Activities:

1. The teacher asks the class what they can remember about
Jack and the Beanstalk. Students have 2-3 minutes to tell
their friends what they remember. Teacher asks a few
students to re-tell the main events of the story.
2. Next, the teacher divides the pupils into small groups and
distributes the worksheet. Teacher asks students to put the
pictures in the correct order by numbering them. The
worksheet is taken from the following link. Students tell the
story to each other.

4. After completing the task above, the groups will do the

activity on page 123 in the textbook. Complete the passage


using the or (-).
5. The teacher asks the students to look at a sentence from
Jack and the Beanstalk. Teacher tells them there are some
mistakes in the sentence. Do they know what they are?
There was giant beanstalk. He went outside and started to
climb beanstalk. The correct sentence should be There was
a giant beanstalk. He went outside and started to climb the
beanstalk.
6. Divide the class into groups of three. Give each group a
set
of cut up sentences (below). Tell the students to turn the

paper face down in a pile. One student takes a paper and


reads the sentence with the mistake aloud. The other
students must listen and decide how to correct the mistake.
Students take turns to read the sentences.

In a non tech lesson, a teacher can write the sentences on
spreadsheet. They also can do running dictation, whereby the
sentences can be pasted on the wall in the classroom, the
pupils will copy the sentences and completed them with the
correct article.
