Oil Palm Industry Economic Journal Promotion (Call For Paper)
We are indeed pleased to inform that MPOB has a journal called the Oil Palm Industry Economic Journal
(OPIEJ). It began in September 2011 and is publish twice a year (March & September).
The mission of this journal is to provide a forum for speakers, authors and researchers from the palm oil
industry to publish their new findings on issues related to either economics, trade and marketing aspects
of palm oil.
CALL FOR PAPERS
We are also requesting you to encourage your colleagues and friends to submit their papers for
publication in the OPIEJ 2016.
For those who are interested, please note the following deadlines:
Submission of abstract
: 1 December 2015
Notification of acceptance
: 8 December 2015
Submission of manuscript
: 15 December 2015
Such papers will be reviewed by selected reviewers. Authors would be required to assign copyright to
MPOB. We hope you will consider the Journal of the Oil Palm Industry Economic Journal (OPIEJ) when
submitting your manuscripts for publication in future and you can send your manuscript to the Secretariat
of OPIEJ at email: honey@mpob.gov.my.

GUIDE TO AUTHORS
Language
The paper must be in British English.
Keywords
Please list not more five keywords for indexing purposes.
Abstract
An abstract of not more than 200 words is to accompany the manuscript. Emphasis should be on what
was found, not what was done.
General Form
Papers reporting original research should be cast in the form:
Introduction Experimental Results and Discussion Conclusion.
Copies
Two clear copies are to be submitted.
3.5 in. disk(s) containing the manuscript (in MS Word) should accompany.
Typing
The typing is to be doubled-spaced with reasonable margins on A4 size paper.
Words to be printed in italics should be italicized/underlined.
Use MS Word.
Reference
Each reference cited should be from an original source. When this is not possible, a
secondary source may be used, but it should be cited along with the original reference.
The Harvard system of citation should be used in the text, with the name of the author(s) in
all capitals followed by the year of publication in parentheses, e.g. JOHN, B J (1999).
The reference list should be in alphabetical order by first authors. There is no numbering.
Tables
Tables should be on separate sheets and properly numbered. The same applies to figures and other
illustrations.
The word TABLE and the remainder of the table heading should be in capitals.
Tables should only have three horizontal line.
Illustrations
All illustrations should be cited consecutively and referred to in the text.
Original artwork or positive photographic prints must be submitted with the original copy of the
manuscript. Photocopies are not acceptable.
All photomicrographs should be supplied with a suitable scale.
All illustrations should be numbered in sequence with Arabic numerals, in order of appearance in
the text, as Figure 1, Figure 2, etc. Terms such as Chart or plate should be avoided.
The word Figure and the caption should be italicized/underlined.
Unit of measurement
Metric units or the International System of Units should be used. Leave space between
numbers and units, e.g. 20 ha, 5-8 ml, use kg m-1 and not kg/m.
Review
All manuscripts will be referred to appropriate reviewers.
Proofs
One set of proofs will be sent to the authors to be checked for printers errors, and it is the responsibility
of the author(s) to submit corrections to the editor within the stipulated time.
