Decision Making Process Paper
A time in my life when I had to make a personal decision was when I decided to move
from Philadelphia to Brunswick Georgia. That was the hardest decision of my life because I had
already lived in Brunswick Georgia and I didnt like it the first time. But I knew that it was a
good place to raise a family. I had two children at the time and so I made this decision not only
for myself but for them as well.

There were several step that I took in making my decision to move. Because I had
already lived there I knew the area. I knew some people, the cost of living was much cheaper
than Philly. The crime rate at the time was not as bad. I felt safe to let my children play outside
and not have to worry about bullets flying through the air or so my snatching them off the street,
dont get me wrong I know that theres crime everywhere and since Ive lived here the crime rate
has gone but when I moved here I did feel safe and my children are much older now.
The first step was to identify the problem (Bateman & Snell, 2011). This was an
important step that I had to make. I wanted a better life for my children. I made sure that I was
finically stable before I made the move. The second and third steps of (Bateman & Snell, 2011)
did not meet any of my needs for this decision. The fourth step was making the choice (Bateman
& Snell, 2011). I decided that I was going to move from Philly to Brunswick because things were
getting out of control up there and I was concern for myself and my childrens safety.
The fifth step I implemented the decision (Bateman & Snell, 2011) once I moved there I
would have started a new life for myself. I met my husband and we a family together. Finally, the
sixth step was evaluating the decision (Bateman & Snell, 2011). It has now been 9 years since I
made that decision, and looking back I am really glad I made that decision.

Conclusion
Had I not used the step by step plan, I would not have looked at all my options that were
available. That might have resulted in me not making this major decision.
