THE BUCKEYE QB BATTLE

Ohio State had a huge problem going into the 2015 season, but it's a problem almost every t
3 extremely talented quarterbacks: Braxton Miller (Sr.), Cardale Jones (Jr.), and J.T. Barrett (So

Barrett and Jones would have never been discovered if not for Braxton Miller's right shoulder

Enter Cardale Jones. A 6'5" QB from Cleveland, known for his social media presence on Twitte

starting QB to end the season. There was already debate about whether Braxton or J.T. would
rolled around. Cardale Jones exceeded all expectations though. In the Big Ten Championship,
the AP poll at the time, to an astounding 59-0 victory of Wisconsin. The margin of victory sho
football playoff committee decided that these Buckeyes were worthy of playing in the inaugu
and Baylor. Cardale Jones did not fail in these playoff games, beating Alabama 42-35 and Ore
first title since 2002.

Winning a title is impressive, but many were concerned about Cardale Jones' small sample si
possibly Michigan State, Cardale beat the three best teams on Ohio State's 2014 schedule. M
as the starter in 2015 as well. The QB battle was down to these two candidates after Braxton
