stem Board of Trustees Donald J. Hofmann of West Windsor, New Jersey, has been named chairman of the Bo ard of Trustees of Princeton HealthCare System. Princeton, NJ, Febraury 25, 2010 -- Donald J. Hofmann of West Windsor, New Jerse y, has been named chairman of the Board of Trustees of Princeton HealthCare Syst em (http://www.princetonhcs.org), PHCS announced today. Hofmann, who previously served as the board s vice chairman and treasurer, starts his leadership tenure at an historic time for PHCS, with his three-year term set to include the opening of the new University Medical Center of Princeton at Pla insboro, the system s replacement hospital for University Medical Center of Prince ton. In a symbolic coincidence, Hofmann also happens to be the first non-Princeton re sident to lead the board in the institution s 91-year history. This area has been my home for many years, and the chance to continue serving the local communities of our region is a great honor, said Hofmann. At a time when ma ny hospitals are struggling, Princeton HealthCare System looks to the future wit h confidence, guided by the vision laid out by our board and management team to build one of the finest regional medical centers in the United States. A graduate of Harvard Business School, Hofmann is a managing partner of Crystal Ridge Partners, a Princeton-based private equity firm he co-founded in 2005. Pri or to that, Hofmann was a senior partner of JP Morgan Partners and its predecess ors, involved in all aspects of the management of the firm. He has served on the PHCS board since 2002 and succeeds Edward Matthews as the b oard s chairman. Hofmann s other community involvement includes membership on the board of HomeFron t, a non-profit group based in Lawrenceville that works with families to break t he cycle of poverty. He is also a former trustee of Princeton Day School. He and his wife, Joyce Hofmann, have two sons.
