Bredero Shaw is considering that the field joint application won't be performed on the of CONTRACTOR's pipe laying vessel. Also our understanding is
that all the field joint applications will be done only in a horizontal position. Please confirm.

Our proposal are as follows:
1. The FBE layer thickness will be between 200 m and 500 m. In case of any reading outside this range, four additional readings will be taken around
such spot and then their average will be within 200-500 m. Please consider.
2. The Adhesive layer thickness will be between 200 m and 500 m. In case of any reading outside this range, four additional readings will be taken
around such spot and then their average will be within 200-500 m. Please consider.

During the PPT process, five field joints will be coated, being that: One field joint for FBE evaluation, one field joint for adhesive layer thickness
evaluation and three complete field joints (two of them will be submitted to Peel Adhesion tests).
All field joints will be set only in the horizontal position.

Our understanding is that all the materials were already defined by CONTRACTOR, which means that all of them are in compliace with the relevant tables
presented in the item 6 of this Technical specification. Please confirm.

ITEM # 11
Requirement: 9.2 Field Joint Heating

STATUS: OPEN

Bredero Shaw Analysis: November 1, 2012

Bredero Shaw understands the technical reason behind this requirement. Anyway we also understand that this range is stringent for field joint operations
due to the fact that any variation on the pipe wall thickness will bring as consequence readings out of the maximum tolerance of 15C. Therefore we would
like to propose that the difference between temperatures over the field joint shall be 25C as maximum. Please consider.

Bredero Shaw proposes a manual application for the FBE material. Please consider.

ITEM # 13
Requirement: 10.5 Holiday Detection

STATUS: OPEN

Bredero Shaw Analysis: November 1, 2012

The minimum specified FBE layer thickness shall be 200 microns. Thus we propose a test voltage of 5 V/m, which means a voltage of 1.0 kV.
The requested voltage of 3.5 kV represents more than 17 V/m regarding to the minimum specified FBE layer thickness, which is unusual.
For the complete field joint coating system we propose a test voltage of 20 kV. Please consider.

Bredero Shaw doesn't have track records for the Peel Adhesion test before the temperature on the hot applied HSS FJC decreases to below 90C.
Additionaly there are not track records even for Peel adhesion test at ambient temperature. Therefore we would like to request the PQT data book for the
relevant field joint coating system in order to verify if during that phase consistent adhesion performances were achieved in compliance with the Project
requirements.

Our comments are as follows:
1. Bredero Shaw is considering the columns related only to the PPT and Production phases. PQT won't be applicable for this scope of work.
2. Abrasive material contamination will be carried out on the extracted abrasive media from the blasting process.
3. FBE Holiday detection will consider as reference the minimum FBE layer thickness of 200 m, i.e a test voltage of 5 V/m, which means a test
voltage of 1.0 kV. Please see comment #13.
4. Regarding to the Peel Adhesion tests, please see comment #14.

General comments
Bredero Shaw Analysis: November 1, 2012
Our comments are as follows:
1. Bredero Shaw is not considering for this scope of work a qualification process for the repair procedure as mentioned in the tables IX, X, XI and XII.
