EXT. SNOWY FIELD - DAY

SARAH CONNOR (19), dressed in goggles and make-shift winter

clothes, trecks across the blizzardy landscape.
SARAH (V.O.)
Nuclear winter. The end of the world.
Judgement Day for the human race.

EXT. SNOWY FIELD, EMBANKMENT - DAY

She drops to her knees and carefully unwraps a folded cloth,

revealing a perfectly intact SILVER TERMINATOR NEURAL NET
PROCESSOR (resembles a Hershey bar).
SARAH (V.O.)
That's what happens when a
supercomputer called Skynet achieves
sentience and decides to wipe
everyone out.
(beat)
Or at least it tries.
Using a rock she SMASHES the chip to pieces.
3

INT. JEEP - DAY

Sarah throws her pack onto the passenger seat.
SARAH (V.O.)
The people it couldn't kill with
bombs, it hunts down with advanced
robots called, "Terminators."
She climbs in. Shuts the door. Grabs keys from the sunvisor.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
Nearly indestructable killing
machines, they tore through the
resistance with ease.
She starts the engine.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
But humanity would not be so easily
defeated.
(beat)
Finding the war no longer in their
favor, the machine army turned to an
alternative strategy.

2.
Sarah checks her watch.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
If they couldn't defeat their enemy
in the present, they would fight
their defenseless ancestors in the
past.
Sarah removes her goggles revealing a beautiful young woman.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
They went after the weak.

EXT. SNOWY ROAD - DAY

Sarah dumps the tiny pieces of SILVER TERMINATOR BRAIN on

the road and peels out.
SARAH (V.O.)
Like so many pieces of junk littered
on the highway, Skynet flung endless
Terminators back in time to prevent
my unborn son, John, future leader of
all people, from being born.

INT. JEEP - DAY

Driving. Determined.
SARAH (V.O.)
Always trying to shoot, maim, and
kill their targets, the machines
proved short on ideas. Guns. Always
guns. But then a clever notion
occured. What if, instead of guns,
the machines came back bearing roses?
(beat)
That's how I found myself dating two
killer robots from the future.
Sarah smiles.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
My name is Sarah Connor and I'm the
most interesting person you'll meet
all day.

EXT. SNOWY ROAD - DAY

Sarah ZOOMS off down the road. Snow whips across the road
filling the screen. The TERMINATOR THEME MUSIC SWELLS
until...

INT. JEEP - DAY

24

Sarah, from earlier, winter warrior mode, drives.

SARAH (V.O.)
That was the machines plan. To bring
us Judgement Day and wipe humanity
off the face of the Earth.
(beat)
That's not exactly how it worked out.
25

EXT. FARMHOUSE, BARN - DAY

25

The jeep pulls up and Sarah gets out.

SARAH (V.O.)
We got our Judgement Day but it
wasn't brought on by nuclear war or
terminators. It was brought on by
legions of teenage girls. I used the
time machine and went back in time to
the fifties where I lived out my life
long dream of becoming a singer.
Maybe you heard my number one hit,
'Bad Judgement Day'? It became the
stop drop and roll of a generation. I
made millions of dollars in the
process and even met the President.
The past was not ready for a woman
like me.
She pulls open the barn doors. Steps in.
26

INT. BARN

26

Cavernous and dark. She takes off her winter gear and pack.
SARAH (V.O.)
If the machines were going to come
back in time you can be damn sure
we'd be ready.
(beat)
My miscalculation became clear when I
returned to my time, my present.
(beat)
It turns out Judgement Day came, but
it came in the form of a planet of
cave people. No Terminators means no
computers. No computers means no
space race. No modern machinery.

25.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
No tape players. No movies. No video
arcades. No malls. It was hell.
(beat)
I had the idea to go back in time and
stop myself but it was too late, the
machine was broken and there wasn't a
mind on Earth who could fix it. Well,
maybe one. Maybe half a mind.
Sarah sets another folded cloth and opens it revealing the
broken T-800 CPU.
She ventures deeper into the barn to reveal the T-1000,
inert, chained to a post.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
I didn't travel through time alone. I
had two broken, brainless,
Terminators in tow. Story of my life
it seems.
INSERT SHOT: The T-1000 grabbing her leg as she jumped back
in time.
She steps towards the inert T-1000.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
So what's a girl to do but use the
broken brain of a kind Terminator in
the body of a liquid metal psycho and
try and jump start the human race
again. It is after all a prototype.
Maybe he can fix the broken bits.
She inserts the CPU into the T-1000. He stirs to life.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
We need machines. Just not the killer
kind. It never made sense to me why a
computer would want to kill us,
unless it was trying to BE US.
(beat)
Maybe the only way to stop killer
robots is to be better people.
The T-800/T-1000 stands up.
Sarah keeps her distance.
Sa-rah?

T-1000

26.
SARAH
It's pronounced Sara. Not hard.
She leans in and hugs him.

INT. KITCHEN - BRIGHT SUNNY DAY

Sarah, dressed normally, sits at the kitchen table, smiling.
SARAH
And that's ultimately how Mommy saved
the world.
Reveal a bubbly toddler sitting across from her.
Spread out on the table are some old photos:
Sarah on stage, holding a guitar.
Her surrounded by gold records.
Her holding a Terminator skull.
Her pregnant in the fifties.
She lingers on the pregnant photo.
SARAH (cont'd)
That's you. See.
(beat)
Terminators not only look human but,
apparently, work just like real
people too.
Looking dead on at the toddler.
SARAH (cont'd)
So, technicaly that makes you 35.
The T-1000 enters, looking quite haggard, in full on Daddy
mode.
T-1000
Hey, babe. Anything you need from the
store? We're running low on milk.
I'm good.

SARAH

She stands up and hugs the T1K. One big happy family.
