Why students should learn English

English has become an universal language, it is necessary in almost every profession in
the world. Most of the parents make their children study English for their future. In Ecuador,
people are taking considerations of English as a second language because they need it in many
aspects of their life. Most schools in Ecuador teaches English as a second language for many
reasons. It facilitates the future of the students as professionals and because they get better
chances of getting a better life, also because English is the most important language.
Although some students believe that studying a foreign language is a waste of time,
because they will stay in the country and wont try to go outside of Ecuador, or because they
thing English is a difficult language to learn and they compare it with chemistry or mathematics.
A two year course of English will open a lot of opportunities for the students in their professions.
Indeed learning English is important because the professions nowadays require that the employer
know at least two languages to get a better position in their work or a better payment.
The English is learned linking it to life topics, with a competitive field and a good

is because they will get a lot of benefits, for instances, getting more possibilities of jobs or
international exchanges programs. The students will even get chances of getting international
scholarships, since one of the main rules is to know at least English to enroll in a scholarship
application, and these needs to be learned from the beginning in the schools.
Other benefit about learning English in every school, is that Ecuador will grow in a social
and cultural way, since English right now is the principal language in the world. All the students
will know English, so if foreign companies are looking for professionals, they will search them
in a country with people that know English. Many of the students will go to other countries to get
better in their language and professions, and eventually they will come back and generate
advantages for the country.
To conclude, it is important to know that all the students should learn English starting in
the school, for the facilities that he or she will get in the future, like in a professional way, or in
an easier way to get an exchange or international scholarships. English is now the most important
language in the world, so it is like an obligation that all the people should do.
