Ulyanovsk State Technical University

Ulyanovsk State Technical University (UlSTU) was founded in

1957. The first enrollment made up to only 699 students. In
1959 the University attracted 1 315 young people. Nowadays
the total number of students is about 10 000 in 8 Faculties.
Over the last 50 years the University acquired the reputation
of one of the best polytechnic schools and research centers in
the Volga region. Now UlSTU is a centre for education, science
and culture. The University is consistently in the TOP 10
ranking of Volga Federal District high schools.

UlSTU offers its students the premium resources to ensure they succeed in their studies and receive world-class
qualification meeting national standards and careers. The university engages over 600 teachers including 60
ScD, 340 PhD and more than 50 corresponding academy members.
Every year the University staff publishes over 2 000 articles in scientific proceedings and collected papers,
participates in scientific conferences both in Russia and abroad presenting more than 1600 reports.

The University is a unique and known invention center in Russia as well. It ranks 2nd in a patent quantity among
all patent holding entities in Russia.

Ulyanovsk State Technical University

The University graduates are demanded in Russia and abroad. They

consistently succeed in careers, are employed in highest positions and
set up their own business. During study the students have a possibility
to participate in the international educational and cultural projects,
volunteer in summer schools, do practice in a partner university and
even follow exchange program in foreign universities for one
semester. International experience promotes UlSTU students to look
into profession more insightfully, to obtain valuable experience and
apply it to work.
The University successfully maintains international cooperation and
has partnership agreements with educational and research centers
from Germany, the USA, Austria, China, Poland, Czech Republic and
Bulgaria. Our research teams results are highly appreciated at global
exhibitions in Brussels, Lion, Geneva and Paris.

UlSTU hold international conferences and attract the most competent

and devoted experts, arrange video conferences, invite foreign and
Russian specialists delivering lectures and sharing knowledge.

Ulyanovsk State Technical University

The University established Preparatory Department for international students. About 200 foreign students from
CIS countries, Vietnam, China, Iraq, Yemen, Palestine and other countries currently are the students of UlSTU.
Foreign students are involved in sporting and cultural events, participate in the events arranged for guest
students where they can learn national and local history and culture.
The University provides short-term internships for students from partner universities: they study specialty,
learn Russian language and follow short programs in various disciplines as part of international summer schools.
The main campus includes 84 buildings. The most faculties are located in the main campus, on the Volga
riverside. On campus students also enjoy cafes and diners, attend a gym, playing grounds, football field. Bus
station is close to the University.
UlSTU owns a modern recreation facility for students and staff. In summertime students can benefit from
staying in sports camp on the picturesque Volga river.
