, Children, please listen
carefully this is the last story of the day.
The name of the story is Bobo the Robo.
It made no sense to the children because
no one had ever heard about a story called
Bobo the Robo.

Wow that sounds great! Please tell us

more about Bobo, screamed the excited
children.
Well, I wont tell unless you are really
curious. He paused and
said,
Do you really want to
know? Are you sure?
Yes we are, said the
children.
Are you a hundred
percent sure? he asked
again.
4

Yes we are, said the children, even

louder.
We want to know more, said Ming.
Who is this Bobo the Robo? asked Adu.
Where does he come from? asked Emily.
What can he do? asked John.

As you may have noticed, it was late in the

night. Yes, the moon was bright. Time was
exactly half past nine. The storyteller
checked his watch, shook his head and
said, I am sorry to disappoint, but I must
go now.
He paused. I have been telling stories all
day long. It is really late. I must eat and
take some rest.
So, till we meet again you will have to
wait.

Uh Oh.

Oh No!
The children were disappointed.
I promise I will tell the story next time.
If you like there are some cookies in the
plate, said the storyteller before he
disappeared.

Next day it was rainy even chilly and

gloomy.

John,
Adu, Ming and Emily all got up early.
8

Everyone thought about the Robo whose

name the storyteller said was Bobo!
Time was almost two minutes to nine and
the phone rang in everybodys house.
Guess what? It was the storytellers voice.
The storyteller said:

Good morning
everybody. Hope
you all are doing
fine. I have to
apologize again; I
was planning to
invite you today
but near my
house there is heavy rain. So, my dear
friends, I will see you on Monday. Have a
Fun-O-Blastic Sun-Day!
And he hung up the phone.

Sparkling idea

Oh no!
Not once again, said the children.
What are we going to do?
We were so looking forward to hearing the
story.
Then suddenly Emily had an idea.
A bright, shiny sparkling idea!

11

12

Emily called Adu, Ming and John.

Emily, John and Ming went to Adus home.
Together they created a wonderful plan.
They played. Each told the others a joke.
The rain stopped in the afternoon.
Adus dad took them to the zoo,
Where there lived lion, giraffe and cow.
They also played bat n ball.
The weekend was not boring at all.

Bobo the Robo

Then came a new Monday.

The children were waiting eagerly for the
storyteller to arrive at his home.
Finally, he came in and hung his coat on
the wall. He cleared his throat and stood
up to tell the story.
Everyone was silent as the storyteller said
his first word of the day.

15

My dear friends, the storyteller said.

Thanks for your patience. I know you all
are very eager to hear the story of my
friend Bobo the Robo. So, let me get
straight to the story. Once again you had
to wait, I am sorry. So, here we go.
It was a dark night by the river Yamuna.
Some of you may know that the Yamuna
River is in India.

16

I know India is a big country, just like the

USA, China and Australia, said Adu.

I have seen pictures of the world famous

Taj Mahal, said John.

17

Thats correct,
said the storyteller
and he continued.
That night,
exactly behind the
Taj Mahal landed a
flying saucer. The
saucer was like a
giant blue balloon.
It was bigger than the biggest balloon you
could ever imagine.
18

19

Some say Bobo travelled to Earth in that

flying saucer, although no one in the whole
world is very sure.
Then the storyteller lowered his voice and
said in a low whisper.
If you promise to keep a secret. Bobo came
from planet Octosauraus!

20

21

To everyones surprise, the storyteller

picked up a guitar and started singing:
He can fly,
He can dance,
He can count,
Any amount,
Obla Di Da
Dum Dum Dum.

22

He is witty,
He is funny,
He is happy,
Like a puppy,
Obla Di Da
Dum Dum Dum.
Children sang along and clapped. They
thought the song was really funny.

23

Still strumming the guitar, the storyteller

said:
Some say he came
from the moon.
I Say No, No, No.
Some say Jupiter.
I Say No, No, No.

24

Some made up a
name,
Eartho-Moono-Pitter.
I Say No, No, Never!
But B-U-T But
In the whole world
Only you and I know,
Neither Moon nor
Rome,
Octosauraus is his
home!
