INNOCENT VOICE

Innoncent voice, that film made in 2004 and the story adaptation from real story the

Salvadoran Civil War in 1980 until now the war is still going on not just it this film get

many award like the best film in Audience Award 2006.

The story begins from , cheva the eldest son of kella is 11 years old. birthday is one of the

moments of the most eagerly awaited. But not for the children in a village in El Salvador

because at age 12 salvadoran army will take them by force to become Salvadoran army .

When the war started his dad left for the united sates. His family lived in the middle of

civil war between he Salvadoran army and the guerrillas. His mother make a living for

family by sewing and cheva helped by selling clothes results from his mother sewing

when cheva have school holiday he become assistant driver. One day a military come to

his school, they will recruitment children who have been 12 years old to become children

army. Cheva’s friend Antonio and nine others friend recruiting to become army. One day

uncle beto who joined guerrillas army visit cheva house and beto give mini radio to cheva

and he demand to cheva for listen radio broadcast of anti-government. Every morning

when he go to school cheva trun on the radio but Chava takes a risk by playing the station

in front of the soldiers, but the town's priest saves him by playing the same station over

the church's loudspeaker and the soilder shooting the loudspeaker . Chava falls in love

with a girl in his class named Cristina Maria, when his come to the school happen war

between Salvadoran army and the guerrillas. Kella and her family move to safer area in

her mother house. When 11th birthday of cheva, his family make a surprised but cheva

not in his room, his mother panic and search in village but not meet prove cheva decided
to join guerrillas however they could’t lift a weapon, the headquartes of guerrillas attack

by Salvadoran army. Cheva and 3 others areested, two friend were shot dedad with his

head from behind, but cheva save because guerrillas help him and cheva join guerrillas

against Salvadoran army, when cheva want to shoot one of many Salvadoran army his

doubt because the target is his friend Antonio who had join Salvadoran army finally

cheva releasing weapons and fled back to the villageand search his mom , when cheva

come to his village he saw his village burn he was very sad and angry and he meet his

mom, She decides to send him abroad to save him, and he promises to return and rescue

his brother before he too turns twelve.

This film truly extraordinary. Blending tragedy with the little things that sometimes

invites laughter. war does not produce anything but sadness, anger and pain, in this world

there are around 300,000 child soldiers, we must be grateful to God because we are birth

are not at war.
