boggy ground. Just before
reaching a wall, go R uphill

Moch, steering clear of wet
ground. Pass a cairn, join an
old track, and head for a stile
in a wall. Follow wall, R, and
ignore a gap in it. Continue
with wall at varying
distances, R. Walk uphill to a
stile in R corner and at
highest point of a fence
(where it bends R), head
slightly L, passing outcrops
and crossing a stream. You
will see a path approaching
from the hillside, R. Before
reaching it, go L uphill to
ancient stones of Bryn Cader
Faner.

The walk

From the pretty lake, Llyn

Tecwyn Isaf, this walk takes
you almost to Llyn
Trawsfynydd then climbs
through the northern hills of
the Rhinog mountains to the
remote valley of Cwm Moch.
Do not miss out the short
diversion to Bryn Cader
Faner, a beautiful Bronze
Age cairn circle set in
dramatic surroundings above
the ancient track. It is
thought to have been a burial
site. On the downward trail,
you have spectacular
mountain views.
