When she fed the doll, the doll would help her do the housework.

What are you doing here? Vasilila heard a loud voice say.
Vasilila turned around and saw an old woman dressed in black. It was
the witch! Vasilila told her that she had nowhere to go.
Very well, said the witch, since you are here, you have to work
for me. You cannot leave until you have finished all the work or I will
eat you up!

Vasilila was so afraid that she did everything that witch told her
to do. Serve me dinner! cried the witch. Vasilila obediently served
the witch. The witch then gave her a small piece of bread.
I want you to clean the garden, sweep all the rooms and cook
lunch while I am out tomorrow, said the witch. And dont forget to
shell all the nuts in the two sacks.
Vasilila sat down and cried, thinking of all the work the witch had
given to her to do. She then remembered her bread and gave it to her
doll.
The doll said to her, Dont be afraid. I will help you with the
housework. You only have to prepare lunch.
Early the next morning, the witch left the house on her broom.
The doll cleaned the garden and swept all the rooms. Soon the cottage
looked as good as new. The doll then shelled all the nuts in the two
sacks.

to do all this? she asked. With my mothers blessing, replied Vasilila.

Ugh! I dont like girls who are blessed. Get out of here! shouted the
witch.
The witch pushed Vasilila out of the cottage. It was very dark
outside, so Vasilila took a skull with shining eyes from the fence and
put it on a long stick.
The light from the skull brightened up the path and Vasilila ran
as fast as she could. Not long after, she reached home.
When Vasilila told her father what had happened, he was very
angry with her stepmother and stepsisters. He wanted to chase them
out of the house but Vasilila forgave them. So, they lived happily
together as a family.
The moral of the story is, Be patient in every difficulty that
you have to face because there will be a good return in the future.
