Butwait,letstakeamomenttoreflectonwhatIjustsaid.Ihateolives.InoticedthatI
usehate,andthatisaverystrongword.Letmerephraseit.Idontlikeolives.ThenI
goontoexplainthattheytastefunkyratherthandisgustingorunpalatable.Well
funkyisaword,auniqueandultimatelypositiveword,Iwouldusetodescribemyself.
Soitleadsmetowonder,howoftenhaveIusedaphraseoranexpressiontoostrongfor

blob.InsomecasesIfindmyselframblinginmyworks,aweaknessIwouldliketobe
ridofbytheendofthissemester.Othertimes,Itendtousetoomanywords.My

strengthsthroughoutmypapersaswell.Takethefollowingexcerptasanexample:

Thoughperhapsmywritingsarenothingincomparisontothosearoundme,Iwouldlike
tothinkthatmyuseofmetaphorsandimageryisastrength.Withthisinmind,mygoal
forthissemesteristobeabletomakemywritingbeautiful.Idontmeanfluffingitupor
makingitseempretty.Butrathertobeabletoconveymymessagesinawaythatinspires
thosewhoreadit.Imayhateolives,butiftheymotivatemetowriteapaperthatcan
changetheworld,IthinkIllbeabletotoleratethemforawhile.
