Rice Introduction of the RMCC Board

by Wendy Wilkinson

Military I posed three questions to our Rice Military Civic Club’s board members
to help you know them a little better. All officers are dedicated volunteers.
Please contact them with any questions, issues, or compliments. We would like

to thank our officers and all of our volunteers for their work to make Rice
Military one of the best neighborhoods in Houston!

How long have you lived in the Rice Military neighborhood?

March 2010 Doug: I moved to Houston in 1994 from Boston (don't hold that Northerner
thing against me, Texas lives in my heart), moved to Mississippi in 2003 to be
with my ailing parents, then to Rice Military in mid-2006. I love our area in
Houston!
Cindy: I moved to the neighborhood from Clear Lake in October of 2002, so I
have been here over 7 years.
Will: Wendy and I have lived in the neighborhood since the end of 2006.  We
moved here from the Beltway 8
and 249 area to get back to the
downtown area and to be closer RMCC Officers

What pets do you have? vp@ricemilitary.org

story and an important part of Secretary Will Wilkinson

Cindy: I currently have no pets but grew up in a family that were big on pets.
We had everything from an alligator to a possum and a tarantula. My picture
was on the front page of my hometown paper with our pet bobcat when I was
in jr. high school.
April 14 Will: Wendy and I have two cats, Perci and Nelli, both girls.
Kathleen: A black cat named Salem.  I rescued him Halloween 2008.

What's your favorite place to go within walking distance of your house?
S t . L u k e ’ s B a p t i s t C h u r c h Doug: Memorial Park for all things outdoors! Golf if a passion of mine (if I can
get a tee time), walking, biking, and events—I love to participate in them all! I

Will: My favorite place to go within walking distance would be Mardi Gras
