Fire Extinguisher Types

http://allfloridafire.com
Fire extinguishers are a crucial means of protection that can control fires and prevent them from
spreading excessively. Portable fire extinguishers are convenient to use at the onset of a fire. Fire
extinguishers are suitable for any facility including offices, apartment buildings, homes and
restaurants and are classified by type. Extinguishing agents are categorized according to the type of
fire they put out and are marked by specific symbols.

Class A Fire Extinguishers: These put out fires that begin on combustible material including paper,
wood, rubber, cloth and various types of plastics.
Class B Fire Extinguishers: These are used against fires produced by flammable liquids including
grease, oil, gasoline and oil-based paints.
Class C Fire Extinguishers: These are used to control fires that are caused by electrical equipment
including tools and appliances.
Class D Fire Extinguishers: These are used in industrial situations on flammable metals and must be
used according to the specific type of metal.
Class K Fire Extinguishers: These are designed for use during fires caused by vegetable oils, animal
oils and other fats used in cooking equipment. Class K extinguishers are used in commercial kitchens
including restaurants, cafeterias and catering facilities. They can also be used in residential kitchens.
All Florida Fire Equipment distributes new Buckeye, Amerex, Badger and Ansul fire extinguishers
throughout the Tampa Bay Area. These are all commercial grade fire extinguishers that meet the
NFPA 10 standards and codes. Before you buy extinguishers from these large corporate stores take a
look at what they have mounted on their walls compared to what they are selling, they do not even
trust the brands they are selling to protect themselves.
What are the inspection and maintenance requirements for FIRE EXTINGUISHERS?

Maintenance/Inspection/Annual Certification:
http://allfloridafire.com
All types of extinguishers should be inspected at least once a year. The extinguisher is checked to
make sure it has proper pressure (gauge in green or proper cartridge weight), has the correct
volume of extinguishing agent (tech weighs it), is within the required hydrotest and internal
maintenance intervals, is in good condition and all external parts are serviceable. Often, dry
chemical and dry powder types are hit on the bottom with a rubber mallet to make sure the powder
is free-flowing, which is called fluffing the powder. The tech will then attach a new tamper seal
around the pin and a yearly service tag.

Boat and Yacht Fire Suppression Systems

http://allfloridafire.com
An offshore fire is more than frightening. Its life-threatening. The good news: Fires on boats are rare
thanks to improved quality of vessel manufacture and technology. 95% of new boats over 20 feet
come with automatic fire suppression systems. The not-so-good news is that an estimated 70% of
boat owners with systems do not have their systems serviced annually. That means 7 systems out of
10 are out of date, and potentially non-functional. Dont risk the lives of your crew by overlooking
this vital service. Most insurers offer discounts for properly maintained fire equipment.

We have convenient dockside service at no extra charge. We provide annual dockside inspections of
fixed fire suppression systems. While we are aboard, we check your hand held fire extinguishers and
make certain they are properly mounted. We issue you a Coast Guard Certification inspection report
after completion of our inspection. With over 15 years of Marine experience, All Florida Fire
Equipment are yacht specialists.

Emergency Lighting
http://allfloridafire.com
Exit and emergency lighting equipment is intended to provide illumination during power outages.
Exit signs will also illuminate the path of egress during a power outage or fire emergency. The
equipment is made up of a rechargeable battery, a battery charger, one or more light bulbs, and a
relay device to turn on the bulbs automatically when the building power fails. Batteries are sized to
provide enough power in the event of an emergency for an lighting period of at least 1-1/2 hours.
NFPA, OSHA, AHJ and your local fire marshal have established these standards and expect you to
keep your equipment in an operating state. We can provide testing and troubleshooting for your
units, replacement batteries, chargers, and bulbs, as needed to keep your emergency lighting units
working properly. Monthly and Annual inspection options are available to fit your precise needs.
If/When the power ever goes out you will be thankful that you had All Florida Fire Equipment service
your lighting needs.
Heres What We Do For You
Inspection Criteria: Monthly and annual inspections apply to all Emergency Lighting fixtures
Monthly Inspection
Test integrity of lights and batteries through test button for 30 seconds Check for physical damage
Align the beam and tighten if necessary Check AC and charge lamps as applicable
Annual Test
Full Simulation 90 minute test Disconnect AC power supply to each unit Check battery and lens for
corrosion or damage Clean unit and lens as required Adjust beam for proper placement
Troubleshoot/Repair: Check charging system voltage, check battery output voltage, check line
voltage.
After unit passes inspection, a sticker is placed on the unit to satisfy record keeping requirements.
Your Emergency Lights and Exit signs are one of the most important links to a safe escape for
building occupants, so it just makes good sense to have a regular, systematic inspection performed
by a trained service professional. We have the expertise and training to assure that your emergency
lighting units will work when you need them the most, when the lights go out.

Hood Cleaning Tampa Bay Area

http://allfloridafire.com
Grease from the kitchen travels into the hood, through the vent hood filters, into duct-work that
leads to the exhaust fan on the roof, if unattended it can cause severe fire hazards. The complete
kitchen exhaust systems (top to bottom) are first scraped clean and then washed clean with
biodegradable chemicals and hot water pressure-washed. Our highly trained technicians work
methodically with all our clients to keep a safe kitchen environment. We follow all state and local
fire codes and are always in compliance with NFPA 96. We work closely with all our clients to choose
a service schedule that best fits them.
Not only is All Florida Fire Equipment one of the bay areas leaders in hood and exhaust cleaning we
also service fire suppression systems and have the ability to service both at the same time for your
convenience and operating efficiency.
Our Process:
Cleaning processes
The complete Kitchen exhaust systems (bottom to top) are first scraped clean and then washed
clean with food safe caustic chemicals and hot water pressure-washed.
Caustic chemicals
Caustic chemicals can be applied to break down the grease. After that, hot water can be used to
wash away the residue. Chemicals are generally applied with either a garden type sprayer,
downstream injection through a pressure washer or with a chemical foamer.
Once the chemicals are applied, they are allowed to dwell on the surface of the grease for a period
of time, before being washed off of the surface with hot water. In extreme situations, where grease
buildup is too heavy for a chemical application and a rinse, scrapers may be used to remove excess
buildup from the contaminated surfaces, before chemicals are applied.
