Private providers

University-arranged accommodation is either

owned by the University or offered by one of the
providers we work closely with. Accommodation
is situated on or near campus and within
easy travelling distance of the city. All our
accommodation is safe and comfortable and
has dedicated on-site management and support
teams to help you.

If you prefer to find your own place to live, you

might choose to move into a house owned by
a private landlord, or a room on a privately
owned site.

Postgraduate accommodation is self-catered,

with a choice of room types to suit your taste
and budget, from shared flats to large en suite
studios. All our accommodation comes complete
with kitchen/diner facilities and Wi-Fi.

International applicants

Students with disabilities

If you need accessible accommodation, you

will be entitled to a suitable room in University
accommodation for as long as you study with us.
We have accessible rooms on each campus and
on Broadgate Park, which can also be adapted to
meet a students individual requirements.

Students with specific requirements

including mixed-sex occupancy

If you have any specific requirements (for

example, medical), we will take these into
consideration according to priority and availability.
We will also need to see written supporting
evidence. All our sites are mixed-sex occupancy
but well do our best to provide accommodation
in a single-sex area if asked.
We allocate accommodation on a first-come,
first-served basis so we would advise you to
apply early to maximise the chances of getting the
particular accommodation you want.

Securing funding can be a complicated and

competitive process but there are opportunities
available if you start looking early enough.

for a Tier 4 student visa, please note that the
visa process requires you to show that you have
sufficient funds to cover your living expenses
(including accommodation) in the UK. The
University does not include information on

The International Office recommends that you

keep the money for your living expenses in your
bank account until after your visa application
has been processed and only pay for your
accommodation once your visa has been
granted. Damage deposits required to secure the
accommodation must still be paid, but will not be
included in the CAS. Further information on the
