SECTION D: QUESTION 7
Suggested Answer
I like the ending of `The Railway Children written by Edith Nesbit because it is a case of alls well
that ends well. The father of the children had been wronly accused of selling government secrets.
All of a sudden, he is taken away.
His family has to move from their comfortable in London to a rat-infested cottage in the country.
There, they try to adapt to the strange and new surroundings. Their mother suffers the most but she
does not show it.
The ending is beautiful because their father manages to clear his name and returns to the family.
Their father is not a spy and he is reunited with his happy family. Meanwhile, the family have made
new friends in the new place and they will probably continue to live there. The ending is perfect.
